This was a gift for my adult son. He is very pleased with it. It charged quickly & gave him a smoother face than his previous trimmer.

Let's get straight to the point - when it comes to actually trimming hair, this trimmer is just okay. When using it on my beard, it left plenty of uncut hairs, regardless of length. I was expecting MUCH more from a high end and expensive trimmer. But there is one thing that this trimmer is exceptional at - and that's literally spraying your facial hair all over your sink and counter. If you've ever wanted to irritate your wife as she finds your whiskers all over her skin care and cosmetic products, this is the trimmer for you! More importantly, the reason I say this isn't a beard trimmer is due to the lack of attachments. It's got one comb - and though the length is adjustable on the trimmer itself, there are no attachments to clean up lines or trim in tighter areas. That means that this trimmer on its own won't get the job done - you'll need another trimmer or a razor also. So travelling with this is impossible. If you're looking for a usable beard trimmer that doesn't create a hurricane of facial hair in your bathroom every time you use it - look elsewhere.

Nice quality and a definite step up in style from the 5000 series. Very quiet and the carrying case is nice. The metal guard is not for me as it is hard, cold and much more harsh on the skin than a regular plastic guard.
