The Philips Sonicare DiamondClean 9700 electric is the top-of-the-line in the current offerings by Philips, packed with every feature you might want, includes seven extra brush heads and has the best software support available. Its performance in the multiple roles of cleaning/whitening your teeth, maintaining gum health and cleaning your tongue is absolutely unmatched by any other toothbrush. It is a superb device and, despite its relatively high initial cost, an outstanding value! The Sonicare toothbrush was introduced about 25 years ago but Philips has continued to improve it with each new model. The latest version provides an incredible 62,000 movements per minute (31,000 brush strokes) and a high capacity rechargeable lithium ion battery which gives up to three weeks use between charging. The full list of DiamondClean 9700 features is quite impressive: • Ergonomic smart power head with 62,000 movements/minute (31,000 brush strokes) • Rechargeable lithium ion battery provides up to three weeks of use before recharging • Illuminated displays on handle (Power, Setting, Intensity, Replacement, Pressure) • Five cleaning settings o Clean – 2 minute cycle for everyday use o Whitening – 2 minute, 40 second cycle, removes surface stains o Gum health – 3 minute, 20 second cycle, special attention to molars o Deep clean – 3 minute cycle, brush-pacer feedback o Tongue care – 20 second cycle used with special micro-bristle head • Three intensity levels (Low, Medium, High) • Two built-in timers: Brush-pacer and Smartimer • Performance measures o Removes 10X more plaque o Up to 7X healthier gums o Up to 100% less stains • Bluetooth connectivity and free app for Android/Apple phones • Extensive sensors and coaching/record-keeping with Philips Sonicare app o Location tracking o Scrubbing sensor o 3D mouth map o TouchUp (to verify all areas covered) • Advanced pressure sensor with three notification systems o Handle vibration alert o Purple light ring at bottom of brush o Warning in connected app • Easy-start program to gradually increase power over the first 14 brushings • Includes eight brush heads which automatically sync with their optimal mode and have microchip sensors to signal when replacement is needed o Three C3 Premium Plaque Control o Two G3 Premium Gum Care o Two W3 Premium Whitening o One TongueCare+ microbristle brush • Clear plastic protective brush heads for all spare brushes • Hard shell travel case with charger and room for handle and two brush heads • Three charging stations o Beautiful glass cup (fits over inductive charging ring) o Clear plastic stand (fits over inductive charging ring) o USB connection in travel case • Two year warranty with additional six months added upon registration Philips Sonicare engineering has significantly raised the level of expected excellence in this 9700 Diamond Clean Smart electronic tooth brush. Philips products have always been the gold standard, but this model is indeed even more special than expected. The price is a little high (about the cost of two professional teeth cleanings), but seven additional brushes are included and this is such an improved product I saw the extra value in its quality and performance almost immediately. Having a long history of expensive dental work including crowns, a permanent bridge and an implant, I am extremely interested in good checkups to protect my investment in healthy teeth and gums. My dental hygiene has always depended upon an electric toothbrush for best results as recommended by my dentist and hygienist. For years I have used the “other” popular brand with rotating brush. Recently I began using a base model Philips Sonicare toothbrush and found the difference in performance so remarkable that I vowed to never go back to the “other” (round head) brand. So how did the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean 9700 manage to WOW a valued repeat client like me to bring technology, health care expertise, and innovative design to serve in this most luxurious and advanced package? Let’s start with first impression: the deep blue color is gorgeous, the finish a very rich satin and the brush rests in an elegant glass which fits over a beautiful gold-colored charging base for an even more sophisticated impression. Then there is the wealth of connected features, sensors and controls plus the dual charging capability of electric or USB charging. I guess that is why this is called an “electronic” toothbrush, not just electric. First of all, it has a very nice, non-slip finish and it is remarkably light to hold. It has three intensity settings (from gentle to strong) – very important to keep onlays and other delicate dental work in place, its brush shape reaches hard-to-get to spaces but it still manages to eliminate those stubborn coffee stains and leave your teeth feeling like you have just had them cleaned by the hygienist. This model has multiple pressure sensors to keep you from brushing your teeth too hard which could cause damage to your enamel and very importantly does not shred your gums. It has a slender handle making it easy to hold and manipulate in tooth brushing. And it also has pre-programmed timers synchronized to the type of brush head in use to prompt adequate brushing for each quadrant of your mouth. This keeps you from brushing too much or too little. Phillips offers specialized brush heads that are click-on and interchangeable and a little light to let you know when it is time to change brushes. The brush is much quieter that the “other brand” and it is sleeker and cleaner looking on the counter. Did you notice that this brush connects to an app to tutor you into getting the most benefit out of this brush? I was not sure this was going to appeal to me since if you are not a total geek it seems a bit odd to bring your phone into the bathroom to advise you on your oral care routine. However, the app took moments to install and the Bluetooth connectivity was automatically activated and ready for first use right out of the box. I found that the app guided me perfectly, noting when I brushed too fast, missed a section or applied too much pressure. Its count-down timer and visual tracking made me focus like never before on getting my teeth perfectly clean. Points on the board for this feature! The next top drawer element is the variety of brushing types you can enjoy for super oral hygiene with this toothbrush. Four types of great brush heads are standard with this model for personalized oral healthcare goals that are easily programmed in your app. The app guides you to brush according to your preference to get optimal cleaning. Multiple specialized brushes in this suite include those for plaque control to give a deep clean, a gum care brush for healthy gum cleaning and stain removal brush for whiter teeth and finally a tongue care “brush” for fresh breath. The sleek design travel case has room for the power handle as well as two brushes and recharges with a built in USB power cord. It is a very complete oral health system. So how did it all work? In a word: Fantastic. I have been experimenting with all brushes for only a week so far, and I can say the 9700 DiamondClean delivers the best results I could ever have expected. As I mentioned, I have another Sonicare tooth brush (the base model) which I felt was performing well, but the DiamondClean clearly is superior! The app guided me to make sure I did not overlook or underbrush areas of the mouth and my teeth appear whiter and cleaner using whitening toothpaste with the whitening brush. Brushes are constructed so that they seem to reach into every groove including in crowded teeth areas prone to plaque buildup. Another reason for being so impressed with the Sonicare system is this…..it has less splash all over my mirror when I brush my teeth. This is a huge and unexpected benefit. With the other brand’s spinning toothbrush I had been using before using the Sonicare, the mirror had to be cleaned each time I brushed my teeth. The Phillips Sonicare produces no splash. This is the most beautiful, practical, and versatile toothbrush I have ever used. I find it flawless in its intended purpose and design. Long after the price is forgotten, the quality of this toothbrush will be appreciated. And so confident is Philips in this toothbrush, they give a free 6 month warranty extension (to a total of 2.5 years!) when you register it in the app. I strongly recommend this complete toothbrush system to the individual interested in keeping their teeth and gums healthy as a life time goal.

