Great shaver
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great electric razor. Comes with all the bells and whistles that I don’t feel are necessary like an app that tells you if you’re shaving correctly. Nice if you feel you need that but I didn’t find it necessary.

It didn’t work well for me.
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Personally, this didn’t work out too well for me. Following the instructions, the shaving turned out to be rather rough and uncomfortable. Additionally, it never seemed to really cut the hairs cleanly or close enough to the skin that I had to follow up with a regular shave which kind of defeats the purpose. I like the way the system cleans the blades but it just wasn’t for me I guess.

Great shaver, disappointing power cord
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Norelco 7600 is a solid performer. A few spots take an extra pass or two to get which is normal, but despite the extra passes, no razor burn at all. Even after I let my beard grow out a few days over the weekend this razer handled it well with no tugging or yanking. Its one of the smoothest shaves I’ve ever had from a razor. Better than any of the loud vibrating soap bar shaped shavers that make my hand go numb. The only other razer that comes close to a shave this smooth has been other Norelco models I’ve had. The older Norelco models like the Arcitec I had could leave me with some Razer burn, and took more passes, but I have not experienced any razor burn with this new model. Yes, much better than older models. All the micro-beads, nano coating, larger heads leading into the cutters, and Sense IQ really make a noticeable difference. It’s so much more than the marketing hype I’ve become numb to reading. This is also a very quiet razor! I can shave in the morning without fear of waking anyone up in the next room. There is a built-in pop-out trimmer included for sideburns and minor hair trimming which works well and fold out of the way when not needed. It is always there; you can’t lose it. Cleaning is easy. After each shave I open the razor head with the button at the bottom and give it a rinse to flush the hair out. Or you can just use the cleaning pod. I rinse so as not to contaminate the cleaning fluid with the hair build up and hopefully have it last a bit longer without all that extra stuff in the fluid. After a rinse, I leave it open to dry. Every 2-3 days I put it in the Quick Clean Pod to give it a deeper clean which also lubricates the blades with the clean. The clean pod is easy to use; razor sits in the well upside down and while running pulls the fluid up and through the blades flushing and lubricating them. It pulses for about a minute, and it powers down on its own so you can walk away after you start it. It’s very effective and runs off the battery, no power cord needed, no outlet tied up endlessly. After several days I opened the head and cleaned each of the three rotary razors and blades with the included brush. There is a circular ring holding the head in, just a bit of a twist releases it. There was next to no buildup after several days. I feel I can probably extend the brushout period to once monthly, maybe more. Time will tell. One tip: take only one cutter/blade head apart at a time to clean, then reassemble before doing the next. Each rotary cutter blade beds in its own unique wear pattern. If you mix the cutters and covers, it will not work as well until you buy a replacement blade pack. Found that out with my first Norelco. That’s really all the maintenance there is other than replacing the blades every year or so. I tried shaving using both wet and with shaving cream, both worked well. I don’t feel a need to use these since it does so well for me dry. I didn’t see an advantage for me to add product and time to my routine. But every face is different, and this provides you more options to work with if needed. You may want to use the clean pod after each use with shaving cream to ensure the razor is clean of soap film after. It’s a wet and dry shaver which you can use in the shower, so no worries about getting it wet. There is an app that works with the razer to help you fine tune your shaving process. Maybe it’s because I’ve used an electric for about 40 years, mostly Norelco’s, that I’ve not taken to it? I have my routine down after all these years. Also, finding a place in a wet steamy bathroom to securely prop my $1,200 phone, clad in a leather case water will stain just does not appeal to me. But if the razor has a problem and this will help with diagnosing it, provide tips, allow me to find the correct part number for replacement blades, cleaner, and charging cable (more on this to come), order supplies, or get service, I see it as a plus. I must say that I’ve never needed service on a Norelco. They’ve always lasted me several years worry free. Norelco usually stops making blades before the razor fails on me, or I get a new one as a gift. The bar graph display shows the battery charge level. I estimate a full charge should last me nearly a month. A full charge took about an hour using the USB-A power cord. No AC-USB charging adapter is included, so you need to provide one. This is not uncommon these days. Most of us have more USB-A charging adapters than we know what do with and the adapter would add to the MSRP. Adapters are not free; the cost has to be passed along. So, an AC adapter omission can be seen as a positive for us who already have these adapters on hand, or integrated into our wall outlets. This omission did NOT detract from my rating or add to it. While one end of the charging cable is a USB-A cable, the razor end of the USB cord is a proprietary Norelco power plug, not any standard USB type of plug. WHY?!?!?! If the cable gets mis-placed, which is far too frequent with kids and co-workers on top of my own negligence, or when this cable eventually fails, I’m without the ability to charge this razor until I source a replacement of this unique charging cable. Which is likely a mail order spare part only cable. I sure hope Norelco has stock on hand when I’ll need it. With all the supply chain issues these past few years, it makes me a bit nervous. If Norelco had chosen to use something standard on the razor like a Micro-USB or USB-C adapter on so many phones, I would have numerous choices of cables at home or readily available in most any corner store to pick from and be back in business. As USB cables are so easily lost, a proprietary hybrid cable for me is a FAIL. I would rather have an AC adapter whose bulky end would help prevent it from getting lost. I hope Norelco rethinks this and changes to use one of the standard USB plugs on the razor next time. The proprietary hybrid USB charging cable gives me pause on recommending this model as I’ve lost so many USB cables over the years when traveling as well at home. Maybe they hide with the missing socks the dryer eats? This charging cable is my only ‘issue’ with this razer. It otherwise performs superbly, is comfortable to hold and use, and looks good. If you are confident, you can keep tabs on this special charging cable, this razor does provide an excellent shave and is worth considering.
