My multigroom was used and the serial numbers didn’t match up. So I returned it. Informed the cashier and decided to get a different one (Manscape Lawnmower) It had been used too. At this point, I was more than a little upset and grossed out. I decided to exchange the lawn mower for another Philips multigroom 9000. at a completely different Best Buy location just because I wanted a new multigroom.. It had hairs and had been used. Pics attached of the latest one. I remember the days before Amazon, I remember Bed, Bath and Beyond. I remember Pier 1. I remember when Best Buy sold legit products. Those days are long gone. Apologize for not providing more pictures. Those are from the last one I bought. I’m so grateful that Best Buy allows returns of hygienic products.

Having used several different trimmers over a 40 year span I was interested in trying out this latest version. I was not dis-appointed – the unit is quiet, powerful and comes with a wide range of heads and attachments. Can be used wet or dry and has a stainless-steel handle. Due to the fact there are so many (21) attachments/settings I am still working thru what combinations works best where, but am sure I will work that out with time and would recommend. The packaging was an issue for me. The product was delivered, and I could hear something rattling around. Turns out the trimmer was loose inside the box, cracking the plastic holder and a head had become detached as well and was loose in box too. Not the best of starts but trimmer seemed to work fine. Comes with a large travel case that houses the attachments with places for some of the heads as well. Charging is done by using the provided USB-A 36 inch cable with a proprietary 2 prong connection into the trimmer. No adapter is provided, which is the case for most products these days. What did dis-appointment me a little is if you are going to go to using USB power to charge (nice idea) why use a proprietary 2 prong connection to trimmer – why not use USB-C? Would be even more “global” and cable would be easy to replace if broken or lost. Documentation states 6 hours of run time on a 3-hour charge. 5 minute charge is supposed to provide enough power for 1 trim (no time given). Seems you cannot use while charging. Very easy to switch heads and attachments. Easy to set trim depth using spinning adjustment wheels on 2 of the comb attachments. Attachments come in 3 colors, black = full size beard & hair, medium grey = extra wide hair trimmer and light grey = body/eyebrows. • Steel Trimmer • Steel precision trimmer • Precision shaver • Nose and ear trimmer • Extra-wide hair trimmer • Body shaver • Precision trimming guard • 3-7 mm adjustable guard • 5 wide hair guards • 2 wide fading hair guards • Eyebrow guard • 2 body guards • Cleaning Brush I trimmed my hair, eyebrows and did some body trimming as well - all with great results with no nicks even on shortest setting(s). That has not been the case with prior products used, sometimes painfully so. I didn’t and wont use wet so didn’t test that….. Comes with an 8-year warranty which I think is exceptional. And does not require blade oil. Overall, a nice product that should be able to trim whatever hair needs trimming. It is powerful so would suggest being careful when using – don’t want to end up with a bald patch.

    Truly a Do-It-All Multigroomer!

The Philips Norelco Multigroom 9000 is the latest iteration of their "do it all" multi-groomer razor. For years I've used an electric razor for facial hair and a larger plug-in hair and body trimmer. It's always been a hassle to travel with multiple devices and there are parts everywhere. That has all changed with the Multigroom 9000. It truly does it all, whether it's trimming my beard or cutting my hair this is the only razor needed. Build & In the Box When unboxing, the first thing that is evident is the overall build quality of the razor body. It's mostly stainless steel with some plastic and rubber for grip. It's a substantial piece of equipment and fits well in hand. There is a single LED battery indicator, power button and the port for the cord on the base. It will stand on it's own as the base is flat. Included in the box is the razor, multiple bear, body and hair attachments, USB charging cord, instructions and a nice zipper carrying case for all the included pieces. As someone on the go, the carry kit is a manageable size for packing. Also, the razor is waterproof which is great fro clean up or using in the shower. Setup & Use The razor was not charged when received (LED charge light is orange), so after looking over the included instructions I charged the unit for well over the recommended 3 hours. The indicator light stays solid white when fully charged. While the unit was charging I went through the assortment of attachments that are included. They are color coded in light gray, medium gray and black and the colors align to beard and scalp hair, scalp hair and body and eyebrows. The adaptors snap into place either on the blade or replace the blade which also snaps on/off the razor body. They are very easy to connect and remove and are maintenance-free, self sharpening. The razor has a ton of power and the assortment of blades and adapters made easy work of trimming my beard, the hair on my neck and also my armpits. The battery life is claimed to be 6 hours on a full charge, and it's going strong for well over an hour with no signs of slowing down. The unit is quiet as well with just a lower hum when running. Pros: - Really well-built razor with tons of included accessories - Fits well in hand and can stand on its flat base if desired - Easy to change adapters and blades - USB charging cable is small and easy to pack - Zippered travel case that holds all pieces securely - Battery life seems to be very good, so signs of slowing down after multiple uses - Razor is waterproof which is great for cleaning and using in the shower Cons: - USB charging cord is proprietary, in today's world a universal connection would be great - The design of the accessory holder in the case makes accessing parts a bit of a challenge Overall the Philips Norelco Multigroom 9000 has surpassed my expectations and I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a single razor to do everything!

