Customers consistently note the Viva Collection 2.75 qt. TurboStar™ Analog Air Fryer's ease of use and cleaning, as well as its ability to produce juicy, flavorful food with little to no oil. However, some users mention the small basket size and limited capacity as drawbacks, finding it insufficient for larger families or meals. The air fryer's noise level during operation is also a point of concern for some customers. While many praise its performance, a few mention that the instructions could be clearer and that more precise temperature control would be beneficial.

The Philips Viva Hot Air Fryer is a kitchen appliance that does more than just grill or bake - it fries, bakes, grills and roasts food and it does all four styles of cooking well. I tried frozen crinkle cut French fries first. I cooked them at the long side of recommended times and was rewarded with perfect fries that were tender in the middle and crisp on the outside for a satisfyingly good crunch. All the foods followed this to perfection.
It uses up the counter space of about two standard size facial tissue boxes placed side by side. It should fit most counters easily. Clean-up has been simple, easy and fast. Wipe and place in dishwasher – comes out perfectly clean. It will cook enough food for serving up to 4 people per dish in most cases. Power consumption should be less than using a stove top or oven. It is attractively designed and well engineered and built. It uses little or no oil (read healthy but tasty). Foods were evenly cooked throughout. This Airfryer is as good as the advertising says it is - a great multi-use, compact and easy to use appliance!
–NICE! - VERY NICE!!

This air fryer was kind of a tough one for me to rate and review. It does what it promises which is why I gave it the 4 stars. Despite that, I was disappointed. Yes, it cooks items well. You get the crispiness of fried food without all of the oil it normally takes for something to be fried. But for me, that's kind of where things stopped. The basket really doesn't hold much. It's small and hard to cook for more than one or two people. And if you want to "fry" more than one item, making dinner may take a while. Ironically though, the actual fryer seems very large and bulky. It takes up a good amount of my counter space (granted, I don't have a ton of counter space to begin with). And it also weighs 16 pounds (according to the shipping box). It's too big to keep out on the counter, but it's really pretty heavy to drag out on a regular basis for cooking dinner. And if an appliance is going to cost $200, I want to be using it pretty regularly.
Bottom line for me, it cooks the food well, so if that's all you care about, this is a great item. However, it's big and heavy, yet doesn't cook very much food at one time. My recommendation is based strictly on the cooking.

Do you like the taste of fried food, but don't want to actually dip it in hot oil? Ever wonder what it would sound like to have a helicopter hovering in your kitchen? This may be the appliance for you. It serves its primary function very well: cooking "fried" food without the actual frying. The food it makes is tasty and cooked to perfection. The downside is the large amount of noise involved in accomplishing that cooking. It also produces a very hot basket that's not the easiest to manipulate. And you're going to have to refill that basket several times if you want to serve more than a couple of portions. Overall, good at what it does, but you have to put up with a few inconveniences. Probably worth it just to avoid dealing with all the oil that's left over from regular frying.

Great tasting food without the mess and grease

The Phillips Viva Hot Air Fyer ensures that your food tastes great without a lot of high fat content grease or a great deal of work.
I am the kind of guy who hates to cook and eats out 7 days a week to avoid the mess and fuss of cooking and cleaning. I do realize that eating out everyday is costly and unhealthy, but it’s the risk I’m willing to take to avoid the alternative of making a mess as I cook (I’m a horrible cook). I was reluctant, or although eager to try my new Hot Air fyer to see if the claims were true. It is simply easy in every way as it makes the food taste great in many more ways.
I love french fries a lot but try to avoid them because of all the grease. I wanted to see if this Hot Air Fyer would ensure my fries tasted great without all the grease (as they claim). And the answer is YES. My fries came out perfect in less that 12 minutes. As I mentioned, I can’t cook, so I need step by step instructions with the most minute details. The fyer came with that kind of cooking instruction, which included a mini-cooking book and a downloadable app. I followed the very easy instructions in terms of preparing and cooking, as well as cleaning.
Boy was this easy! I wanted it to be simple so I went to the store and purchased some already cut and frozen fries. I even mixed it up a little as I used a tablespoon of olive oil to help the seasoning stick to the fries. I used menudo mix and some garlic salt so it cooked right into the fries. There was no oil and the fries were completely cooked in the inside and crispy on the outside. Once the fries were done, I added a little ketchup and hot sauce and the taste was the bomb with a little spicy kick (check out the flick). I am a big fan of the Phillips Viva Hot Air Fyer. Best purchase I’ve made all year. I can’t wait to cook up another batch of fries and try something different with them. It almost seems as if you can’t make a mistake when cooking with this thing. One thing is for sure, you can’t go wrong with this purchase. Guess what I’m having again tonight,,,great tasting food without the mess and grease.

So far I have been very pleased with this air fryer. I was anticipating it's arrival and had frozen french fries waiting for the first test. The Cooking basket was more than big enough for the two servings I cooked. No oil needed and cooked in 11 minutes. Fries came out delicious. The unit was also easy to clean. There is also an app you can download with some cooking recipes. I'm looking forward to trying some other recipes with this air fryer.