The Philips Sonicare DiamondClean 9700 Rechargeable Smart Electric Toothbrush comes with 7 brush heads and a tongue scrubbing head, an at-home charging station, and a travel case that also serves as a charging station. Also, a smart phone app can be used to enhance your use of this device. I was pleasantly surprised at all of the wonderful features of this electric toothbrush. Just the fact that it comes with so many brush heads is a huge plus. I also liked the brushing pacer, and really love both the charging station and the travel charging case. Charging: Straight from the box, the unit comes with enough charge to use more than once. The instructions suggest that you use it once and then charge it fully for 24 hours. You can charge the unit two ways: (1) The charging station consists of a gold colored base, a charging glass, and a lid for the glass. When charging, you plug in the base and place the glass on the base and place the toothbrush inside the glass. You don’t have to place it in any special position because the bottom of the toothbrush has a solid copper-colored plate which begins charging the unit as soon as it touches the bottom of the glass (as long as the glass is on the plugged-in base.) The toothbrush will beep and vibrate for a second when it begins to charge, so you know it is charging. The glass can also be used as a drinking glass and it has a lid which keeps dust out of the glass. In the center of the lid is an indentation that exactly fits the toothbrush so you can use it as a stand for your toothbrush when it isn’t charging. (2) The travel case has a USB cord embedded in the base and this can be plugged into a computer USB port or a wall plug USB port for charging. When not in use, the cord can be wound around the base and held in place with a detachable cover. A fully charged unit will stay charged for 2 to 3 weeks. You can keep it on the charger between every use or you can wait and charge it when it is low. I asked Philips which method they suggested and they said I could do it either way but suggested I should wait and only charge it when it is low. App: Before use, you should consider installing the Philips Sonicare App on your smart phone. I did this and found it extremely valuable to help me brush my teeth as well as possible. You don’t need to use the app to use this brush, but I found the app helpful. Setting up the app was easy. It found my toothbrush immediately and I began using it right away. Also keeps track of dental appointments and lets you create a report for your dentist if you wish to. Use: When brushing your teeth with the toothbrush, you can select different brush heads for cleaning, whitening, or gum care. There is also a head for tongue scrubbing. You also have a choice of 3 different intensity modes. If you don’t use the app, the toothbrush handle lights up if you are using too much pressure. You have choices of different modes (cleaning, whitening, gum, and deep clean). The toothbrush will beep after a specified time reminding you to move your toothbrush to a new location in your mouth as you brush. In the cleaning mode, it gives you six 20 second intervals and beeps between each interval. (For example, right top, middle top, left top, right bottom, middle bottom, left bottom.) If you use the app, you can connect your toothbrush via Bluetooth to the app and watch the app while it shows you where to brush and for how long in addition to the beep reminders on the toothbrush. It also tells you on the app if you are applying too much pressure, which I found helpful to train me how to use it properly. After brushing, you get a report that shows how well you did. For example, on my first attempt, it showed me that I applied too much pressure a few times and in the report afterward, it showed that I didn’t do well enough on my inner lower left teeth. On my second attempt, I did much better. Also, it asks you if flossed, used mouth rinse, and scrubbed, so you can keep a record of that. Brush heads: The unit arrived with 3 cleaning brush heads, 2 gum brush heads, 2 whitening brush heads, and 1 tongue scrubber head. Both the app and the toothbrush itself will let you know when it is time to replace the brush head. Several of the features can be deactivated if you don’t need or want them. This includes the brush head replacement reminder, the pressure sensor, and the easy-start mode. Pros: Travel Case that doubles as a charger, Multiple brush heads included, Brushing Pacer reminder, Replace brush head indicator, Unique and attractive charging station, Three sensitivity levels, Multiple modes Pressure sensor, App with record keeping and reports, Dental appointment reminders on app, Rechargeable with long lasting charge Although, I didn’t need it, the Easy Start mode lets you gradually get used to the toothbrush over a period of time. Cons: None