This grooming kit is exactly what I was hoping it would be. Everything from the battery life, to the attachments that are included to the included travel clam case have been a great experience. The attachments that are provided are very expansive, there are the standard numeric trim-depth attachments but there are also the fade, mustache, and other stylish options too. This was very surprising to me as my prior trimmers only included the 1-8 (if I recall correctly) options. I can now fade my side burns with ease as well as other areas such as face etc. The charge life on this unit is equal to or better than I had expected. It seemed that my prior trimmer I formed a habit of always plugging it in after I used it, but that's not the case, so far, for this unit. I have been using it for over a week and have yet to plug it in. Lastly, the travel case is amazing. I was taking a road trip with my old trimmer and when I arrived at my destination the clippers we out of battery because they had accidentally gotten bumped on in the trunk and had ran out of battery. This new trimmer's clam case is hard, and would significantly reduce the chance of an accidental "bump-on" scenario happening as the trimmer sits snugly in a cavity inside the case. Very well thought through and designed. All in all, if you are looking for an all-in-one trimmer that is travel friendly with good battery life, then I would highly recommend this unit for your self grooming needs.

    High performance, extremely versatile

I’m a hairy guy, have a beard and typically have my wife shave my back hair every few months. So I use a shaver regularly to trim/clean up my beard and to shave my body. But I don’t give myself haircuts (or even cut anyone else’s hair). While pricey, this Phillips set is a great deal, even for someone like me who doesn’t use the guards to cut your hair. The trimmer is professional, and comes with lots of adapters making it extremely versatile. My only gripe are the instructions and the labels of the various guards/trimmer attachments. Phillips needs to redo their graphics/instruction manual department. I had to use the pictures on the box to help me figure out which attachment did what. IN THE BOX I gripe with anything I buy that has multiple attachments, etc. with no storage option. Without something, even a bag, to keep accessories in, I tend to lose them. One of the benefits of this shaver is the inclusion of the travel bag. While I don’t typically travel with a shaver (on vacation, I’ll just let me beard grow) I personally just like being able to keep all the guards and attachments in one spot. In addition to the case you get a bevy of guards and attachments. I won’t list them all, but you get everything you need to cut your hair, trim your beard, trim your eyebrows, and even trim your nose/ear hair. I was seriously impressed with everything it comes with. Then there’s the charging cord which is USB, requiring a charging brick or a USB port in an outlet. Minor inconvenience, I guess it was done to give you flexibility, but I would have just preferred a two prong power cord at the end. Finally the trimmer itself. It has some heft without being too heavy. The metal on the outside makes it feel premium. It’s what you’d expect a hairstylist to own. It’s well balanced and easy to hold. Shaving itself is a chore, but using this trimmer is about as close as you can get to it “being a joy.” USE It took a few hours to full charge. It’s rated to last about 6 hours which seems to be in line with older trimmer - which I would charge and then several times a week for a few weeks before having to recharge again. There’s a light on the outside that lets you know when it’s done charging and when it needs to be charged. There are several different attachment heads, and then there are guards. All of which snap on and off in the same manner, flipping the front of it up towards the back. (It makes sense when you see it - point is that it’s easy). While they come off easily, I didn’t have any concern with them falling off in use. The width of the trimmers seems slim to me, as in I wish they were a bit wider to cover more area for every swipe, but the size seems to be similar to other trimmers. And this really only applies to the haircutting guards; which I admittedly won’t use. But compared to what I see when a stylist cuts my hair, they seem small. There’s not much to say in terms of performance other than it’s terrific. When trimming my beard I had no issues; my hairs didn’t get caught in the beard and the whole process was smooth. I made quick work of trimming my beard. When shaving my body hair, I swapped in the appropriate guard (which again, required me to look at the retail packaging). Here I didn’t have any issues, there was no pinching at all. Of course, it won’t be as smooth as a razor, I was still left impressed with how close it was able to shave. CONCLUSION This really is an all in one package, containing everything you could possibly need in cutting/trimming any hair on your body. For that reason alone it’s worth it. But when you add in the quality/durability of the trimmer (it is waterproof) and battery life, you have a winner. Sure there are cheaper alternatives out there that do the same thing, but this has to be one of the best all around packages. Shaving/trimming is never fun and I still don’t necessarily look forward to it, but having this nice of a tool to get the job done certainly helps.

