Nice quality trimmer, nice value!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Philips Norelco Multigroom 5000 is a great value for the price. I appreciate the water resistance and I'm confident this should have no issues with shower use and/or washing and rinsing it off. The dualcut technology they mention isn't a sales gimmick, I can tell this groomer gives a cleaner cut and have not experienced any discomfort during use. Straight out of the box it does not have a charge so plug it in as soon as you get it. Easy to use and easy to clean as well. It comes with so many different attachments. Make sure you put the guard on when needed. Especially in the more sensitive areas of your body. It has most of the features you could want in a trimmer, and very few drawbacks. The only drawback I can think of is that it does not come with a storage case, but it is priced very well. Mine didn't really have a charge when I unboxed it so you should anticipate that you'll need to give a charge before you can test it out. Overall, great quality trimmer kit at a good value! It's nice to know that just because it's not as expensive as many other options, it does not disappoint in the quality department.

DO NOT BUY THIS Garbage
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So this is the 2nd time that I purchased Philips Morelco groomer because I wanted all the guards. This one did not compe with a chaging block, only USB cable. It does not shave close enough, its not a clean shave even without a guard. This is basically the wporst shaver that I ever purchased.

Rechargeable Trimmer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall this is a nice all-in-one battery charged trimmer. Let me get the few negatives of this product out of the way and they are truly minor compared to the positives of this product. The one feature that I wish was different is the Power plug. They included a cable that is has USB-A and instead of having like a USB-C in the shaver it is a standard two prong plug. I wish it were either full USB to USB or standard plug. Additionally, the plug included does not have a plug for wall, which would be nice to have. The other issue is you have eighteen different attachments and only one bag to hold them all, so finding the attachment you want means spilling it out and then finding the one you want. It would have been nice to have a case that opens instead. Overall, those are small gripes for a battery operated charged trimmer with plenty of power. I do like that the motor gives plenty of power to the device and not having a cord while using is is one less thing to get tangled in, and having a 2 hour battery life on the timmer is fantastic as it should cover even the most demanding grooming sessions. Switching heads/trimmers and using it is not a problem. Works fantastic, from nose trimming, beard or hair, it cute smoothly without pulling and very cleanly. If your looking for a general purpose grooming trimmer, this one is definitely one to look into as it covers most needs and then some.

Nice Trimmer. No USB adapter included.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pro: Various attachments and guards Con: No USB power adapter included Trimmer worked well. It’s light and doesn’t vibrate too much. The battery lasts about 3 hours, but it takes about an hour to fully charge, but there is a quick charge for short trimming. Overall it comes with 15 attachments, a carrying pouch, and a non standard USB charging cable. It doesn’t come with a USB power adapter. I don’t usually have a USB charger in my bathroom, so it was a mild inconvenience. If they were going to use a USB cable, it would’ve been better if they had used a USB-C rather than their own wire. At least that way, I wouldn’t need to worry about the cable. For facial trimming, this set has all the attachments I needed. For beards, there’s two guards for 1mm and 2mm, and one adjustable guard for 3-7mm. The 1mm guard may be a tad too high to achieve the stubble look. There’s also a noise trimmer and a small precision trimmer. The precision trimmer didn’t work as well for me as I had to press harder and didn’t trim my facial hair as well. For hair clipping, along with a wider trimmer, there’s four standard guards (4, 9, 12, and 16mm) and two fading guards (left and right). There’s two body grooming guards (3mm and 5mm). It worked well for body grooming. Moved along smoothly and didn't get caught or snagged.

Nice trimmer set. Works well. Many attachments
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a nice trimmer set. It includes more attachments than I need, but nice to know they are all available if needed. Swapping them out is pretty easy to click off/on once you know how it should feel. It includes a little bag to store all of the attachments so you don't have to keep them in the packaging tray and box. Only real downside is that it requires a separate USB wall charger block (the old 5v iPhone block worked nicely). But it charged up pretty quick. My son and I each have other Philips Norelco shavers and like those, the quality of this trimmer set is excellent as well.

Perfect razor for the whole body.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, Philips Norelco Multigroom 5000 is a well built device as are all the shaving products they sell. It charges quickly and holds a consistent charge for at a least a continual 45 minutes before the slightest drop off is even noticed. It comes with a total of 15 blades. One which we use for haircuts is adjustable so it makes things very easy. Also comes with nose hair/ear trimmer and as I mentioned various other blades for use over the entire body. It comes with a black cloth carrying bag. Nothing really eye catching, but it does get the job done. One other small lacking feature is that it did not come with a charging brick (actual plug) so this you will have to furnish on your own. A small inconvenience, but the features of the razor easily overcomes this. It takes a bit to use all of the attachements and get comfortable with what works best for you, but the included instructions makes it easy to follow and then its just a matter of personal preference. I would recommend this product.

