Great for Certain Foods

This multi-chopper tool will certainly chop, dice or even mince a variety of food items and so far seems to do so rather quickly.
It comes with 2 different blade assemblies, 1 for the Chop-Drop technology that you use with the chop-drop multi-chopper basket. The basket has uniform holes in it which allows your food pieces to fall through down into the bowl when they reach a certain size so that they will no longer be chopped up any further, which results in a fairly even consistency of pieces when done. This is great for certain foods where basic uniformity is very important!
Phillips is correct in their statement that this is the best onion chopper because I can say that it is the best I've had so far (for onions)
The 2nd blade you use without the basket. The blades sit near the bottom of the bowl and basically act as your typical food chopper.
BUT this machine does have some power to it.
I'm not sure if I would be willing to try potatoes in it however because I don't want to jam it up or possibly damage the unit. I think I'll leave potatoes for my heavy duty processor.
ALSO: Do Not Throw Away Your Cutting Board as others may say!!
Per the instructions, You'll still have to cut your veggie and fruit pieces down to about a 3/4" cube size prior to adding for processing.
-Overall I'd say this unit is a time saver for many items and maybe not so much for some others...Depending on your skills of course

Love, love. I can chop onions in seconds without all the tearing up. Couldn’t wait to use and see how easy and efficient this would be. I love to cook with onions but hated the chopping process now this chopper allows me to skip all the fuss. I also chopped a small piece of lettuce for tacos and that was also a breeze, chopped nicely and perfect size. This will making food prep a whole lot faster.

A Decent Chopper

This is a fairly niche appliance, but it's very good at what it does. It's relatively small, but is a good size when you don't need a full sized food processor. Cleanup is very easy, just rinse and drop the parts into the dishwasher.
In the box:
Motor housing
Bowl
"ChopDrop" chamber
Coarse chopping blade
Fine chopping blade
At first I wondered, is this device really necessary, will I really use it that much. Still not sure of the answer to those questions, but I've used it a few times now, and it works great.
We've made fantastic home-made salsa with it, it dices the onions, jalapenos, tomatoes, etc, very nicely. It doesn't do that well with the cilantro. But the best part is, you can't turn your salsa (or whatever you're chopping) into mush. There's no way to over chop when using the "ChopDrop" chamber.
The fine chopping blade works just like a traditional food processor, just with a smaller foot print, so it's great when you don't want or need the full size.
Overall, if you find yourself doing a lot of dicing, then this will work great for you. If you don't, then maybe not, unless you really like good home-made salsa. Or if you just want a smaller food processor that has the additional ability to dice those dreaded tear jerking onions without making onion pulp.

This chopper works like a charm! I has no problem dicing up veggies. I tested it out with an onion the first time I used it and it made light work! The purple template slices food until it is small enough to fit through the holes so you get just the right size!

That's what this gizmo apparently was mainly designed to do, since that's what they brag about on the box. And yes, it does do that probably better than any other electric food chopper because it produces real honest to goodness diced onions, not some sort of onion paste, which is typically what you get from other food processors.
Now, this does not come without some effort, arguably a lot more than it would take to simply pull out a knife and cutting board and do it by hand. But some people seem to really hate this chore, judging from the number of devices that claim to make it faster and easier.
Hence we have the Philips Multichopper, an odd little device that is really kind of an upside down food processor. The motor on top, the blades underneath. This is what allows you to get real diced onions instead of onion paste, since the onion bits fall away from the blades into the bottom of the multichopper as soon as they are cut to the proper size.
Be aware you still have to peel and cut up the onions into pretty small pieces to get them in multichopper basket. So the labor savings are minimal. But the whole "chopdrop" system, as they call it, works for the most part, producing small uniform diced onions, or any other vegetable bits you may desire. The multichopper also cuts up hard cheeses, nuts and even meat, using a second included blade designed for that purpose.
As a long time cook, I have admit I don't quite see the point since it is less work to do all this with a knife and cutting board. There are fewer dishes to wash too since there are many pieces to be washed when you use this thing. . But for those just can't abide those chopping chores for some reason, this will do the trick.

This unit is very compact but still does the job of a chopper much larger. Very easy to setup and use and handles vegitables, nuts and other items with ease. Cleanup is a snap as well.

I liked this chopper. It works great and the end product is always pretty. The pitfalls are that it's big due to the motor size and I didn't like the fact you have to cut the food in order to chop the food. I think that if the basket was bigger it would also be beneficial. It does make a really pretty coleslaw but again you have to chop the food into small pieces in order to use the chopper. If you do not have a food processor then this would be a great option. If you do have one it would just be faster to use it as it holds more.

This chopper did not work as expected

Took twice as long than doing it by a knife. I have used chopping devices in the past without having to go to this much trouble to see the onions turn to mush in the pot. I was expecting better results and have been cooking the dish I cooked that night for several years. Sometimes I use a knife and sometimes I have used a small chopping device. I have always got the desired result in the past without fail. This might be best for nuts or harder type of vegetables, carrots, etc. But onions are my primary use for chopping as well as jalapeños for my secret recipe salsa for our summer pool parties.

This is the only chopper that I have used that dices onions without turning them to mush. It comes with a blade to act as a mini food processor and this blade and basket attachment for dicing. My only complaint is the two blades cannot be stored together or fit in the case together. That is a minor problem but I really like this ability to easily dice items.
