I used an earlier version of a Sonicare toothbrush so I have years of experience with them. I would estimate my dental cleanings were reduced from a painful 45 minutess/1 hour to under 35 minutes. That is total time, the biggest time reduction was the amount of time the tech spends scraping tartar. My teeth are visibly cleaner/whiter if I use a whitening toothpaste and my mouth is overall more healthy than before I started using it. The Protective Clean 6100 offers some additional features over my prior model that I think are worth the price. Has 3 speed settings - There is a pressure sensor which gently warns you by pulsing its speed creating a rhythmic sound if you press the toothbrush too hard. . This is not only good for your gums but also helps in making the brush heads (which are expensive) last longer - Brush head replacement reminder indicator. - If you utilize the stock brush head replacements it will automatically select between the 3 available modes (Clean, White or Gum Care). You always however have the option to select the mode manually. These brush heads do come at a cost though. - This model comes standard with the Diamond clean (HX6063/65) chip enabled brush head. Which is really the same brush head as the regular DiamondClean head HX6063/64 with an additional embedded chip - Quadpacer, Li-Ion battery resulting in a slimmer handle than some others. A timer lets you know when your done. - Travel Case is included. I have used mine for two full weeks without charging so travel without the charger is possible. In a world of gimmicky things this turns out to not be one of them. I can't recommend enough replacing your toothbrush with a Sonicare.

I must admit, I was a bit nervous to try using this new toothbrush. I have very sensitive teeth, and they are usually bothered by any dental tools that vibrate, as well as with temperature. The toothbrush comes with one head that can easily be removed, a plug-in charger, and the body of the brush. It comes fully charged, and the box says to charge it for about 24 hours after the first use. I did not read the instructions before using the toothbrush, and on Day 1, I quickly discovered that I should have. The power was so strong that I got toothpaste all over my face and in my eye. After wanting to quit using it after about 30 seconds, I realized that if you push the second white button (the circular button underneath the ON button), you can change the level of power. Brilliant. Day 2 was much easier than Day 1. I didn’t have any sensitivity problems after the first day, and this time I knew that I shouldn’t start on the highest level. I was on Level 2 for almost the whole time, and then switched to Level 1 at the end. I have been using the toothbrush for three days, and I really like it. I feel that my teeth are cleaner than they usually are. I have noticed that my teeth are starting to become a bit whiter. I am a coffee drinker, and my teeth are stained from that. Thanks to the toothbrush, I think the stains are becoming better. My teeth also felt a bit smoother. I have had zero sensitivity concerns, which is an amazing result! I am looking forward to continuing with the toothbrush!

This is my first electric toothbrush and I'm liking it so far. Having the three power settings is nice because at first the lowest setting was about all I could stand. It seems to be pretty powerful. After a couple of days, though, I moved up to the next setting and am getting used to that. The only downside I've noticed so far is the cost of replacement heads. However, if it gets your teeth as much cleaner as they say then it's worth it to me. The weight and balance of the brush is just right so it's easy hold on to and maneuver around while brushing. The charging stand is sealed from water, is heavy enough it stays in place, and works very well to hold the brush when not in use. This model has three different modes (clean, white, and gum care) as well as the three different power levels for each. The brush does give you feedback if you're pushing too hard, although so far I haven't found myself doing that very often. The special sync heads are supposed to let the tool adjust correctly for the brush type, and it also keeps track of the usage so it'll remind you when to replace the head. If, like me, you plan to order more brush heads and switch off with your spouse then that will probably confuse the usage tracking. However, the brushes do still have the "reminder bristles" that fade with use so you can tell when to replace that way as well. This is a solid toothbrush that's fun to use and seems to get my teeth very clean. Time will tell if it's significantly better than brushing the old fashioned way.

Pro -Excellent cleaning -Long battery, over two weeks between charges -Lots of different head options -Multiple modes and intensities Con -Comes with only one head -Heads are expensive, but that goes for all electric toothbrushes -No travel case ( at least not my package ) -Charging base could be better Overall The Sonicare 6100 does an excellent job in cleaning your teeth. Really gets in the nooks between and almost makes you feel like you don't need to floss. The toothbrush has various modes for cleaning, whitening, and plaque removal. You can select modes manually, but the handle will also automatically switch depending on what kind of brush head you use. The handle also has an internal timer that buzzes every 30 seconds so you can make sure you brush long enough and spend an equal amount of time on each section of your teeth. The battery lasts for a long time between charges ( so far I've gone over two weeks without recharging yet ). Overall, the cleaning performance is quite good. The downsides are more what you don't get in the box. My particular box didn't come with a travel case, though some models do. It also only comes with one brush head, which is disappointing. The charging base is very small, which might be nice for portability, but is not all that useful on the bathroom countertop. It would have been nice if it had slots to hold extra brush heads or something.