A just about perfect dental solution!!

I have had dental issues for most of my adult life and spent more in dental bills in the past 20 years than I have in medical bills and that includes beating cancer. So if that doesn't tell you that I'm someone who needs the very best toothbrush that money can buy then I don't know what will. My Phillips Sonicare 9700 is an upgrade from a duo pack that my wife and I purchased 2 years ago for about $150. So after this there is nowhere to go as this is the flagship toothbrush that Phillips offers. My particular issue is a gum issue in which, if any bacteria are on my teeth at all, will cause my gums to attack the teeth and create holes in them. Which means that tooth has to be removed. I tell you this because this is the most important reason for needing clean teeth. Sure I get my teeth professionally cleaned by a dental hygeniest at a periodontist (deeper cleaning than a regular dentist) every three months but I also need the very best home solution. Enter the 9700 Smart Toothbrush. When I received the 9700 I was immediately deeply impressed by the packaging. This looks less like a toothbrush and more like a high end video card. It came packaged with multiple brush heads, a jar and a recharging station. To be honest it was a bit overwhelming. However after reading the instructions and unpacking everything it all was very simple. You must download an app and be registered on the Phillips side, which I had done beforehand. For my first brushing (the toothbrush comes charged, but you are supposed to charge it for 24 hours after your first use) I chose the gum care, because that is what I need. The app synced up quite easily and surprisingly enough the brushing showed me what was happening in real time on the app, showing areas of my gums I needed to hit as I brushed. There are several programs to use and each program has a different brushhead which is why there are many brush heads that come with the unit. After having used the toothbrush for over a week now I can safely say that, according to the app, I was brushing with way too much motion and, again, because of the app, I have corrected my brushing technique. The app does track your history and shows how many more brushings you can get out of the current brush head which is awesome. All in all I'd highly recommend the Phillips Sonicare 9700 Smart Brush. Sure it's expensive but its value is immeasureable in the money that it will save you in dental bills. The only reason I do not give it a perfect, five star rating is that I believe for the price they could have included a antibacterial chamber to clean the brush heads like the previous duo that my wife and I got two years ago. For me, however, I can go ahead and use that brush chamber with this toothbrush so it is not a big deal. Two thumbs up, if this doesn't help make your dentist happy then I can't imagine what will!!