The Philips Norelco 9000 multigroom trimmer by far the best trimmer i had ever used till date the way it shaves or trims the hair with great precision it is very versatile with the ability to trim and shape facial hair as well as remove unwanted hair from other parts of the body is awesome. This trimmer comes with plenty i mean a lot of attachments which includes multiple blades, nose and ear trimmer and different levels of heads for all size hair length and styles, its very simple and easy to use and very comfortable to hold for longer time without any wrist fatigue. The battery life is very good works for 6 hours on a single charge and a quick 5 minute charge provides a quick single trim You no need to worry about the loosing the sharpness of blades as it self-sharpens blades every time you use it and gives best clean cut every time and it is waterproof too Overall i highly recommend this trimmer to anyone who's interested in a high quality with variety of features and lots of options for achieving a perfect trim or shave every single time with out much hassle

    For Grooming On The Go

With a name like Multigroom 9000, you had better come out of the gate sawing down the competition. I shave every other day and like to keep a consistency about my look. So given the opportunity to try out the new Phillips Norelco Multigroom 9000, I had to jump at the chance. The idea of getting a great groomed look on the go and being able to shave my entire body with just one machine, sounds like a dream. It's also very nice to not have to worry about being tethered to the wall via power cords. So here we go. Opening the box, I was greeted with a beautifully crafted, stainless steel chassis( Oh, it's a fingerprint magnet, but it looks gorgeous) The feel of the shaver in the hand, just screams premium. Along with the manual, you'll also get 3 more shaving tips, including a nose hair trimmer( you know we could all use that). 21 pieces in all. 22, if you want to add the case as a piece. Tons or guards for fading and styling. Everything you should need If you're going away on an extended trip. That being said, This isn't for full-on styling , in my opinion. While I do love the grooming capabilities, I feel it is best use as an upkeep kit until you csn get to you usual barber or stylist. The cut isn't as close as I would like, to make me want to get rid of my heated razor and clipper kit cold turkey. I tried shaving my face with it, after going a few days extra than normal, between shaves. I wasn't sold on the closeness of the shave. I do like the work it did over the top lip, but the rest of the face still required an actual razor blade. This is a wet or dry razor, which is a cool thing. And charging from a dead battery takes roughly 6 hours, but you can still get a quick grooming session with only a 5 minute charge. This can be charged using any USB-a port, because there is no charging brick in the box( Go ahead and let that brick thing go.) I am very happy with the multigroom 9000. cleaning is very easy and it doesn't require oil, even though it should. But it is very easy to use. The heads just pop off with little effort, but not so easy as to make them pop off accidentally. Even with my complaints, it still is the best electric grooming razor kit that I've had the pleasure of using, I would recommend this to business folk that travel and vacationers alike. But I still recommend sticking with your normal stylist or barber . You'll just be able to go longer between visits. This makes for a great gift for men and women. This can be used all over your body.

