Brushing with a built in coach!

My brushing routine just became high tech and more intelligent with this new smart toothbrush from Philips. The Sonicare DiamondClean toothbrush with the Sonicare app, is like having your own personal brushing coach to help you brush better. The toothbrush and app work together to guide you as you brush, offer tips for improving your routine and will alert you in real-time if you are applying too much pressure or are scrubbing too much. It’s a really cool experience and I believe it’s improved my oral health by making me more conscious of my brushing routine. The toothbrush comes as a kit with multiple brush heads, a tongue brush, charging base, glass holder and plastic stand, charging travel case and the owner's guide. There is also a well designed and helpful welcome card to get you started. The first thing you do, after unpacking the brush and accessories, is download the Sonicare app and get it connected to your toothbrush. This only took a minute or two and once my phone was connected to the toothbrush, I chose my brush head and started brushing. Brushing with a power toothbrush requires a different technique from what you use with a traditional toothbrush, something I didn’t realize until I started using the Sonicare DiamondClean. The first few days that I used this, I got a lot of feedback from the app and toothbrush handle, that I was applying too much pressure and that I was scrubbing. Since the power toothbrush uses sonic vibrations to clean your teeth, scrubbing is not needed. Instead the owners manual and training videos recommend that you use a gentle back and forth motion as you glide over your teeth to let the brush do all the work. As simple as this sounds, it does take some time to adjust to the new brushing technique. After decades of applying pressure and scrubbing, it’s a hard habit to break. But don’t worry, the brush handle will alert you every time you use too much pressure and the app will provide real-time scrubbing feedback as you follow the BrushPacer and move along each section of your mouth. The BrushPacer is one of the main smart features that works to make sure you brush evenly by dividing your mouth into 6 sections. You can see these sections in the app, and you can monitor your brushing activity, pressure and scrubbing as you brush in real-time. Both the app and the toothbrush handle alert you when to change to the next section. If you aren’t using the app while brushing, you can feel the brief pauses in vibration as you brush, letting you know when to move onto the next section of your mouth. I recommend that you follow the app for the first few days, as you brush, but once you are familiar with how the BrushPacer works, you don’t really need to watch the app while you brush, any longer. Just check the app periodically to monitor your overall brushing routine and performance. The DiamondClean has 5 different brushing modes to try. Using BrushSync technology, your toothbrush will automatically select the optimal mode and intensity based on the brush head you choose. You can also change modes by pressing the mode button before pressing power. Speaking of power, the toothbrush automatically lights up and turns on when you pick it up. Pressing the power button activates the brush head and pressing the mode button, while the brush head is active, changes the intensity. The different modes are basically variations of the BrushPacer feature, using different brush heads. The BrushPacer sections and times change for each mode. The BrushPacer brushing times range from 2 minutes on Clean mode up to 3 minutes and 20 seconds for the Gum health mode. Once your brushing cycle has completed you can spend additional time brushing the chewing surfaces of your teeth and/or your tongue, with the toothbrush powered on or off. I have been doing this myself, since the modes don’t seem to give me enough time to brush the surfaces of my teeth. But I’m sure my technique will change a bit as I become more familiar with the toothbrush. Another cool feature, which uses the BrushSync technology, is that it tracks the usage of each brush head and alerts you when a brush head needs to be replaced. You can even set it up for automatic replacements to be mailed to you with the Smart Reoders program. I love that the charging stand can be used with either the included glass cup or the plastic stand. The glass cup is great for storing your brush and an extra brush head that you swap between, such as the TongueCare+ head. I also appreciate that it’s made of glass and is easy to keep clean. Another great accessory is the charging travel case with integrated USB cord. This stylish little case can hold your handle, two brush heads and has the USB cord built into the bottom so that you never lose it while you're traveling. I think it’s great that Sonicare includes this as it is a must have for anyone who travels. I’ve been using the Premium All-in-One brush head with the Deep Clean+ mode for the past week and my teeth have never felt more clean! I think I’m even starting to see a bit of a difference with my teeth looking just a little more white, which is a great bonus! It took me a few days to master the BrushPacer, but now that I'm familiar with it, brushing has become much easier than the intense scrubbing I used to do. I'm very satisfied with this toothbrush and would recommend it to anyone looking to improve their oral health.