I am longtime user of the DiamondClean toothbrush, but the DiamondClean Smart 9700 was a worthy upgrade. One of the major annoyances for me with the original DiamondClean toothbrush was that the power button and mode button were assigned to the same one button. This made it a hassle to switch modes because the brush would need to be powered on and vibrating before you can switch modes. On the 9700, the power button and mode buttons are two separate buttons. Another thing that eventually came to be an annoyance was the USB port of the travel charging case of the original DiamondClean. It uses a mini-USB cable to charge. When it came out this was fine, but in this day and age, the mini-USB cable is obsolete. The travel charging case that comes with the 9700 comes with the cable connected to the case and hidden in a bottom compartment of the case. This way you don't have to worry about forgetting to bring a USB cable you'll never use unless you're bringing along a very old digital camera. You can still charge the 9700 from a computer's USB through the travel case. The only issue I have with the 9700's case is that it uses a leathery material which feels prone to scratching unlike the original's travel case which felt more rugged and durable. The battery lasts for well over a week in my tests, and I used the White+ mode, which runs for 2 minutes and 40 seconds each brushing session. You can *confidently* go without the hassle of charging if you're leaving somewhere for a weekend. I would even go as far as saying that it will go for a week uncharged just as easy as long as it's only for one user. The main selling point of this toothbrush though is that it's a "smart" toothbrush. It connects to your phone via Bluetooth and in conjunction with its own Sonicare app tracks the movement of brushhead to help log a diary of your brushing. It also shows you the battery life of the brush handle on the app and allows you to update the handle's firmware. The brush logging on the app can be used as a great motivational tool to promote good brushing habits. If only the brush head tracking worked well. For some reason the bluetooth connection with the handle is very finicky and often won't recognize your handle making the use of the app and logging a very frustrating experience. I've found that, the app won't recognize the brush well unless you hold your phone up with your other hand. If I set it down on my sink or prop it up on my bathroom mirror my phone can't recognize the handle. I've installed a handle firmware update since I got the brush and it still hasn't helped any bit with the connection issues. When it does work, it does a good job it getting you into the habit of good brushing. After the brush session ends it will give you reminders about using mouthwash, floss, and tongue scraper. The bottom of the brush handle lights up if and when you apply too much pressure with the brush head to your teeth. Another con about this brush is obviously its high price. However, given the number of brush heads included with it, I feel the price feels justified. The brush looks great, and though it looks slippery it actually feels grippy on hand. If you're willing to look past its crappy connection issues, this is a superb electric toothbrush, better than the original DiamondClean. If you're buying this to rely on the smart features and help motivate you to brush properly and consistently more than anything else I would probably wait on this either until they come up with a fix to make it more reliable or wait until it goes on sale because it really is a great toothbrush that's worth the investment. If you're coming from a manual toothbrush, you will never want to go back to a manual toothbrush ever again.

This new Sonicare toothbrush combines great looks with great performance, thoughtful design, and a robust app to help improve oral hygiene. Pros: - Great design - Will make your mouth and teeth feel clean and fresh every time - Compact brush head is comfortable and easy to use even for hard to reach back teeth - Outstanding travel case with included USB charging connection - Easy to use app that generally works well, but is entirely optional Cons - Replacement brush heads are $29 / 2 pack, with some specialty ones costing more, but they do claim to last several months each. - Some minor early app connection issues Design - The charger is comprised of a very nice glass (for drinking or rinsing) that sits on a metallic-finish charging base. The glass itself looks and functions like any other, but when the glass is on the stand and the toothbrush is left in the glass, the battery recharges wirelessly. Very clever design that leaves your bathroom counter looking tidy. - The brush itself is beautifully designed and well built. A range of colors are available (mine is dark blue and looks great). Controls are simple, with one button to change modes (each lights up a separate indicator light) and one button to turn the brush on. - An outstanding travel case is included. Not only does it house the brush base + two brush heads, it includes a USB cable that you can extend and plug into a cell phone charger or laptop to charge the brush while on the road. Brilliant design! Function I've always likes the way Sonicare brushes feel in action and this one is better than ever with a newly updated brush head that is more compact and very comfortable to use, even in hard to reach areas at the back of the mouth. This brush cycles through 6 regions of your mouth (vs. the 4 that is more common on other units), beeping each time you need to move on. A wide range of brush heads are provided, each offering emphasis on a different element of oral hygiene from plaque removal to gum health. The brush adapts the brushing style based on the brush head you attach. I've been using the plaque removal head (three of which are included in the box) and it feels great. App Experience The Sonicare app allows you to pair the brush to your phone via Bluetooth and have the app guide your brushing and keep records of when and how long you brushed. Unlike some other brushes, this one has sensors built into the head that allow the app to determine which group of teeth you're brushing so the screen can monitor your progress and ensure that you cover each section fully. At the end of the session, the app will guide you to touch up any areas that you missed. The visual cues are easy to follow and it works quite well. I had a couple of issues with needing to turn Bluetooth off and on again in order to get the brush to connect, but I assume this will be worked out over time. All in all this is a high end product in every sense. Great design that would be at home in any high end home and great performance that will leave your teeth feeling clean every time. Highly recommended.