Pretty stout little hair trimming kit from Phillips. This has pretty much all the attachments you'd need for personal grooming all neatly stored in a conveniently sized travel/storage case. While this might not as a hair trimmer (although you could probably do so) it works great for facial/body hair. If you needed a little touch up on your haircut then this would be just fine. If you wanted an actual hair cutter then you'd be better off getting one designed for that. This one works great for everything else. For hair trimming, pretty much all the standard sized clips are available here so for a little off the top or just cleaning up sideburns, you're set. There is an ear/nose hair trimmer attachment as well. For body shaving, there's quite a plethora of attachments that will cut/trim hair just about anywhere. All of the blade attachments simply click into place on the shaver. Real simple and easy to do as well as for when you need to clean out the hair that gets into there. There is a small brush included for this. The unit itself feels really solid. It has some heft to it so it feels good in the hand and the battery life on this is pretty good as well. I had a smaller body trimmer before that worked ok but that has now been replaced with this unit. It's far more versatile and, honestly, just works better than the previous unit.

    Versatile, complete grooming toolkit

Philips Norelco Multigroom 9000 - this is the ultimate hair trimming / shaving / grooming toolkit. I’ve owned and used a number of battery powered trimmers and the typical AC powered/corded head shaving clippers, but nothing comes close to how versatile the Philips Norelco Multigroom 9000 is. This thing comes with something like twenty different attachments. And that’s not all, a few of them are adjustable via a marked rotary dial that will adjust the trimming length by a few millimeters for each clicky turn - genius. Moreover, it has a built-in rechargeable Lithium-ion battery and comes with a USB charging cable, so it can be charged from your typical cell phone charger, car USB ports, computers, etc. It takes about two hours to fully charge if it’s completely drained and it’s rated to last 6 hours of use on a single charge. So that should give you weeks of use between charges, depending on how often and how long your trimming/grooming sessions are. To top it all off, the Philips Norelco Multigroom 9000 can be used in both dry and wet conditions and it glides smoothly, cuts sharply and does not pinch a bit. It is also travel friendly as it comes with a nice storage pouch that fits everything. Highly recommended.

I finally found the perfect trimer! I had to charge it for about an hour straight out the box and i've been using it for about a week now and it's still going strong so no worries on the batterie part it's really impresive. This is a premium trimer and it's really showing that in the way it looks, feels and the way it cuts. It so powerful than in fact i think it will do an awesome job at even cutting hair. It came with a nice travel case and a 3 more adapters(eyebrows, nose, body, shaving) and a bunch of guards for different situations. My favorite one is the 0.2 increments adjustable guard. It surprised me how precise that is. It's also fully waterproof that makes it very easy to be cleaned and the awesome blades that it has they are maintenance free(self sharpening and they don't require oil). Plus you can use it while in shower. It comes with an usb cable for charging but not with a power adapter so make sure you find a good cube with decent power to charge this thing. I really thing that Philips Norelco multigroom 9000 it's the perfect most complete trimer on the market at the moment. I really enjoy using it!