    Great Technology for a Toothbrush

Firstly, I just wanted to say that the amount of extra technology features for the price of this model is great! The key feature I was very impressed with and was great to have was the pressure sensitivity in that the handle would vibrate when I was brushing too hard and with having sensitive gums this feature is definitely a great change of pace compared to typical electric toothbrushes. This ties into the ability to actually have 3 modes, which essentially comes down to 3 intensities, but if your teeth or gums one day may be sore there is the ability to decrease the sensitivity by switching to the “gum care” mode. There are numerous features that come with all electric toothbrushes nowadays, but these 2 definitely stood out to me while using this toothbrush. The asthetics of the toothbrush are also great which is a welcome sight since it sits on our bathroom counter at all times and its nice to have a quality looking product, but the actual carrying case that is including is great to have while traveling so that you can take it with you hassle free without having to take a traditional toothbrush or figuring out how to cover the brush head. Overall, this toothbrush is definitely worth it for the money as I had used a couple cheaper model electric toothbrushes in the past, but I have definitely learned to just buy a good quality product that will last when it comes to something like this that we all use everyday.

I've never actually owned or thought about owning an electric toothbrush. However, my dentist has been recommending that I get one for several years now so here we are. It was very easy to assemble and comes charged out of the box. The first time I used it I didn't realize I had it on the highest intensity setting and I almost wrote it off because it was a bit much for me. I turned it down to the lowest intensity mode will gradually bump it up to the higher modes as needed. My dentist told me to hold the brush on each area for about 1-2 seconds then move onto the next. There is a timer built-in that will alert you subtly to move to the next quadrant of your mouth. You don't scrub your teeth like you would with a normal toothbrush. After each brush I can't help but notice how clean my teeth feel. I can't think of any reason why you wouldn't want to use this everyday except for the fact that it does not come with a travel case. One more tip, use a small amount of toothpaste and put the brush into your mouth prior to turning it on or else you might send toothpaste flying. =) Pros: Simple to use Timer to help you brush for recommended amount of time Charged out of the box Clean, Whiten, and Gum Care modes Brushhead Replacement Indicator Compact Charger Cons: Takes a few days to get used to. No travel case - only a small cap for brushehead

The 6100 is a very nice rechargeable toothbrush. It comes charged and ready to go right out of the box, though Philips recommends you charge it after first use. There are three intensity settings and three brushing settings, thus providing several combinations of choices for operation. It also features a timer program that beeps after about each 30 seconds of use to better ensure your brushing time is within recommended 2 minute timeframe for brushing. I can’t speak to whether the whitening function actually works, because I haven’t had the devise long enough to know that. However, combined with a whitening toothpaste, it probably is effective. While I like the 6100, there are two things I consider shortcomings, hence the 4 star rating. First, an annoyance: the brush itself is very small, and the first couple of times I tried using the device, the toothpaste fell off before I got it into my mouth. So, I use extra care in getting it to my mouth. Second, the 6100 comes with only one brush. If you are sharing the device with anyone or just need a replacement for yourself, you will need to purchase new brushes, and they can be a bit pricey. Overall, the 6100 is a good product, and I would recommend it with the caveat of the two things I deem shortcomings. If they wouldn’t bother you, go for it.

My wife and I have been using the Philips Sonicare electric toothbrush system for a few years now since our dentist gave us a coupon for our first one. We've enjoyed the system, wearing out two so far. Our last Sonicare needed to be replaced when the lithium battery failed. I purchased the 6100 model from Best Buy because I had a number of Rewards to use. First, the 6100 is well-built and doesn't feel cheap. It works with the earlier model brush heads we'd stocked up with its predecessor, but it did come with a "smart" head that measures wear (so our next replacements will be the later model heads). The unit was ready to do with an on-going charge, but the instructions recommended a 24-hour charge. So far it runs quite well and certainly keeps a good charge (we'd gone on vacation for 11 days, unplugged the unit and it still ran at full power upon our return). So, we'd recommend the 6100 for those wanting an electric toothbrush. It isn't cheap, but it is well built and the replacement heads are easily found. It also comes with a travel case, which we'll try out next vacation.