The Philips Sonicare 9700 Diamond Clean Smart rechargeable electric toothbrush is far from your basic electric model. It is well built, includes seven brush heads of three unique types. These include a Premium All in one which does Plaque removal, Gum Care and Whitening, a two in one which covers Plaque and Whitening, another which does Plaque Remove and Gum Care, and final a Tongue Care only brush head. Key to this model is the inclusion of connectivity via your mobile device to the toothbrush using the Phillips Sonicare app (iOS and Android). The app provides real time feedback and sectional timing (which haptic feedback) to ensure you effectively brush your teeth. The app informs you when you are using too much pressure or moving too quickly. I found the app handy, and it pointed out some of my long-standing brushing habits which perhaps are not effective as I thought. After going through the brushing regiment, I felt like I had a teeth cleaning, not just a brushing. In addition, the app will let you know when it is time to replace your brush heads as well as tracking your overall brushing habits. The handle is well built and has a Power on/off button, intensity indicator, mode/intensity button, mode indicator (which is a lighted word describing the mode), a brush head replacement reminder, battery indicator and a brushing feedback light along the base of the handle. Also included is a USB-A enabled charging/carrying case, a charging glass (which you can use as a rinsing cup, and a standard charging base. When the handle starts charging it provides both visual and haptic feedback. My thoughts on this smart electric toothbrush…it does have a bunch of bells and whistles, the smart app is not needed but at least initially it did provide me some useful feedback regarding my brush style. I am not sure I will continue to use the app, as it seems a bit of a novelty item. However, if you need to have the best brushing experience, including feedback on your brushing style and effectiveness, this is a desirable model. And for you data nerd, it collect metrics on your brushing sessions, then this is the model for you. On the front of the handle is a battery charge indicator, which provides you a visual indicator of the battery state, an visual indicator of when you need to replace the brush head. Overall, I am happy with this unit and have yet to find anything that I don’t like about it, the inclusion of all the accessories and multiple brush heads are great. As for the brush heads, the top of the line genuine “A3” offering are not the cheapest to replace, depending on how durable and lasting they are you may be in for some sticker shock when it is time to replace them. Although there are other replacement versions you can buy, including the version that just does Plaque and Whitening. I am unsure if non-Phillips brands are compatible with the smart functions. >>> Pros >> Mobile connectivity via Bluetooth >> App that provides you with real time brushing feedback >> Ample supplied brush heads >> included charging accessories, including the stand and brush cup <<< Cons << The electric brush kit is a bit on the pricey side of electric toothbrushes << Consumables (brush heads) can get expensive, will have to see how that works out.

    The Rolls Royce of Toothbrushes

I've been a believer in the Sonicare electric toothbrush for many years - and had the positive dental outcomes to back that up - so when this new model came out, I was intrigued to see what made it better/different than the existing model that was due for a replacement. All the new features seemed interesting, but do they add up to a real difference? The answer, I'm happy to report, is yes they certianly do! This package comes with a lot - 6 brush heads in 3 different types that should keep you brushing for a long time, a tongue cleaner, a travel case and the charging glass in addition to the toothbrush itself. The charging glass is cool - instead of the old plastic charging bases, you get an actual glass (it's even etched with the Philips Sonicare logo) that sits on top of an induction charger, so you can put the toothbrush in the glass to charge like you would a manual one and then wash the glass when it's dirty. It looks much nicer on the counter and is a cool addition. The toothbrush itself works fine on its own with multiple settings and options on the brush but really comes to life when you connect it to your phone via bluetooth (I have an iPhone and it was a VERY easy experience downloading the app and connecting the toothbrush with no manual settings to change). The app allows you not just to see the settings but also tracks your brushing time, telling you where to brush and tracking how you do. It seems quite accurate and also coaches you if you're moving the brush too fast or applying too much/too little pressure with it. In my first brushing, it turns out I missed a spot so it told me at the end to go back and get it which is brilliant. It also asks if you remembered to rinse/floss which are good reminders for positive oral health, and tracks how you do over time as well as reminding you when it's time to change the head on the toothbrush so you don't overuse a worn out brush head. These are great add on features that should really help ensure I'm getting the most out of the toothbrush over time. Now, all that said, at the end of the day this is a Sonicare toothbrush - you still get a great clean for your teeth and should have a happy dentist, but you can get that from the more entry models. Are the extras with this model / package nice? Certainly they are! But they're not "required" - much in the same way both an entry model economy car and a Rolls Royce can get you to where you're going, this toothbrush and an entry Sonicare can get you clean teeth. One just gives you a better and easier experience doing it. So if that better/easier experience is worth the price of entry to you - and it is to me - I can certainly recommend this toothbrush!