Not Quite As Great for Thicker Beards

INTRO: Before the Multigroom 9000, my primary shaver was actually the Multigroom 7400 which I’ve had for 6 years. So I’m no stranger to Philips Norelco. The Multigroom 9000 (MG9510) takes what I’ve loved about the 7000 series and gives you many more options for trimming that could make it a great choice as the only trimmer you may need. UNBOXING: The unboxing is super simple. Inside, you’re presented with the trimmer and a firm zipper shell case. Inside the case are all the included attachments and trimmer heads you might need, a very helpful manual that explains the intended purpose for each attachment, the USB-A to DC power cable, as well as a compartment to store the trimmer itself. For the included blades, you have a body groomer with skin protector, an extra-wide hair trimmer, a precision trimmer, nose/ear hair trimmer, precision shaver, and a full-size hair trimmer. As for attachment guards, they are categorized by color. The 3 light gray guards have a focus on the body and eyebrows with the full-size hair trimmer, while the 7 medium gray guards have a focus on scalp hair with the extra-wide hair trimmer, and the 2 black guards are for your beard and scalp hair with the full-size hair trimmer. POWER & BATTERY: It’s important to note that this kit does not include a power adapter. The manual and the trimmer itself are labeled with a recommended 5V==1A rating, and the manual suggests a power adapter that you can buy from Philips. If for some reason, you really want to overpay for a basic 5V==1A USB adapter, you can find the Philips HQ87 for around $26 + shipping on the Philips Encompass parts portal. In terms of battery life, Philips Norelco claim a 5 minute charge can be enough for a quick shave, but a proper 3 hour charge can yield you 6 hours of run time. While I haven’t had the time to test these claims to the fullest, my experience with multiple Norelco products in the past would leave me to feel pretty trustworthy about these claims. This model does not have multiple power modes, so the variance between two full charging cycles shouldn’t be dramatically different. BUILD & COMFORT: The trimmer itself has a firm, stainless steel body. It is easy to grip, and I never had a worry about it falling out of my hands. The attachments are made of plastic, but they are rugged, durable and comfortable when touching the skin. The last thing you want is to have a piece of plastic with textures that cause skin irritations, and I never felt that way about the materials used on the Multigroom 9000. Clipping the guards/combs onto the trimming heads required a bit of observation to see where everything clicked and to understand which guards/combs were made for which heads. But once I got the hang of that, clipping them on became easy, and removing them was also quite easy. I really recommend consulting the manual before you operate the Multigroom 9000. While it may look intimidating at first, in the end it’ll help make sure you get a proper trim. NOTES: For whatever reason, the adjustable comb for this model only goes up to 7mm beard length. Which means if you like to have a thicker beard beyond 7mm in length, you will want to look at the MG9520 variant of this product as that model supports adjustable beard guards from lengths 9mm - 13mm and 16mm - 20mm. You can also try using the wide hair guards. I went on to Philips’ Encompass portal and searched for the MG9520 to find that none of the larger adjustable combs were available for purchase since I know it would be interoperable with the MG9510 since it shares the same design. Only the 3mm to 7mm adjustable comb was available for purchase. So if for some reason you end up losing or breaking one of these larger combs, you will be unable to obtain a replacement via the Encompass portal at the time of writing this review. BODY HAIR: Given that this is a multigroom kit, the expectation should be that the trimmer can be used for all parts of the body. In my testing, each trimming head was effective for its designated task. I never ran into the trimmer heads snagging my hair while shaving so it’s a comfortable trim/shave overall. This is especially important if you have sensitive skin. I didn’t incur any rashes or redness during my shave, which was a pleasant surprise coming from my older Norelco where it was more typical to experience a little bit of irritation. FACIAL HAIR: The adjustable comb helped improve my consistency while shaving, so it’s unfortunate I didn’t have the larger comb since I would have liked my beard to be thicker. But for someone who is happy with the options presented to you in this package, you can get a nice trim as well as clean up unwanted hairs around your cheeks using the precision shaver. That way, you can achieve a clean look with well-defined lines. NOSE HAIR: Compared to my previous trimmer, I think I prefer this omni-directional style of nose hair trimmer more. I feel as though I can more easily tell that it’s effective, and overall I experience less discomfort compared to trimmers that are not omni-directional. I’ve used this style of trimmer on the very first Norelco trimmer I ever bought, and I’m happy to have it back on the MG9510. SCALP HAIR: Unfortunately, I don’t typically trim my own scalp, so I haven’t been able to test this trimmer for that purpose. I’m sure someone else may provide better insight if that’s of greater concern to you. CONCLUSION: Overall, I think Philips has continued to create a good product under their Norelco line of multi groomers. Although I’m not entirely sure why they have opted to exclude the longer adjustable combs in the MG9510 so that they can create the MG9520 model. I would really like to see Philips provide the ability to purchase those additional combs separately for those who purchased an MG9510 but decide down the road that they would like to try for a thicker beard. So if you’re interested in maintaining a thicker beard, I’d suggest the MG9520, but for those who need a closer shave on the beard or care more about trimming other hair, I think the MG9510 is a solid offering on the market.

