The DVT4110 is a fantastic recorder for the price! I'm a professional audio engineer, so I have a lot of great sound recording gear. I have a Zoom H6 that I use lots in the field, away from my studio. A few months ago, I was asked to record an interview with someone at the last moment. I was happy to do so, but there wasn't time for me to run get my H6. Instead, I stopped at my local BestBuy store and picked this up. Since I was riding with the person that was going to conduct the interview, I had a few minutes to look online and see what they had in stock before stopping. The reviews made the DVT4110 sound like a good candidate for recording the interview well. They were right. The sound quality of the recording was exceptional, plenty good to use on the air if recorded in a decent environment. As I was riding to the interview to be recorded, I ran through the setup on the device. It was easy and straightforward. By the time we arrived to record the interview (about 20 minutes after I bought the recorder), I was comfortable with the unit and ready to work with it. I read one review that said the DVT4110 is overly complicated. This might be true if you are a complete sound novice. There are a number of options on it that are not offered on other voice recorders, but those units don't have nearly the sound quality, either. I know, I have used many of them. If you know nothing about sound recording, you can learn enough online in 30 minutes to use the DVT4110. The settings are that easy to understand. If you are a professional journalist, you can use recordings made with it on the air. If you are a podcaster, this will allow you to make high-quality recordings on the go. If you're a student or a secretary, this will make great recordings for reviewing and taking notes or minutes. I have a Sony unit that cost ~$100 that doesn't sound anything close to as good as this. If you're in the market for a good digital recorder, just pull the trigger and get this one!

Could not get it to record, no real directions came with it. I had to go online myself to get the directions and even with the directions very confusing, still couldn’t get it to record, I will be returning it to Best Buy for refund.

I wouldn't recommend this recorder to anyone when you record and then play it back you can't hear it even with the volume turned all the way up save your money.

Spent 30 minutes with knowledgeable Geek Squad member but even they were having difficulty trying to even do the basics.Just too difficult.

I needed this for class. I charge it according to the directions but it would only last 15 minutes. This was a waste of $100.

This item was not user friendly. I found it difficult to use and the recordings were not very clear. We returned this item for a refund.

Could hear recording play back and quality was bad.

Did not come with any instructions. What happened to the user manual?

Poor quaility sound is not clear not easy to navigate

I bought this from Best Buy. The sound isn't as great as I'd hope on playback from the device itself. If you plug it into the computer and play from a media player or audacity it's louder. I haven't tried a headset yet. I switched the format saved to mp3, and set it to mono instead of stereo, so that the mic I bought to go with it would record. Main purpose of use and purchase, is to record my upstairs neighbors stomping and screaming etc. It didn't record them screaming, but you can hear something that sounds like thumping the mic really hard (the stomping). I'll update this as I test it out.

Easy to use! Exactly what I needed and expected to capture community meetings - resulting in more accurate meeting minutes.

It has been very good and is very easy to use I bought it to help organize my thoughts and keep notes that are important.

Very bad recording. Menu is not user friendly. I would never revommend this product.

No instructions so I still can't figure out how to use it! Wish I had just purchased the simple hit the record Botton and stop when done. This one is worthless to me! Sorry I spent the money

One more hour trying to figure out how to work it and it goes back. Maybe I should turn in my Master of Science in Engineering too.