First of all, this is truly a dental care system rather than simply an electric toothbrush. While it includes a powerful toothbrush, it does much more. The Phillips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart 9700 Rechargeable Toothbrush is a quality item, attractive and fully able to improve almost anyone’s dental health if you follow the easily understood program of your choice. It offers a traveling case with recharging, a stationary charging base, a glass that sets atop the charging base with a glass lid for the glass. You place the toothbrush in the glass where it will stand and is charged inductively. Once charged, you can place the glass top on the glass & set the toothbrush in the slot in the glass top where it will set without further charging until needed. Of course, the glass can be used simply as a glass as well. It comes with 4 different types of brush heads, which have chips to communicate with the toothbrush so it will set the toothbrush automatically for the type of brushing called for by that type of head. The types are Plaque Control, Gum Care, White and Tongue care. It comes with extra brushes. Download the app for either your iPhone or Android phone & it will connect to your toothbrush. The app offers different brushing programs for different needs. It starts with a 14-day program to acclimate yourself and your mouth to the toothbrush and the app. You use the app open while brushing to follow the particular program you want. It will guide you both in time and intensity with the toothbrush providing cues when to move to another sector of your mouth for the desired result. The app will show you where you have missed areas in your mouth in your brushing and redirect you to those places. You can also map areas of your mouth where you may have receding gums, fillings or other special needs so that you can go more lightly there or address those areas separately. If you use too much pressure on the toothbrush with your hand while brushing, it will vibrate and emit a sound to let you know so you can back off some of the hand pressure. The app will tell you when you need to replace brushes based upon intensity and duration of brushing, which it keeps track of, for each head. There is even a calendar in the app that allows you to see how many days your particular program should run and how many days you have before completing it . Of course, you can “manually” set the toothbrush for the intensity you want as well. All in all, this is one well thought out product that will take about 2 minutes or so each regular time you brush after your introductory program and any other specific programs you may want to do. These programs are up to you but are well designed to help. The Philips Sonicare Smart 9700 is probably the ultimate home dental care system available.

    Nah, That’s A Deal Breaker

Our family has used Philips Sonicare toothbrushes for at least 18 years. Of course, one of the 3-year old DiamondClean toothbrushes we suddenly needed to replace jumped off the counter and broke itself... but that is a story for another day. We decided to replace it with the DiamondClean Smart 9700 Rechargeable Toothbrush in Lunar Blue. It is pretty snazzy looking and the feedback you receive DURING brushing clinched the deal because we hoped that feedback would help our handicapped son improve his brushing technique. We returned from the store and downloaded the app on his phone to begin the process of syncing the toothbrush to the app. Oh, gosh, they want an email address they can verify. Not a problem; have a burner email for just this type of occasion. Check. Now they want notification access. I can change it later if it becomes annoying. Check. Then, ‘Do you authorize sharing the phone’s data’ [I’m paraphrasing from memory.] Selected, ‘No, thanks.’ Hmm. The syncing process doesn’t progress. Go out of the app and back in: still there. Read this, read that; progression doesn’t budge. If it won’t accept, ‘No, thanks’, why is it an option? Called Philips Customer Support and learned unless we agree to share the phone’s data with the manufacturer; the app won’t work - we cannot sync the toothbrush to the app. Again. The App Will NOT Work Unless You Give Philips, and Heaven only knows Who Else in all that fine print, ACCESS TO YOUR PHONE’S DATA. For a cutesy app - that may or may not make any difference in my son’s brushing technique – in this day-and-age of data breach-a-paloozas; or purposely selling data to another company who, oopsie, promised not to do this or that… Nah, that’s a deal breaker: That DiamondClean Smart 9700 Rechargeable Toothbrush in Lunar Blue returned to the store from whence it came!