It’s important for me to always try to look the best I can for work and play, I was not blessed with movie star looks, so I have to do the best I can and the Phillips Norelco Multigroom 9000 really keeps me looking sharp! Out of the box the first thing that I really love and impressed me was the carrying/ storage case…It’s awesome!!! With my other razors I have guards and guides stuffed away in drawers all over my house…some from razors long since gone…not handy when I needed it. The Multigroom 9000 case is just perfect. All 21 pieces plus the cleaning brush and the charging cable all fit perfectly and snuggly in the case. (NOTE: you might want to keep an old iPhone usb to outlet plug handy in the case as well since it only comes with the usb plug in option) The main part of the clam shell where the razor and main heads are form fitted, so they fit perfectly and don’t flop around. Super handy for storage and even handier for travel. The case is solid, sturdy and a very functional case that I love they provided….but what goods a case if the razor is not on par right….so I pulled the razor out and plugged it in to charge . It plugs in USB to charge which I really like. It small and doesn’t have that big old plug box that takes up outlets and is clunky to carry around. When traveling, I can plug this into usb ports or an iphone adapter ect. Very functional. It probably took a little longer to charge that way versus an old plug in style but I will gladly exchange the slower charge time for the convenience. It says it gets 6 hours of run time for a 3 hour charge… But if you are in a pinch you can charge for 5 minutes to get quick charge for single trim. I wish it had a percentage on their of how much charge it has but with the 5 min quick charge I guess it doesn’t really matter. After charging it up I began to decide where and what to shave…At this point I really noticed for the first time how great it felt in my hand. It felt sturdy, well built and very ergonomic. Not too big but also not to small. It also is just a really cool looking razor with the steel. I went for the basic steel trimmer which is it’s default shipping mode when you open the box. I turned it on and it has a strong even vibration. It means business but it’s not loud. I started with a “body trim” if you know what I mean. It did an incredible job. Neat, clean and trimmed. Used the little cleaning brush that they provided and ran it under water as well…just because I could. It’s wet and dry which I really like. Grooming in the shower is nice because you don’t have hair falling all over the bathroom! After my initial run, I felt more confident. I opened up the instructions and quickly put them down…too many words people…give me a QR code with a link to a short video about the different attachments please!!! But if you like to read they have you covered! I usually have my chest waxed in the summer but in the winter…why suffer when no one sees it anyway! So I decided next to use extra wide hair trimmer and go for the chest, then I saw they have a dedicated “body shaver head”! It did an awesome job! That brings me to another thing I really liked about the Multigroom 9000, and that is just how easy it is to change the heads! Some razors in the past drove me mad and I felt like each time I changed them I was going to break the razor….not so with this one! I do not have a beard (yet) but the precision trimming guard is really cool and seems like it would be really easy to keep up on a beard… No matter what your grooming needs are… Multigroom 9000 has you covered and then some!!! I am super happy with the Multigroom 9000. It’s just a great product. They advertise on the box that they are #1 in America and I can see why and concur. I can’t think of a single thing I don’t really love about this product! Can’t go wrong with this one! I would recommend to Phillips Norelco to make a pink one as well….my wife is now jealous and wants a pink one!!!

This grooming tool is truly one of the best all-in-one values I have ever used as part of my grooming routing. It is pretty incredible at this price to have a shaver that is capable of handling the taming of the hair basically around your entire body, wet or dry. The included attachments appear to cover practically all of ones grooming needs. The evidence of how innovative Philips was in designing this kit is entirely abundant. I have utilized every attachment except for the hair styling and fading attachments for a haircut, and I can attest that every one of the attachments worked for its advertised purpose and kit or trimmed with precision. The beard trimming tools are what I spent the most time with. The standard steel trimmer and the extra-wide hair trimmer were my favored attachments for cutting back my pesky neck hairs quickly. For precision shaping around my jaw line, I utilized the steel precision trimmer and the precision shaver (a foil-type shaver attachment) to really cut the small hairs back and get the precise line of my jaw that my wife loves so much. For my beard itself, I loved the innovative precision trimming guard that allowed me to trim my beard and moustache to a precise 3mm length! If you like your beard longer, the second adapter goes all the way up to 7mm and beyond that you can utilize the variety of labeled and easy to attach hair guards that go all the way up to 16mm in length! The nose and ear trimmer is an excellent addition to this package. I normally have a separate nose and eyebrow trimmer I use as part of my grooming routine, but I used this attachment for my nose, and it worked superbly without pulling or tugging any of the hairs out! The eyebrow trim guard, however, leaves the eyebrow hairs a little long for my taste but would work in a pinch to keep the eyebrow hairs tamed! One of the best parts of this whole package is the portability of it all! It comes with an amazing hard shell carrying case that everything fits neatly into. Most importantly, out of the four previous Norelco trimmers I have used, Philips has FINELY included a USB-A charging cable for a shaver! I love this because now this shaver can be charged on the go with any USB-A port, whether it is on a wall adapter or a portable power bank! This truly increases the portability of it and means that you don’t have to worry about finding an AC plug specifically for this charger. The only thing I think that could have further improved the versatility and portability of this shaver is if the shaver itself utilized a USB-micro or USB-C port instead of this proprietary double prong barrel style plug as most of Norelco shavers utilize. Even still, the USB-A cord is a huge upgrade! Just note that they did not include a wall adapter for it, so you will have to pick up or utilize one of your own––not too difficult to accommodate these days when so many of us have many USB-A wall adapters laying around! Also of note but less important, the shaver came without any charge from the factory, so it required a few minutes of charging before I could use it for my first trim! Altogether, this is an astonishingly good value of a grooming tool. I would suggest it as a gift for husbands, boyfriends, fathers, grandfathers, sons, okay––basically any fellow who is in need of an excellent multiuse grooming tool! Thank you so much for reading this review and I hope it helps to guide your purchase decision!

