Love this clock. I almost wake up to the emerging light. When the audio alarm sounds, it is gentle and natural. No more startling alarm clocks. Settings are incredibly intuitive.

The Philips Therapy Lamp has potential to be so much more than it actually is. The design of the lamp is very nice. It has glossy look to it, that makes it appear as though you're looking at a donut made of lava. The lamp comes equipped with a built-in speaker on the back of it, which is sounds pretty decent. There is also a built-in USB port to charge your phone or tablet using the standard 2.0 connection. Plus, an aux cable to connect older devices to be able to play music. The problem with that is, not many devices now days even have an aux port in them anymore, so this is kind of an obsolete feature. Also, you would think you would be able to listen to music through the USB connection...Nope, the USB is strictly for charging only. There is a built-in AM/FM radio tuner which can also be used for the alarm. The Lamp has a very nice glowing display on the front, which displays the time. The brightness can be changed in settings, as well as turned off. Where the time is displayed, is where you can control the settings and menu with the built-in touch screen. The touchscreen is very responsive and makes a little tap noise when you push a button, (this noise can be turned off in settings). The lamp has 3 different modes that can be set for light. There is the standard desk lamp mode, which gives off a bright yellow color. In this mode, you are able to adjust the brightness of the lamp. The second mode, is the night light. This gives off a very faint reddish orange glow, which is activated by tapping the top of the lamp. This is suppose to act as a nightlight to not strain your eyes if you wake up in the middle of the night. The third, is what's called the breathing exercise. This brightness can be adjusted in this mode, and it glows in and out to help you relax while practicing your breathing. I really wish Phillips would have let you customize the color of the lamp, instead of just the brightness. Also, I don't like how you have to go through the menu just to turn on the lamp. I wish they would have made it to where you just tap the sun icon on the home screen, and that would have turned on the lamp. Or even if it would let you customize what tapping the top of the lamp would do. The lamp has some therapy options that help you get a better sleep cycle. Instead of your basic alarm clock, this lamp mimics the color of the sunrise/sunset and shines it on you when set the desired time. You can even add some nature sound effects like Summer birds, alps birds etc. I tried waking up to the sunrise, with some summer birds. First off the birds don't really sound all that good, it still sounds like an alarm clock. As for the sunrise, it just looks like a bright lamp shining in your face. I like the idea they were going for, but the results just didn't turn out the way I wanted. Overall, the Phillips Therapy lamp is a nice looking alarm clock with a decent lamp. I wish it would let you connect your phone other than an outdated aux cable. I also wish the lamp had more customizable options, like the ability to change the color of the lamp, or change what the top tap would do. I wouldn't really recommend this for use as a therapy lamp, but for a fancy alarm clock and lamp I would.

Excellent alarm clock with a futuristic design!

I really like the futuristic design of this alarm clock, it looks clean and straightforward, and has the essential features needed in a alarm clock in this range. Mainly I must say that the experience using this alarm clock is very satisfactory, and it can improve the quality of sleep that at least in my opinion, is very important. Although the alarm-lamp seems to be a bit large, it comes in a simple packaging and not too exaggerated box, you just have to take it out of the box, connect it and it is ready to go. It has its charger and a 3.5 mm cable to connect an audio device and use it as a speaker. Once turned on, the instructions are very simple since the instruction guide takes you by the hand to be able to make the most of this alarm lamp. This alarm fulfills its function of waking you up and giving you the option to snooze or turn off the alarm, but in reality that is not all, that makes this alarm clock special is that you can configure it so that once the desired time to wake up has arrived it plays some of preset sounds or just turn on the radio. In addition to the above, the light produced by the lamp simulates the light of sunrise and sunset, making waking up or sleeping feel more natural. With the virtual buttons at the bottom of the lamp you can control all the functions and select the time and modes available to wake up or sleep, it also has the option of connecting any other device to play music but I do have to say that the quality of speaker's audio is not the best, however it does the job. Let's go to the important part, is it worth paying for this alarm-lamp? … In my opinion, resting and waking up with energy and the right mood is essential, if for you it is also important and you want to improve the quality of your sleep, this alarm clock is definitely for you. I can confidently recommend this product as it has changed at least in me the way I perceive the classic and boring alarm clocks, since it has quite useful functions and easy to use.