This is by far the best Sonicare toothbrush I have ever used. It looks great, feels good in hand and is much quieter than previous models. There are 2 options for charging using the same base. You can either place the included glass on top of it and set the toothbrush in it, or just use the charging base. The base is a nice copper color and the glass is real glass, not plastic. This brush comes with the charging base, rinse glass, 8 brush heads of different varieties, and a travel case that has a built in USB cord so you can charge the toothbrush in the case rather than having to bring a charging base with you. This shouldn't be an issue on most trips. I usually get around 2 weeks of use with a fully charged battery, but it's a really nice feature to have just in case. Each of the brush heads also have a microchip built in so the brush automatically knows what setting to use based on what brush head you put on. That's a nice feature because older models required you to push a button a few times to get the right setting each time you brushed. Other brushes I've used have annoying lights when they're charging, to the point where you almost don't want to charge it at night if you're anywhere near the bathroom because the lights pulse and light up the room. With this brush, the lights when charging are extremely subtle and don't produce a lot of light. This is on the higher end of prices for a power toothbrush, but you do get a lot included as described above. The reason I took one star off is because of the app. Out of the box, the toothbrush needed a firmware update, which requires the app. It took me probably 20 tries and 30+ minutes of messing with it to get it to actually upload to the brush. They want you to use the app every time you brush, but I don't really see that as being necessary. The brush works fine without out and I'll occasionally check for any updates, but otherwise, the app is buggy, slow, and crashes too often. The rating in the Google Play Store is 2.7, and that's probably about right. Overall, the brush is great and I'm glad Philips has made their brush heads smaller over the years so they get into more places. I'm still undecided on whether the sonicare gets your teeth cleaner than the ones that spin, but this brush does a great job and includes a lot of extras. I would recommend it to a friend.

Well, I never thought that I will spend $280 on a toothbrush. But as I have been using the base Sonicare model for a long time, I know the benefits that you get from this brand. Also, this particular bundle comes with 7 brush heads and 1 tongue paddle, that's around $100 worth of extra stuff right there. But still, it's a decent amount of money. So, if you are ready to spend that much money on a toothbrush, please read on :) This is the most stylish version of Sonicare line that I have owned. It comes with 7 brush heads, 1 travel case with built in charger (extra points right there), a stylish charging plate and a glass on top of it (this can handle all the brush heads if you want to use different ones on different days as they target different areas and intensity). The brush has a long battery life. I usually go around a week without charging it. So, what do I like about it? In my experience with Sonicare line, I have observed that my teeth are cleaner and gums healthier since I have started to use these products. This particular one has 3 different intensity modes (which the handle can automatically select based on the brush head that you are using). It provides you feedback (flashing lights at the bottom) if you apply too much pressure on the teeth or gums. It also has 4 or 5 different cleaning modes. As is the case with everything else now a days, there is an "app" for it too :) I don't find the app very useful as I already has been using Soincare line of products but the app has some nice feature like it can maintain your oral hygiene history, dentist appointments etc. It also provides you feedback if you are moving the brush too fast or if you missed some areas inside your mouth. Initially, I had few issues with connecting the brush handle with my phone but lately it has been smooth. I sync the handle with the app once a week (mostly on the weekends) and it uploads all my weekly data (how many time I brushed etc) to the app. Bottomline: As I said earlier, if you are looking for a best of the class electric toothbrush and are ready to spend good amount of money, you wont be disappointed with this.

This toothbrush has given me quite the experience and exceeded all my expectations. It's like having a dentist right in your home helping you understand how to get the best brushing experience ever. The toothbrush comes with a ton of extra brush-heads and accessories making it really easy to start off in the right direction. The mobile charging case is a great feature for travelling, I always found myself feeling like I needed to reserve battery capacity when I brushed since I didn't pack my home charger on the go. The mobile application asks you a few questions and then recommends an action plan and guides you all the way through brushing. The sensors in the toothbrush are very advanced and know how hard you're brushing, how fast you're brushing, and where you're brushing. I was extremely surprised to see how fast the mobile app tracks the movements of the toothbrush, it will let you know exactly where you need to focus your brushing efforts next. There couldn't be an easier, more interactive, satisfying way to brush your teeth. The toothbrush finish is luxury, I've never seen a toothbrush that looks this sleek, and the charging glass you just set the brush down in when you're down really adds a nice finishing touch. If you're trying to get the best clean with the best toothbrush out there, you don't have to keep looking, this brush has everything! After a few weeks using this toothbrush, I can honestly say my routine has greatly improved, and I feel like my teeth are cleaner than ever. The app could use some minor improvements, but I didn't experience any big issues with it, just noticed some UI improvements that could be made. It makes the app annoying to use so I find myself only using the app occasionally. The toothbrush still functions as normal, but you don't get the immediate feedback reports without using the app. This brush also vibrates at an extremely high frequency. While that vibration is amazing for brushing your teeth, I did find myself having to adjust overtime to the vibration as my teeth are slightly more sensitive to vibration.

