I’ve been trying to reset my sleep schedule and this has been an absolute game changer

It has to be 11 inches from my face per instructions. Makes it too easy to hit snooze. Being a heavy sleeper the distance defeats its purpose of helping with my sleep disorder.

It is very easy to program. I like my room to be very dark. The lights on the display are not too bright. The lighting in the morning makes it easier to wake up.

I wish you could customize the colors, other than that gets the job done and is a very nice touch to those hazy winter mornings

This SmarSleep wake-up light is excellent. I also love that it has a radio and sounds to choose from.

I know that the title makes it seem like I wouldn’t like this lamp, but I actually do. It works as its expected to and does everything it advertises; I just don’t feel like I’m getting the advertised benefits. Setup is a breeze. Just plug it in and follow the guide online. Some of the buttons aren’t the most intuitive at first so a bit of trial and error occurred to figure out which button did what, but its easy to go back if you selected the wrong thing and its easy to make adjustments. The light can actually get surprisingly bright and works great as a reading lamp if you want it to. The sounds selection is pretty limited, but at least for the wind down option you can just plug in your own music if you’d like. Although I personally found the wind down programs to not be helpful. I honestly don't have much trouble falling asleep, my issues are all in the waking part. Both the wind down programs just bothered me and made me feel like it was harder to fall asleep. If you do have trouble falling asleep, than this might help you develop a different and better system for going to sleep. The only reason that I feel like it may not be for me is that I seem to wake up without it. Being in the summer time, the natural light coming in from outside doesn’t really match the lamp and so I’m waking up with the lights outside earlier than I want, but before the lamp has a chance to work. In the booklet for the lamp it says that the alarm is supposed to let you know when its time to get up, but you should be naturally waking up and I guess lying in bed getting ready to actually get up. I’m waking up well before the light on the lamp is even starting to turn on. I think this may be much more useful if in the winter time when the light in my room are not already increasing from the sun or if you work a night shift and are trying to mimic nature to help you sleep better. Overall I think this is a well built, very high quality lamp/alarm clock with some very nice functionality to try and help you fall asleep and wake up more naturally. I just think that my natural sleep habits don’t line up as well with the benefits of this lamp, at least during the summer when the nights are shorter. For right now the lamp has been moved to my daughter’s room who is a bit scared of the dark and the gradual sunset option helps her to fall asleep without being scared. This is a bit too expensive for a kid’s nightlight so I’ll get her something cheaper and steal it back in the winter.

Bought this for my wife not knowing how we would like it. Turns out the sunrise and sunset feature is amazing and has great tones to wake up to.

Really nice to wake up with this light, less sudden and therapeutic. A huge improvement from traditional ring alarms.

So much better than a loud annoying alarm. Love that I can adjust the lighting and have sound options. Very happy with this purchase.

I like the sunset and sunrise functions a lot. For that reason I will keep using it. But controls are clunky and it really seems like an app would make this much easier to use. I get up at the same time most days, but if I wanted to change the alarm time it would be a hassle.

Game changer. I wake up to a sunrise and the singing of bowls and go to bed with sunset and ocean waves.

It is a gimmick I can appreciate. Treat yourself. You deserve it.

Different light levels and sound volumes are easy to adjust. Works for me to help me wake up.

The first thing to note about this lamp is that it was larger than I expected it to be, but that was a good thing. It does sort of resemble a donut but hey, who doesn't like donuts? The light itself is mellow and has numerous brightness levels based on your preferences. It has a nice, mellow glow throughout the daytime and is shut off at night until the alarm function enables based on the time that you choose. Setting up the alarm is intuitive and I was able to do it even without instructions. You can set the brightness level specifically for the alarm function as well as choose the sound to wake up to, but you can disable that completely if you wish. You can choose between your own music, an FM radio station (it has a built-in FM antennae), or some pre-loaded nature sounds. I liked a couple of the nature sounds but found the others to be a little odd. Like frogs and stuff. Kind of weird. However the main nature sound that they have is nice with quiet, chirping birds and I find it nice to wake up to every morning. There's also a relaxation feature which will guide you through breathing and calming exercises. Another nice feature is that it has a USB type A port so you can charge your phone at night. However, the one odd omission is that this lamp does not seem to integrate with a smartphone app which seems like it would be standard for something in this price range. It would be nice to be able to control all the features from an app and possibly even update the lamp with more nature sounds.

Great light and helps mimic sun setting and rising.
