This product does remove hair as it's supposed to do. Why anyone would do this over waxing is beyond me but the product does work. It is pulling your hair out so it is painful. I do not like the design as it was very slippery in my hand. It is also loud. If you are looking for a more cost effective epilator or just want to try one out, this could be a decent option for you. I just found this item too painful to use but everyone's pain tolerance is different.

      Hi there,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. It is a pity that you found it too painful to use. When using an epilator, especially for the first time, some pain is to be expected. This, however, should become significantly less uncomfortable as the skin becomes used to the process. In order to reduce the painful sensation, we recommend trimming the hair or shaving a couple of days prior to the epilation, as shorter hairs are way easier to pluck out.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to get in touch via social media. We’re available 24/7 on Facebook (https://philips.to/fb247) and Twitter (https://philips.to/tw247). Not for use with slight stubble. Moderate hair growth is needed for good results. It is slightly uncomfortable with use. Hair removal is great! It leaves you smooth longer than waxing or shaving. I would recommend this product to anyone who enjoys smooth skin. The pain level is equivalent to plucking your eyebrows. Give this product a shot! You wont regret it!

This epilator is not as great as it could’ve been. The pros: The unit itself is lightweight, the razor head is easy to remove and clean, the switch is easy to operate with one hand. The cons: There aren’t enough tweezers in the head and a lot of width is wasted with the edges of the razor guard. The unit seems a little bit underpowered (I know this is an epilator and not a sports car... but I had higher expectations from the Philips brand). This epilator doesn’t have the power/precision to get fine/short hairs, so you’ll need to wait until hair is longer than you normally would’ve let it go before epilating with this. Alternatively you can just epilate more often and settle for an ‘ok’ job. I think that if Philips takes our feedback back to the drawing board, the next iteration of this epilator will be great.

The epilator is a cute design and does its job well. There are two speed settings: the lower being better for someone who is a bit intimidated by it. Being my first time ever using an epilator, I was a little hesitant at first but am now in love with how fast and convenient it is!

I gave this three out of five stars or an "average" rating...better than "poor" 1/5 stars or "fair" 2/5 stars because while it technically works, it really, really hurts. I even tried using it on different lengths of hair (shorter, medium, longer) but nothing made the pain less. I knew beforehand that it takes out hair at the root, so of course I expected some level of pain or discomfort but this is eye-watering OUCH pain. I've had waxing done and it hurts too, but at least it's quick and over with instantly. With this epilator, it cannot be done quickly. I'd much rather go through the trouble of shaving daily in the shower than withstand this excruciating modern-day version of medieval torture!

So this is my first experience with an epilator. It is painful but if you follow the directions and go slow the pain is manageable. The drawback is that despite trimming the hair to the recommended length prior to using the epilator, multiple passes are necessary to remove all of the hairs. This results in a lot of irritation. Maybe I'm not using this correctly, but I am not very impressed. I'll keep using and see if it gets any easier and less painful.

I got this for my wife. She tried it out on her legs and thought it was very uncomfortable. While it did a good job on her legs she was afraid to use it elsewhere.

    My skin was not happy

This product says it is designed for DRY HAIR REMOVAL and let me tell you that is an awful idea. My skin was not only red and irritated but it caused my skin to break out with acne and one left a lovely acne spot that wont go away. I had high hopes for this product because I get tired of using multiple steps to achieve the effect this machine claimed to do in one, but I was sorely disappointed. Maybe this is just a bad experience and other users don't share it, but I cannot reccomend this product. Oh, and the instructions say that multiple accessories are included in the box but clearly are not in the box.

Hi there, thank you for your feedback with your epilator. It's unfortunate to hear that your experience has been like this. Since you skin doesn't tolerate the epilator well, we don't recommend using it again. We would like to see how we can help you further with this issue. Could you please send us a message on one of our social media channels: @PhilipsCare (Twitter) or Philips (Facebook). We hope to hear from you soon. philipsglobal