The Philips Sonicare 9700 is quite possibly the pinnacle of teeth cleaning technology. This kit in particular is equipped with everything that you need to start elevating your dental care journey both at home and on the go. Overall I thought that the design of the toothbrush with its lunar blue color and rose gold accents gave it a premium look and feel. The charging base and included cup is actual glass has a nice weight to it. The case seems to be wrapped in a sort of artificial leather and seems like it will hold up to a frequent traveler's demands. The case holds the toothbrush along with spots for two heads and also includes a built-in USB behind a cover on the bottom so that you can keep your toothbrush charged for those extended trips. This particular toothbrush comes 4 different types of toothbrush heads including one specially designed for your tongue. Swapping heads intelligently switches between different cleaning modes and routines for helping guide you through your clean. There is a wireless charging base which a glass or charging adapter sits on top of. You can either place your toothbrush in the glass to charge or substitute the adapter which allows you to charge your toothbrush completely upright. The toothbrush has a app that you can pair it with to update it and also track and coach your cleaning sessions. This is a smart toothbrush with an array of sensors so it can keep track of it’s position and the force being applied to the head to map out how and where you clean or areas where you might need to give some additional attention to. You can view the history of your cleaning as well as set focus areas (for example areas where you have bleeding gums or potential cavities) in the app so that you are reminded of them when you are brushing your teeth while using the app. The base of the toothbrush flashes purple to let you know too much pressure is being applied and the vibration cues help to pace you cleaning ensuring that every part of your mouth is addressed. Overall, after using clean and gum health heads along with the tongue head I feel like I’m well on my journey to a cleaner mouth. Cool to see technology applied in a way where I can track my mouth cleaning over time while getting active feedback on how I can do a better job. If only I had this when I was younger because it kind of makes brushing your teeth fun again!

There are several things that my parents taught me you should not cheap out on. Shoes, tires, bed to name a few. My own addition to that list is teeth. You should really not cheap out on dental care. I definitely disregarded it in my younger days and had to pay the price (literally) to fix them. Now I will do whatever it takes to keep them healthy. Upfront, you will note that the quality of the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean is there. You definitely won't be holding it and think where did all that money go. Not that aesthetics of a TOOTHBRUSH should matter BUT if you are paying a premium for it, it better look the price. It feels good in the hand and I had no complaints about the design. How does it actually brush? I love it. The pressure sensors are amazing. I really did not realize how hard I was brushing. I have had issues with gum recession so this really did help me out alot. I am a bit skeptical of EVERYTHING these days being "smart" and/or "needing an app" (especially for brushing your teeth) but Philips actually incorporated it pretty well. It was easy to sync and set up and you can see real-time on the app your brushing. It definitely has changed some of my brushing habits. All in all, dental care is something to invest in. I have already learned from using this toothbrush. I think this is definitely something to look into if you are trying to improve your oral care game.

The Diamondclean Smart toothbrush from Sonicare is a premium toothbrush with everything you need to up your teeth and breath game. Unboxing this sonicare and you realize the presentation is well thought out and high quality for Philips. Inside the box you see they also did not skimp on the attachments and features. The toothbrush itself is a sleek blue/black with gold at the top where you plug in the head. A beautifully designed brush. You also have 6 toothbrush heads, 1 tongue cleaner, 2 charging docks as well as a travel charging case that plugs into a usb port. If you know the price of sonicare replacement heads you know that having the extra heads is a cost savings even though this toothbrush is on the higher priced side. Normally a sonicare will only come with 1 charging dock, this one comes with the stand up version and the cup version, which is nice as you can choose which one fits your lifestyle better. I chose the cup since you can just pop it in the clear cup and it begins charging. This toothbrush really shines with the Sonicare App. Upon downloading the app the brush synced up quickly and off to brushing you go. It shows a visual of your teeth and then times you while you are brushing while letting you know when you should move to the next section of teeth or spend some more time where you're at. It also give you alerts if you are brushing too hard or too soft. I was actually surprised how off I was as far as brushing time. Turns out I wasn't brushing quite enough and I also use too much pressure. Rest assured your habits of brushing will be changed after using this brush for a while and your dentist will thank you. All in all this is a high quality nice looking toothbrush with a premium feel. This is not your vibrating toothbrush of the past, this is the real deal. The price is a little steep for my liking but it's an investment in yourself, your health and your smile.

