Customers are saying

Customers consistently note the Viva Collection 2.75 qt. TurboStar™ Analog Air Fryer's ease of use and cleaning, as well as its ability to produce juicy, flavorful food with little to no oil. However, some users mention the small basket size and limited capacity as drawbacks, finding it insufficient for larger families or meals. The air fryer's noise level during operation is also a point of concern for some customers. While many praise its performance, a few mention that the instructions could be clearer and that more precise temperature control would be beneficial.

The Philips Viva Collection Hot Air Fryer is a pretty cool kitchen tool. Essentially, it’s a small version of super-convection oven. It “fries” foods with hot air instead of hot oil. It also has the ability to simply bake items. And it does a surprisingly good job at both tasks. This particular unit is big enough to make food for a small family, but if you have more than a few people, you’d really be pushing it. We’ve made things like french fries and chicken nuggets at the same time in the Philips Viva, and they both came out great. Other than the smallish size, the only other real downside is that it’s a little noisy. But it’s not really that much worse than most microwaves, for instance; so don’t let that scare you off. It is much faster than a regular oven. Cleanup is also super simple, since pretty much every part that gets dirty is dishwasher safe and easily fits in a dishwasher. The Philips Viva Collection Hot Air Fryer has been a terrific addition to our kitchen. My wife and I both really appreciate its versatility and ease of use. The fact it does a great job cooking different types of foods quickly is also a huge bonus. Overall, this is a winner.

After my cholesterol levels went up a few years ago, my family and I have consciously avoided fried foods in general. Baked food may taste good too but the craving for the fried type never really goes away. The Philips Viva Collection Hot Air Fryer fryer gave us hope that we could enjoy that type of cooking again without the extra fat. No denying that I was a bit skeptical but the result was much better than one could hope for. Even before moving away from fried food entirely, I did not really enjoy the taste of too much fat in it. But what we have tried thus far - french fries, shrimp and even chicken - tasted better than regular fried food. It was juicy and somehow felt fresher. It is unlikely that anybody would still crave for conventionally fried because it is hard to tell the difference in your mouth or even visually, except that it is actually better in many ways. A function to keep the food warm makes it even more desirable although I wish it had a digital display. Cleaning is very easy due to its nonstick coating and being dishwasher safe. The only regret is that it is small for a family of 2 or more. PROS: . Food is juicy and full of flavor . Produces little smoke. . Very small amount of oil . Very easy to clean . Keep warm function CONS: . Small for almost any family size (2 persons at the most) BOTTOM LINE: Fried and healthy can be part of the same sentence with this product. Highly recommended.

I'm new to Air Fryer, it takes a little experimentation to get the perfect cook. This air fryer is one of the best, for even heating. Excellent for frozen fries. Small potatos are great.

This product saves me time and money. I no longer have to wait for 15 minutes while the oven heats up. Roasts al large quarter chicken in 45 minutes and oven fries in 15.

The product seems to have been well designed and may deserve a place on the kitchen counter. However, I find it of limited use due to its small tray capacity. Very good for making French fries, but we don't eat them frequently, anyway. May eliminate frying, but with limited capacity, the it may not be worth the efforts in multiple batches for a family and cleaning afterward.

After doing lots of research I just knew this air fryer was the one! I am kind of disappointed with the air fryer. This air fryer replaced a Faber ware air fryer that I managed to destroy. the faberware cost a fraction of what this one cost. Sure it circulates air fine...but I find with this one I have a longer cooking time etc....I am also sick that I paid a lot of money for this thing only to find it for almost $50 less at a competitor. Not sure why this fryer was hyped up when a less expensive model worked even better...

    Great performance, bad instructions

I should note that I've never fried anything before. So when I got this air fryer, I was starting at ground zero. Having said that, I can say that the performance of this fryer is great, but the process to get there wasn't. That's not to say that it's difficult to use, but the instructions manual could have been left out of the box for all I knew. They were that bad. The pictures weren't clear (extremely confusing) and the word descriptions were even more confusing. That's part because this one manual was for two different models of the air fryer each with distinct features and parts. I thought for the longest time I didn't have some of the things I needed. After some trial and error, I finally had success. Fries (they were surprisingly delicious). I followed the manual (which gives you the times you should cook some things) and cut up a potato, soaked them in water, sprinkled a smidge of oil on them and put them in the fryer and turned the knob. Bam, that's it. Looking back it seems silly to complain about a simple to use machine, but since I've never used a fryer before (of any kind) I was a little flabbergasted at the beginning. The only thing you have to do is plug it in, put your food in the basket, and turn a knob (like an old school winding timer) and that's it. IT comes easily apart for cleaning and it's simple enough to put together that there's only one way to do so. It comes with a recipe book, but don't expect much. My Ninja food processor came with a really nice and easy to use recipe book that I think all food appliances should have (at least for those like me who cook the same things over and over and want to venture out more). But that's really not on the product, so I can't dock a star for that. All in all, if you want an air fryer, this thing is great. If you know how to use one, then by all means get it. IF you're just interested in using one and don't have any experience like me, this is a great buy, just plan on doing a little research before and afterwards on what you can do with it.