    Another Excellent Trimmer from Philips

I've used a few models of Philips Norelco trimmers in the past, and the design hasn't changed very much over the years. As someone who trims almost daily and cuts their own hair, I need high-quality grooming tools. The Norelco Multigroom 9000 offers a ton of different attachments for pretty much all trimming and hair cutting needs. This top-end model also has a few nice extras compared to the cheaper Philips Norelco models. ===PROS=== - The trimmer has a sleek and premium design. Its almost entirely a brushed stainless steel, so it is a fingerprint magnet. It's lightweight but still has a decent heft to it. It stands upright on my bathroom counter with no wobble. - The trimmer comes with about 18 different attachments with options for facial hair trimming, hair clipping, and body grooming. There's also a precision trimmer, a nose/ear trimmer, and a foil shaver. There's also a dedicated body shaver attachment so you can trim body hair without getting nicked and cut. - My favorite attachment is the adjustable precision trimming guard. It combines 11 different guard lengths into one attachment (from 1mm to 3mm) and is easily adjustable by simply turning a wheel. This is an excellent option to use while traveling so you don't need to bring multiple attachments. - The included precision trimmer head makes it incredibly easy to finish off the edges around beards and goatees. The trimmer heads are easy to remove and put on the trimmer. - Battery life is very good. Philips claims up to 6 hours of run time, which seems accurate so far. - Philips says the trimmer is "100% shower proof" so you can use it while showering. Haven't tried it yet, but nice to know. - This particular model comes with a very nice and sturdy storage case that holds the trimmer and all included attachments. My older Norelco model did not come with a storage case, so this is a very nice touch. - Extremely comfortable trimming and shaving. I've used 3 guards so far as well as the precision trimmer and foil shaver heads. No nicks, cuts, hair pulling, etc. to report. - Super easy to clean. Just run the trimmer and attachments under running water and let air dry. ===CONS=== - A USB-A charging cable is included, but there is no power adapter. You are expected to use your existing USB power adapters. This would be fine, but unfortunately Philips uses a proprietary connector on the trimmer. So you can't just use any USB cable to charge - you have to use the one provided in the box. If Philips wanted to go this route, they really should have just went with a USB-C connector on the trimmer and not some proprietary design. - Most of the attachments are supposedly color-coded so you can tell if they are meant for facial hair, hair clipping, or body grooming. But they are all basically the same shade of gray, so it's very hard to tell them apart at first glance. - I wish Philips would have made a charging dock for this trimmer so it can charge while staying upright on my counter. ===OVERALL=== This is a powerful and versatile trimmer. It looks great, feels great, and has an attachment for nearly any scenario. Highly recommended!