This is the Rolls Royce of toothbrushes, it’s by far the best electric toothbrush I’ve ever used and I’ve used quite a few. The overall design is sleek, I love the color and the button placement. The heads are extremely easy to replace. The wireless charging glass is also neat. Setting up the glass and charging base is easy and when you drop your toothbrush in the toothbrush will beep/vibrates twice to indicate that it’s charging so you’re never left wondering if it’s actually working. Makes life very simple when you’re groggy in the mornings getting ready for work. One of the best things about this toothbrush is how it knows what heads your using and changes the intensity to maximize the use of each head. This is something I’ve never experienced before in a toothbrush and it’s not a gimmick, it really makes a difference. It’s also app enabled and it’s pretty awesome, even down to telling you what parts of your mouth needs to be cleaned and after you finish it will also let you know where you didn’t clean so well and does a touch up. The main thing about this toothbrush is that it makes my mouth feel like I just left the dentist each morning with super smooth glossy teeth, this things cleans like no other and just that on its own makes this a must have

Many years ago, my dentist told me to go to an electric toothbrush to save my gums. Like many, I thought harder was better Over this span of time, besides countless brush heads replaced, I have upgraded with the newest and greatest technology I have also switched back and forth between this Phillips brand and th other European top brand, I have also stayed at the upper ends of the lines, often with the top model When my last one from another brand was showing it's age (it still worked fine) I decided it was time for a new one Since I also trust the Phillips line of home products, I decided to change back and to give this one a try As with most new products today, the packaging had the environment in mind. A lot of thought went into maximizing product protection, while also minimizing any excessive or non recyclable materials Set-up was super easy. I chose the glass charger option over the low profile stand (both are included) which provides a little bit of style and "cool factor" The downloaded able app is a nice feature, but I don't want to be bothered having to start it when I brush my teeth There is included a multitude of brush heads, and I chose the deep clean one to start I can say that this thing hums. Not in a loud way, but the speed is many times faster than other brands (my perception). It does tickle your nose a bit, but it is well worth it After just the first few days, I am seeing a brightening and removal of stubborn stains, but most of all, I get that "just back from the dentist" feeling. Yea, my teeth feel that clean This is not a cheap investment, but the results in my opinion justify the expense

I’ve been using one of the best generic toothbrushes off of Amazon and I thought that was pretty good. Until I got my hands on this! I’m amazed at all the technology they have packed into such a small package. The Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart 9700 is so good that my wife went out and bought one too. The three different intensities low medium and high are great depending on who is using it. I find I like medium the most. Makes my mouth feel so clean. I tried high but that’s too hard for my liking. The wife uses it on low as she has sensitive teeth. This has 5 different brushing modes along with the three speeds so there are plenty of options for everyone. I love the charging cup it’s quite cool in my opinion and it’s easily cleanable with just a quick rinse under the sink. This pack came with 6 different brush heads although I’m happy with the standard head the others have a specific purpose, whitening, gum care ect. Another great item that comes with this is a charging travel case. Just place the toothbrush into the case and plug in the usb cord that is attached and that’s it. It’s a nice travel case too. The price is steep but I think it is worth it for those that truly care for their teeth. This is the brush to get. There is an app that you can download to sync with your toothbrush. I’ve yet to download it though as my phone is generally never near the bathroom when brushing my teeth.

I want to start out by saying that I have used a number of different electric toothbrushes. Nothing compares to the sonicare brand regardless of what version/type you’re using. That being said the diamond clean has all the bells and whistles that make a truly noticeable difference, even compared to other sonicare toothbrushes. A lot of the key differences are in the combination of using the toothbrush with the app. It syncs up with the toothbrush and lets you know where you need the most attention, where your cleaning should be focused when you go to the dentist, and other things that you wouldn’t even know about without the toothbrush. I have to say, even with the new technology we see on almost a daily basis these days, that was still pretty amazing to me. Maybe because I never even thought about features like that for a toothbrush of all things. Yeah, the price is up there but because of how it focuses on possible problem areas, teaches you where your teeth might need more attention, etc. it can save you a ton of money in the long run by keeping your teeth/mouth cleaner and healthier. I really was a bit skeptical that a toothbrush could offer enough to warrant this price tag…it proved me wrong and showed me again why sonicare really still is the best option for electric toothbrushes.

Prepare... to be... BLOWN AWAY... (or brushed away in this case!) This is a full and complete set including multiple heads of varied hardness , a charger base, and brushing unit. It's enough for 2 people , more if you don't mind buying brushing heads when they wear out instead of using the included ones as spares. There's not a lot to the setup - charge the base, select your brushing head, install the app to your phone. Once you've paired your phone to the base, a one-time calibration is required which will tell the app how you brush. It will tell you how to adjust your brushing and how firmly you brush, but be sure to do both sides of your teeth (inside and outside).. Both me and my wife have used this for several days now. We are SERIOUSLY impressed with how clean our teeth have been getting using this brush. Definitely getting that "fresh from the dentist/hygenist" feel! Even throughout the day we had that fresh feeling ! If you have the budget, this is not just a gimmick - this brush is worth every penny if you like that super-fresh super-clean teeth feeling!