I know a lot of reviews tend to skew toward the positive, but folks when I say this Sonicare toothbrush is a must buy, I mean it! It comes with all you need to charge and operate this little jewel. The charging stand is about the size of a half dollar and the toothbrush just stands on it to charge. The toothbrush itself as several modes for whitening, cleaning and others and also has "pause" built in so you know it's time to move to a different section of your mouth. The brush head is equipped with an RFID chip to identify if it is the right brush for that model, what it's goal is, if you're brushing too hard and to tell you it's time to get a new one. Exchanging the brush heads is really simple, just a quick pull or push. But the most important part, does it clean well? Absolutely! In fact, I think my teeth are actually cleaner than when I leave my Dentist's office. This thing vibrates at speeds I could not replicate if I wanted to. It gets rid of all plaque and debris quickly and leaves a good clean feeling. A new user might need to start out a little slow to get used to the vibration, and never take the brush out of your mouth when it's running; it makes a mess quickly if you do. By far the best toothbrush I have ever owned and well worth it's price! Good Shopping!

Setup is a cinch: Install the brush head, and away you go. My brush arrived fully charged and the handle automatically configures itself to the particular head you install. Based on the mode selected, the handle will guide you through your brushing routine. It will alert you to if you are applying too much pressure, alert you when to switch to a new quadrant in your mouth, and shut off automatically when you should be done. It took me some time to adjust my routine to match that of the brush, but I believe my results are now better because of it. This is my first electric toothbrush. As such, it did take me some time to acclimate to the recommended high-intensity setting. But after using it this way for awhile, my mouth feels dentist-office clean all the time now. One other thing to consider: The smart brush heads that go with this handle are currently pretty expensive...and there's only one in the box. It may be possible to use a non-smart generic with the handle, and just select the mode yourself, but I have not been able to verify this yet. If the handle does still work with a generic, you would lose the auto-settings and head replacement warning. That said, the product is solid and the results are worthwhile.

Using a manual toothbrush for basically my entire life, I didn't know what I was missing with a sonic toothbrush. This toothbrush creates 31,000 brush-strokes per minute. Why is this important? Other than the obvious - it whips your toothpaste into a micro-foam, letting it get in between your teeth and under the gumline. After using it for just a couple of days now, I can notice a big difference already. My teeth basically sparkle! I have some relatively sensitive dental work, and this does not bother it one bit. In fact, it will alert you if you are pressing too hard. All you really have to do is turn it on, and gently move the brush back and forth. If there is one negative, I would have to say to make sure you do not accidentally hit your teeth with the back of the brush. This isn't really a design flaw, but more of a person getting used to using the brush. It doesn't hurt when this occurs, but if it occurs at 0630 in the morning, it *will* wake you up! All in all, this may just be the perfect sonic toothbrush out there. Sure, there are other budget brands that are cheaper, but you aren't getting the best brushing then. Pick this up!

I am absolutely grateful that I have had the chance to test this toothbrush out. It is fantastic! The overall appearance is sleek and cool. The carrying case has a cheap feel compared to some of the other Sonicare models. This is not a deal breaker because it is still a quite functional little case. My first brushing was an interesting experience. I would not describe it as a dentist feel but something else more like just a tickling sensation on my gums. Nevertheless, after two or three uses that went away. However, right after the first use the feeling of clean was exquisite. Let me say that again, next to a dental cleaning there is nothing compared to these Sonicare toothbrushes. There are wide varieties of heads but my favorite is the Diamond. The internal timer is a champion and makes me feel like a real adult when I brush for solid two-minutes. The battery does not die, like ever. Seriously, the outside of the box says two weeks and after one week the battery is still as strong as the first initial use preceding the 24-hour first charge. Not much more, I can say other than this is necessary have for anyone.

ProtectiveClean 6100 Rechargeable Toothbrush Included- Handle, Smart brush head, travel cap, Charging base, instructions, and 2 year warranty. This new Sonicare toothbrush looks clean and sleek. The toothbrush is super smart. It will custom clean your teeth depending on what settings you choose. There are 3 cleaning modes- clean, white and gum care. There are also 3 different intensity settings- low, medium, high. It has the technology to tell you when to replace your brush head, notify you when you are brushing too hard and need to reduce the pressure, and has a timer that beeps every 30 seconds to help you brush all four areas of your mouth. This brush has pretty much every smart option available without having to use the Sonicare app with their Smart toothbrush. I actually prefer this one because of that. I don't want to have to rely on the app to see my brushing results and have it work to it's fullest ability if it's paired with the phone. I like that this Sonicare offers me all the settings on it's own. It's not complicated. I can have the cleanest teeth and all the cleaning options.