Solid Multigroom trimmer.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Philips Norelco Multigroom 5000 is a decent electric trimmer that includes plenty of different attachments. Not only does it cut your beard, but it’s also made to cut your head and body hair as well. The box includes the trimmer 5000, a USB proprietary charging cable, a carrying pouch, and 15 different attachments. Aside from the standard cutting blades there is also a nose trimmer, an eyebrow trimmer, and a larger blade trimmer for trimming your head. I am a little disappointed that the box doesn’t include the power block, but luckily, I have a few extra laying around. It would have also been nice if there was a stand for the trimmer instead of just a carrying pouch. The first thing I had to do was charge the trimmer as it was completely dead out of the box. This was actually pretty nice because it gave me a chance to see how long a full charge takes right away. I am happy to say that the 70min charge time is accurate. And with a 5 min quick charge for about 10-15min. This is incredibly useful because I can’t tell you how many times my old trimmer was dead when I went to use it and it would take forever to charge it. After the trimmer was fully charged, I tried it out on my facial hair first…The results are fantastic. I have very thick hair and this trimmer was able to cut through it like butter. I especially like the attachment with 5 different lengths built in, it was able to make a clean and even cut throughout my entire beard. It’s also nice that the entire trimmer is washable, so cleaning is a sinch. The only part that I found a little odd, is the nose trimmer doesn’t come apart to clean it out. Seems to me a lot of dirt and hair can get trapped inside the nozzle, even after washing it. Next, I decided to trim my head, I switched to the wider blades and tried it out. I was met with the same results; my cut was even and smooth. And with the handy battery indicator, I was able to know how low my battery was left with the color indicator. My final results, I ended up with a clean fade. Overall, I am impressed with the Multigroom 5000. I love how well the grip stays firm in my hand, and the fast charging is a huge benefit. It has more than enough attachments for me, and it cuts through my hair smooth with no snags. It would have been nice if it came with a stand, but at least it does come with a carrying pouch. What I think Phillips needs to include is the power brick for obvious reasons. Other than that, this is a solid trimmer, and I would definitely recommend it.

Versatile, Great Value, a Couple Quirks
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This hair trimmer offers a lot of versatility with attachments for your scalp, face, body, and even nose hair. I was taken aback at just how many attachments were included for the price. They say it has 18 different attachments/tools but I only counted 15. Maybe they are also counting the charging cable, bag, and cleaning brush but it’s definitely not 18. Even so, it’s plenty of different tools/attachments for any area of your body. What I like about this particular trimmer is that it has 4 different heads for different levels of coverage from the standard head for things like your face, a wider head for your scalp, a precision head - honestly not sure where to actually use this one ;), and a head for your nose or ears. With each of the wider heads it also has separate attachments for different lengths. My only complaint though is that they don’t have a 1mm length attachment for use with the wider head which is the length I typically prefer for my scalp so I ended up using the smaller head that has that length attachment. The shortest length attachment with the wide head is 4mm. Battery life is rated at up to around 3 hours of use which is more than enough even if you were to take it on a couple week trip. It charges via an included USB A cable but it's not USB A on both ends. The USB A part is just the part that you plug into a wall charger and the end that plugs into the trimmer is proprietary to the device. It’s nice that it’s USB A for convenience (especially for international travel) but it’s a bummer that it doesn’t include a wall charger. Overall, this is a good, versatile trimmer for the money with a few quirks to be aware of.

A must have groomer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Phillips Multigroom 5000 is something every guy can use. It's close as can be to the perfect all over grooming tool. Cordless and powerful. Easy change heads. This and a razor are all you need to look your best. Two different "manscaping" attachments for those intimate areas. A nose and ear hair trimmer, useful for those of us that are of a certain age where that seems to be the fastest growing hair. Small sideburn/mustache trimmer for precision trimming/shaping. Hair guards and fade guards to give you the perfect haircut. Face guards for trimming your beard/mustache to your specifications. Unit is waterproof as well. My only gripe is that it takes a proprietary charging cord. If you lose it, that's a problem. With most things going to USB-C for charging, I figured this trimmer would have as well. This is perfect for travel as it packs small, especially if you take only the guards you'll absolutely need. Depending on usage, you should be able to get a full week out of it on a single charge. All in all, I recommend.

Good trimmer, but uses proprietary charging cord.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Comes with a storage bag to keep everything together, even if it is a slight hassle to dig through the bag for the attachment you’re looking for. Has plenty of attachments, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding one that works for whatever/however you’re trimming. Attachments are easy to take on/off, by just popping them off & on. No latches or awkward maneuvering required. They attach solidly, but not so tight that you feel like you’re going to break something when taking them off. It’s rechargeable, and good for wet/dry use, so you can easily use it in the shower for easy clean-up. Performance is good. Trims nice sharp lines. No noticeable bogging down, even when trimming up a beard that is sorely overdue. My biggest complaint is the charging. Like SO many things these days, it doesn’t come with a power supply, just a cable. I’ve come to accept this in most cases, but Norelco really screwed up by using a proprietary port on the trimmer. If you’re only going to include a USB cable for charging, why in the world would you NOT also make the trimmer port USB??? One more cable that I have to keep track of. Overall, it’s a decent trimmer, but the charging cable is a disappointment.