I've been using this toothbrush for two week now and the results have been incredible! I previously had a Philips Sonicare that was a little less feature heavy and within the first few days was able to notice a sizable difference in the cleaning efficiency. The companion app and in-handle features that guide you to a better and healthier clean are well worth the cost of the brush. It also comes with a variety of smart brushing heads that are automatically tracked through the app to give you an in-depth look at how much longer they'll last. The higher cost also includes multiples of these, so that offsets it a bit. You can also sign up for a program within the app that will sync with your dentists results, optimize your cleaning experience, and track what has been done and how well it was accomplished. The only drawback is with the initial firmware update that was ready to install upon opening the box is the instructions are vary vague, my advice (and seemingly the only way to install the update) is to use your toothbrush once before attempting and that seems to fix that issue. Aside from that, this product has been incredibly amazing!

In the box you get tons of stuff! The toothbrush handle itself, several different brush types depending on your preference, as well as a tongue scrubber. There is a small glass cup for rinsing which also sits on the charge base so you can place the brush in the glass to charge, although I do not use the glass for rinsing and the brush just sits in there. It also includes a travel case which can also host a place for a couple extra brushes. To get it going, it’s optional, but you can download the app that tracks how you brush, how well you’re brushing, and where you need to concentrate more or less brush time in areas of your mouth. It also tracks the wear on the brush heads and lets you know when to replace them. The app definitely makes it easier to use an electric brush and helps to make sure I’m evenly brushing. Brushing itself was definitely odd at first coming from a traditional brush. After a few uses, I had gotten used to it and could notice it was more effective than a manual toothbrush. The brush automatically sets the brush mode to the optimal settings for the brush head selected. After a few days my teeth felt cleaner and mouth felt fresher. Only downside to this electric toothbrush, is when you remove it from your mouth, be sure that it is off, otherwise you’ll get toothpaste everywhere! It does take some getting used to and setting new habits, but after day 1, this was no longer an issue. The brush doesn’t feel cheap in the hand, and seems well made and cleans easily. I would definitely recommend this brush if you was looking to invest in your teeth!

Pro -Comes with 7 brush heads -Includes travel case with built-in charger -Five cleaning modes -Long battery life -Charging cup can hold extra brush heads Con -Expensive Overall While an expensive electric toothbrush, the Sonicare 9700 packs in a few things that make it a better value ( in some respects ) than the less-expensive models in the Sonicare line. Specifically, it includes seven brush heads and one tongue paddle while many of the sub $150 options include only a single head. If you figure $15 per head, that's roughly $100 worth of extra hardware. The 9700 also comes with a nice travel case ( with slots for two brush heads ). The case acts as a charger as well, which is a nice touch. If you want to get one toothbrush base for the whole family to share, the 9700 at least has the hardware to do so. In terms of extra features, the 9700 adds two additional cleaning modes ( Clean+ and Whitening+ ) over the 6100. The charging station is also much improved. The inductive plate sits beneath a small cup that can also be used to hold the additional brush heads. You can also Philips' tooth brushing app on your phone if you want. Personally, I didn't find it terribly useful. In all, yes, spending $250 - $300 on a toothbrush is a lot of money. However, the cleaning performance is still excellent and getting the extra brush heads, charging travel case, and more useful countertop charge station means it's not all fluff for the money.

I don’t really use the Bluetooth part of it.. I like that the case was redesigned to have a usb A rather than the prior model with usb mini. I kinda wish they had just gone to a usb micro or usb C port rather than having a cable tucked away, but whatever.. just glad to not have to carry a usb mini cable around anymore! I do not like that this new model does not appear to be compatible with the previous model’s charging glass. No idea why that would change. I am not a huge fan of how sensitive the brush is at detecting pressure and dampening the brushing. Many times it’ll cut out on me for too much pressure and I’m not really pressing very hard. I would love to disable this altogether but have yet to figure out if it’s possible I really wanted to mark it 3 stars, but decided that it is still a sonicare and the brand/technology has done wonders for me avoiding cavities for several years now. So bottom line is that it’s the same great sonicare technology, but probably getting more fancy with features than they need to (or should).