Went through several grooming tools. Quality seems to have improved considerably with this model. Warranty for this is an impressive 8 years. There are several attachments including three size hair trimmers, nose and body. There are several guards: - Dark gray for head hair with 5 sizes and 2 in angle which are new to me). The angle guards are used to transition from thick to short hair around the ears. All of these fit on the wide trimmer. - Light gray for facial hair to be used with the standard trimmer (3x). There are also two adjustable guards: One for precision, short cuts and one for longer cuts. The nose trimmer works well, feels sharper than older designs. The body trimmer comes with a built-in guard (not to be removed) and I find it a better design than the foil on older models. It provides with a closer trim reducing nicks, although it can happen on rough skin if one's not careful. This is really a great improvement for those using this function. Charging is now via USB-A. I find it odd that it needs a proprietary cable which looks the same as any other Philips shaver or trimmer, except this has an USB-A on the other side. The older power adapters appears to be no longer supported but the plug is the same. Also it's USB-A not the newer USB-C that is now used on most new products. The wall brick is not provided. The odd choice in the power cable might be related to water proofing, as this can be used in the shower. It charges in two hours and has a long battery life. It comes in a custom-fit storage pouch. The side for the trimmer and the main tools is very nice, but the side for the guards is a bit tight for the amount of tools. It's also harder to get one thing without having to remove a bunch of others due to the way it opens. The outside is semi-rigid. Well made. Overall it's a great improvement over already good trimmers.

This is the first new shaver that I've tried in awhile. I have an older trimmer that I use to sharpen up my beard and other areas, and a set of standard corded hair clippers that my wife routinely manages to not maim me with, and that's a situation that's worked pretty well. I saw that this trimmer could double as clippers, and that it's also cordless, and decided to try it out. My first impression on opening the box was that I was impressed that everything managed to be packed inside such a neat little storage case. There are a LOT of options. Six different heads for every possible application, and a wide variety of guards, two adjustable, to ensure you get the right length. It includes a small cleaning brush and a USB power cable. No brick to plug it into, but you should already have several of those lying in a junk drawer somewhere. I do my best to maintain my gear, because yeah, it's only hair, but blades still get dull over time. Even so, both my wife and I were surprised at how quickly this mows through hair, even with a smaller than usual pair of clippers (about 2/3 standard width), and the smaller size actually made it easier to maneuver around my ears. It produced a very even cut in a single pass with no issues, and my hair is fairly thick. The body hair attachments so far work great. I haven't nicked or pinched anything while grooming, and while I've used it quite a bit, it's still running on the initial charge I gave it, with no signs that it's starting to get low on charge. I'm very impressed with the battery life. This small set now replaces both my other trimmers and frees up valuable bathroom drawer space. Philips made a winner here. I'd definitely recommend it.

    A Wonderful Trimmer!

I honestly didn't realize how many different accessories came with this trimmer. Some you may use and some you may never use. Yet, it's always a benefit to have options. Who doesn't love options? The carry case that comes with the trimmer is top-notch. It is a hard case shell that will not be squished or flattened if storing it for travel. The first add-on I used was the nose trimmer. I wasn't sure how it would work but I can say it did the job. No pinched or pulled hairs. As we get older we have to groom all unwanted hair. Nose hair or ear hair can be problematic! After testing out a few of the add-ons I realized the Body 3mm worked best for my needs. Also, the normal-style razor is great for touching up my facial hair, sideburns, beard, and mustache. This trimmer does a fine job at edge-ups and touch-ups. There is also a large-size blade that can be added on as well. The Trimmer itself is a nice size that fits in the hand. Has some decent weight to it and is made of premium material. Doesn't feel like it will break if it's dropped. When it's turned on you can hear that it's on and working. Not too loud and not too faint of a sound. It did take a while for the initial charge out of the box. I do wish there was an indicator to alert on low battery. Maybe, I missed it. It comes with its preparatory cable to charge via USB-A. I wish companies would use USB-C for all electronics but maybe next time. This is a great trimmer that can be applied in many ways. I highly recommend it!

I have been using Phillips shavers for over 35 years myself and in the past few weeks I gifted the Norelcoo 9000 multigroom to my 14 years old son. we bonded as we both felt that it is the end of a childhood and the beginning of being a man. the Norelco 9000 is all that a man, young or old needs to take care of his facial, head and body hair. it has a compete set of trimmers including a nose hair trimmer, a trimmer for sideburns and mustache and a trimmer for the body. it also comes with multiple combs to adjust how close the cut is and how long the hair should be. the Norelco 9000 is safe to use dry or wet, it comes with a nice bag that keeps all the stuff together. a welcome addition is that the norelco now comes with a USB 2 chargig cable that has a USB 2 on one side to plug into a USB charger and the other end is the known Phillips charging port. no charger was included. the price is fair, and the quality is known and a new bond between a father and son has been achieved. thank you Phillips.