I've had this Sonicare for a couple of days now and am very happy with the results so far. Honestly, there's a lot less effort required to brush your teeth well with a Sonicare, it basically does the work for you. With a manual toothbrush, I was always told to brush in small circular motions. Does anyone actually do that consistently? I usually just go back and forth. The Sonicare does all of that for you. I can literally feel the difference, my teeth feel smoother and cleaner. I also like that this brush has different settings, not only speed but also for Clean, White, and Gum Care. Now, you're supposed to have different toothbrush heads that optimize each setting, but so far I only have the one brush head that comes with it. But based on the results I'm seeing so far, I plan to buy the other heads as well. My one warning is to not go too fast when brushing. I have a somewhat smaller mouth and if I rush, it definitely isn't pleasant to have the back of the brush it your teeth. But overall this is an excellent product. I feel like Sonicare just keeps improving.

I was looking to purchase an electric toothbrush and was happy to review this one. First off I like the fact it comes with a charge so you can use it right away and the charge overnight after the first time. The timer function is good as most don't brush long enough. All 3 setting have different times depending on your choice. The only downfall I see to it this far is if your mouth isn't closed toothpaste goes everywhere. It does leave your teeth feeling much cleaner than a traditional toothbrush does. The charge lasts a good long while and it let's you know to charge it beforehand if you pay attention to the light. The fact it lights up anytime it is touched is also a nice feature for someone like me who tends to knock things over in the dark. I like pressure sensor feature as it stops if your pushing to hard. I think they have made a lot of efforts with this brush to help people have good dental hygiene with minimal effort/thought on the part of the consumer.

This brush is very easy to use and leaves my mouth feeling clean. It also had the ability to help you brush more efficiently. It will beep when you should switch to a new section of your teeth. It's not a loud annoying beep either, very subtle. My dentist also recommended I switch to a modern electric toothbrush, since I tend to press really hard when I brush. This helps me with that as well. It will pulse when I'm applying too much pressure. It is also much quieter than other electric toothbrushes I've heard in the past. Pros: easy to use, quiet, pressure warning, audible sound when to switch teeth, nice charging stand Cons: I wish it had come with some of the other brushes to try

I currently use a Philips Diamond Clean Sonicare toothbrush at home and wanted a second Sonicare to use just for travel. The 6100 is great it for this purpose. One charge has always lasted me through multi-day trips and should handle multi-week trips as well. There are a lot of toothbrushes out there in the market that vary in performance and cost etc. Here are the major reasons I like the 6100. With tens of thousands of brush strokes per minute the cleaning is quite thorough. The small brush head size cleans very well and easily reaches all areas of the mouth and uses a pressure sensor to keep you from damaging your gums. I really like the four brushing periods on the toothbrush which tells you when to switch to a new area for brushing and automatically turns off when the timed brushing experience is over. I am looking forward to trying some of the other brush heads that are available. Nice ergonomics, styling and build quality make for a very nice user experience.

This is my third Philips Sonicare toothbrush over the years, and so far it is my favorite. It has just the right amount of options (I don’t need my toothbrush to connect to a smartphone app), but enjoy being able to choose between different modes depending on how my mouth and teeth look and feel. The whitening mode is my go to, as it really does keep surface stains from building up. I use the standard cleaning mode on the highest intensity every other day to get a deep clean in. Haven’t really found much use or enjoyed the gum massaging mode, but it’s an option for those of you who might be in need of that. This is the first Sonicare toothbrush I’ve had that keeps track of how long you’ve been using the brush head, which is great for those of us who have too many other things going on in life to keep track of when to replace our toothbrush. Very useful. All in all, this is the “sweet spot” across all of the models they offer, I feel.

This thing does a pretty good job of getting my teeth clean. This was my first ever electric toothbrush so I wasn't sure what to expect. I don't seem to get as much... foam in my mouth from the toothpaste as I did with a manual brush, which seems counter-intuitive. But this thing definitely gets my teeth clean. At the same time it's cleaning my teeth, its messying my mirror and vanity. Take it out of your mouth for even a moment and it flings what foam there is over all and sundry. On the upside, it'll motivate me to clean the bathroom more often... Anyway, it's easy to use and it does a good job. I'm not looking forward to replacing the expensive brush head, but after about three weeks I'm not quite half-way through the first brush, judging by the blue indicator baked into the bristles.

I'm using this toothbrush as a replacement for an Oral B electric toothbrush, and while I prefer that one overall because of the smaller brush heads, this Sonicare toothbrush is a great option. The first thing I noticed about it is how high quality it immediately felt. This thing is built to last. It also has awesome battery life (I have yet to recharge after a week or so of use). Most importantly, though, this toothbrush does a great job cleaning my teeth. My mouth feels noticeably cleaner than after using my previous toothbrush. This is my first "sonic" style toothbrush and I can now see why they're popular. The two issues I had with this is that my package showed up unglued (top and bottom), and I also didn't receive any type of carry case with it, which really should be included. Otherwise, this is a great option for anyone looking to get a new toothbrush.