The overall aesthetic is greatly improved, with a matte coloring that feels smoother in the hand while not being slick, if that makes sense. Improvements over previous Sonicare models may not be immediately noticeable, but they become more obvious as you use the toothbrush. One of the touted features is an accompanying app that uses sensors in the toothbrush to let you know when you're correctly brushing. Honestly, I don't find the app much of a perk because I don't typically carry my phone into the bathroom. However, there are a lot of nice touches in the accessories. The included clear charging base looks really nice, while keeping a reasonably small footprint. The travel case also looks nice, and comes with a usb connector that let's you charge your toothbrush base while in the case. The different cleaning modes I can't tell if they feel different from previous models, or if it's more of the updated toothbrush heads. Subjectively, I feel like my teeth are "squeakier" clean after using this new model. Then, the smart sensor which automatically flashes a light at the base of the toothbrush while simultaneously decreasing the strength of the motor teaches you to not use more force than necessary brushing. Overall, a very good looking toothbrush, especially with the gold accents, with nice accessories making this more travel-friendly.

So, I've had the original Sonicare toothbrush for a very long time. It's still going strong, but I decided it was time for an upgrade. The fact that this toothbrush connects to an app on your mobile device, via Bluetooth, intrigued me. It's really cool that this toothbrush knows which brush head it has on it, thus knows what you're current brushing goals are. I've tried 3 of the brush heads and all made my teeth feel super clean. I honestly do feel a big difference. Now, regarding the app. At first, I was fascinated with the app. It's cool to be able to see how well you are, or are not, cleaning each area of your mouth. The tricky thing about it is if you spend 1-2 seconds more on one area versus another, the app marks the second area as less clean. The other thing that's a little cumbersome is that you have to have the app running in order for it to record/track your brushing sessions. Honestly, after having this toothbrush for a few weeks now, I'm less motivated to fire up the app every time I brush my teeth. It would be nice if the toothbrush stored a few sessions of data, then it could upload and update the app when you start it up, a couple times a week. However, I'm still happy with the toothbrush and how clean my teeth feel.

Before this toothbrush, I had a no-frills electronic toothbrush. Same basic functionality as this Sonicare toothbrush and it works on my teeth as I wanted it to, making toothbrushing faster. This Sonicare toothbrush, will not make your toothbrushing faster, if that's why you purchase electronic toothbrushes-- in fact it may even make it longer. It could be a little tedious at first: it has an app that compliments the toothbrush. It tailor-fits to your brushing needs and it helps you make sure you follow them-- just like a personal trainer. So don't expect to brush your teeth fast. I like the sensor that tells me if I am pushing too much on my teeth-- it helps take care of the part where your gums and teeth meet. It is a beautiful toothbrush, the design, and the ease of mode selection incorporated in the toothbrush. The glass accessory and the system to charge it makes it easy to keep the device charged without knowingly plugging things in. After getting used to using it with the app, brushing with the app is not as tedious. I sometimes skip the app because I already know what it will tell me, or how to brush my teeth better for my needs. Overall, it helped me improve my brushing habits.

Philips Sonicare toothbrushes do an excellent job of cleaning your teeth; from their entry level models all the way up to their upper end models, like this DiamondClean Smart 9700. So aside from its dashing good looks, what differentiates this model? First, there is the Philips Sonicare App. The toothbrush connects to a downloadable app via Bluetooth (whoever thought we would need a Bluetooth toothbrush?). The app can then track and guide you on your brushing performance, helping you to know if you are applying too much pressure or missing areas. Second, the travel case charges the brush wirelessly via a USB plug. Great for when you're on the road as you don't need to break down your counter-top charging base. Just pack the brush in the case and go. Then there's things like the provided rinse glass that fits to the charging base (yes, its gimmicky, but it does look cool, and it works). And the fact that the package includes a plethora of extra brush heads (this is really nice as the replacement heads tend to be expensive). Overall, does it work? Yes, absolutely, it provides that dentist-office clean feeling right in your home. Is it overkill? Probably.

I got this to replace my old Sonicare electric toothbrush. This thing is really well built with a sleek design. Every brushing feels like it has the same power every time (tried it 9 times already all in different modes). It comes with a years worth of replacement brush heads, a travel case that charges it, and get this... a glass holder that charges the brush by simply placing the handle in it or you can use the plastic stand instead. (of course you have to hook that up to an outlet) It has 5 different cleaning modes and you can change the intensity in each of those modes. This brush comes with bluetooth connectivity which allows you to connect it to your phone or tablet. The app tells you about your brushing history, and pressure, patterns, and brush head age. It can also tell you what area that may need more brushing...etc. Connecting the brush to your phone is easy. Your phone finds it automatically. Its pricey but it includes a year's worth of brush heads. Like I said, this toothbrush is pretty awesome. With the app feature, it takes brushing your teeth to a whole new level.