I have a really hard time waking up in the mornings. This wake light has already helped make mornings easier for me. The red light for relaxation wasn’t a feature that I specifically wanted, but I have found it to be quite soothing. Very happy with my purchase.

Works as advertised -- however, there is no snooze function for the sound only, which irritates me to no end. I use the device every morning -- and it really is easier to wake up before sunrise since I've used this -- but I also use my old alarm clock and/or phone alarm so that I can hit "snooze" without turning off the light.

Love the wake up light! Wish I had tried it sooner. The only con is the programming is not user friendly. Very confusing. The radio does not bring in stations clearly. Wish there was an option for an alarm sound in addition to music or nature sounds.

I'll be honest, I had never heard of this night lamp before until I saw it online. I was so impressed with the design & concept, I wanted to get my hands on it. So I immediately ordered and was so excited to use it when it arrived. I've been using it for couple of weeks now and I'm in love with it. We have owned many different Philips products and know how good quality products they make, This one is no exception. I did some research before ordering it and had no hesitation as people gave positive reviews. I enjoy having this on my bedside. It is a nicer way of waking up each morning versus my cell phone blaring. The lamp looks great on my nightstand, and the light it provides is warm and inviting. I love wake-up lamps in general, since they make it easier to get up in the winter when it's cold and dark when my alarm goes off. One of the main selling points for this unit was the smartphone app and I haven been really impressed with that functionality. The clock is dim, giving off a pale white light. The design is sleek and feels good to the touch. That probably sounds strange, but to turn off the night light feature, I just swipe my hand across the smooth, cool plastic. There's something magical about shutting off a light without a switch or knob. It looks good, the working principle is in line with the advertisement and I have no problems with this product. When I bought it as an alarm clock, the sunset function was very good and I like the color transition. I also like that the clock/icon can be dimmed because I don’t like the bright LEDs in the bedroom. I use ambient sounds with lights because the light itself (albeit very bright) sometimes cannot wake me up. When the alarm is set, the intensity of the light gradually increases to reach the maximum brightness. The sound only starts playing at the set alarm time. After 1 hour, the lights and sounds will automatically turn off. It's ideal for those who need to wake up before sunrise. Use the "Relax Breath" function to breathe in and out gently to relax yourself before going to bed. Track your sleep and bedroom sleep environment data. Use the lamp as a reading lamp or bedroom lamp. Bright enough to illuminate the entire room, soft enough to accommodate a small night light or table lamp. In my tests, the speaker quality and reception quality of the radio was shocking. Use the multiple alarm function to set multiple alarms for different days of the week or weekend. The night light function is also particularly useful. I like to read in bed. This lamp can be set bright enough to make it comfortable to read, but even a 45-watt bulb has no harsh "edges." I wake up refreshed. No more annoying alarm clocks, so you don't have to worry about starting a stressful day. My phone is no longer used as an alarm clock. On a dark winter morning, there is no longer the fear of getting sick from trampling. If you have questions, please watch this product's youtube videos. It will show that this lamp's transition from dark to day is incremental, rather than discrete jumps in brightness. This means awakening everything. Pros: - Sunset function helps to fall asleep - Three audio functions: ambient sound, radio or your phone/device (including auxiliary line) - Very smooth/uniform light transition - Easy to customize and save two separate alarms - The highest setting is very bright - USB port can charge the phone - Tap the top when you leave to easily turn off the lights and music Pros: - Costly - Sometimes it’s hard to see the time - Too big Overall, I'm very much satisfied with the product and would definitely recommend it.

A great addition to trying to rehab my sleep when I flip from night shifts to day shifts. Also great to wake up to a "sunny" room when I know it's dreary and overcast outside! Would definitely recommend for anyone doing shift work.

I purchased this item and was excited to receive. Nothing wrong with the item, does everything it says it will do. Did not like the volume control, it seemed pretty primitive how you manage the timer and alarm. In my opinion, the alarm wasn't loud enough and the fact that there is no radio/Bluetooth option was kind of a bummer. Like I said, everything was as described, it just fell short of my expectations.