Great Trimmer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great and has a perfect assortment of attachments for me. Any beard longer than the longest attachment should be using scissors, and in that case, this is perfect for trimming around your cheeks and neckline. Also perfect for trimming eyebrows, nose hairs, and various areas below the neck. I had the previous model and it served me well for over 5 years. This newer model is a noticeable improvement.

Good trimming kit, could be better for the money
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.GOOD - Wet/Dry, can use in shower - Plenty of trimming heads and guards BAD - Charges over USB instead of dedicated wall adapter - Limited for trimming head hair - Some attachments, guards seem redundant - Storage bag doesn't keep things organized TL/DR The Multigroom 5000 is a good face and body trimmer, and being able to use it wet or dry adds some convenience. But it's limited in how well it can trim head hair since the longest guard is 16mm ( about 5/8" ). So if you have a buzz cut, or only want to trim around your ears, it's a great kit. But if you mainly need something for face and body hair, the 5000 kit might be more expensive than you need. DETAILS My previous Philips trimmer served well for a few years, but the guard and head don't stay on well anymore and finding replacement parts has become difficult. This new Multigroom is a good replacement in most ways and even does a few thing the previous model didn't. The guards snap on nicely and it's easy to remove and switch the trimming head. I kinda miss the vacuum feature of the last trimmer, as that made it much cleaner to use in not leaving bits of stubble and hair everywhere. This new Multigroom is wet/dry and can be used in the bath or shower, so that makes up for it. One of the side effects of being wet/dry is that it can't be used when plugged in ( the manual says this is a safety feature ). However, a quick five-minute charge is enough for 20 minutes run-time, so it's not a big deal. This kit also comes with a small detail trimming head, for those with more intricate facial hair, an ear/nose hair trimmer, a wide trimming head, and a bag to include the trimming heads and guards. While the bag can certainly help keep the bits from getting lost, it obviously doesn't keep them organized or easy to find the exact guard you're looking for. Also, the various trimming heads all have a dab of grease on the underside to lubricate the cutting heads. It would be nice if there was some kind of case, even a cheap plastic one, to hold the heads separate from the guards to keep them cleaner ( or to prevent the lube grease from getting on the trim guards ). But speaking of charging, this new Multigroom series charges over a USB cable, which I find odd. You only get a cable in the box, no wall adapter, which I understand because most people already have a few of them from past phones and devices. But while I share USB AC adapters between phones, tablets, portable battery packs, and other devices, I typically charge those on my desk or nightstand; not in the bathroom. For something that lives 99% of the time in one room, I would prefer a dedicated charging adapter. For those that travel a lot, USB charging has advantages, like charging the trimmer in your car or from a portable battery bank, or saving a bit of space in your luggage and travel bag. However, you'll still need to bring the trimmer's special charging cable because it doesn't use a standard micro USB or type-C charging connection. The other big limitation of the Multigroom is in trimming head hair. This particular model includes a wider trim head with taller/longer guards, but it only includes six of them. It has a 4, 9, 12, and 16mm guards ( roughly equivalent to a #1, #3, #4, and #5 standard guard ), and two taper guards for around your ears. So when it says it can clip your hair, in practical use it's limited to cleaning up your sideburns, neckline, and around your ears ( unless you have a buzz cut or really short hairdo ). I find it somewhat confusing in the mixture of trim heads and guards chosen to include in this kit as there seems to be a unnecessary redundancy. The guards are not universal in that they only fit one given trim head. So this kit includes a 1mm, 2mm, and 3 - 7mm adjustable guards for the small trim head meant for facial hair. But it has additional 3mm and 5mm guards for the same trim head meant for body hair. And again, the wider trim head also has a 4mm guard. The wider trim head, able to cover more area in a single pass, can more quickly cover the much larger areas when trimming body hair as opposed to trimming just your beard, so those body-specific guards seem like they'll go unused most the time. If you're regularly cleaning the guards after use, there's no hygiene problems using the same guard on your body as on your face or head. I get that an 18-piece kit sounds better than a 15-piece kit, but it seems a little extra planning could reduce the number of pieces without sacrificing any actual usability, and require less swapping trim heads and guards. Reducing the number of items in the kit should also lower the cost, or allow a better storage case. I find the Multigroom 5000 kit a perfectly adequate trimmer. It does its job well. But it has a few quirks that could probably be done better or cheaper. If you're mainly using it to trim face and body hair, not so much trimming around your ears, the 3000 kit is about half the price and probably covers everything you'd need.
