I thought that I would upgrade this time from their lower end models, but this one is no better than my 6 year old model which has a stronger motor and trims better. I thought it wasn't charging all the way, but that wasn't the case. There was a note from Philips in the carton not to return it to the place of purchase but to call them which I did. After a very brief wait, I was connected with someone who helped me. I gave him the model and SN on the shaver. After less than 10 minutes, he was able to get approval to send a newer version of the Series 3000 which came in two days. I also received a return label to ship the original one from Best Buy back. After charging it as described, this one behaved just like the one from Best Buy. I turned on both, and they sounded the same like they are on their last bit of charge. Neither cuts or trims well. I returned the first one but don't know what to do next. It's not clear to me if this is the new design. I may have to go back to Remington shavers...

This one lives up to their standards for a nice shave with no skin irritation. I prefer this style over the newer style shavers.
