I owned the original on Wii U version, loved it then love it now. This version does add a few features not in the original game, I haven’t used all of them yet. But my favorite being is having 2 players simultaneously play the story mode. I felt that was missing in the original. Having it now was worth the wait of revisiting pikmin.

For anyone who may have missed out on this gem when it came to Wii U, now is your second chance to experience this hidden gem. While not as popular as Mario or Zelda, Pikmin is a fun game and a unique experience. The game has been completely reworked to be playable with Joy Cons, as opposed to the Wii U touch screen.

Pikmin 3 Deluxe is a much needed bridge towards the elusive Pikmin 4. While the original game was great on the Wii U, Pikmin 3 Deluxe offers a few extra features while delivering the same great quality of the same game. The game runs smoothly on Switch, no issues to report. If you’ve never played a Pikmin game before, you’ll be happy to know that you won’t be confused or missing out on any info if you haven’t played the other two. This game is a very fun puzzle/strategy based game. You run through some charming puzzles while grouping your small obsequiously subservient Pikmin creatures, using their elemental types to your advantage. It’s certainly an interesting game, and worth the money if you never played the first one.

Another great Pikmin game. Was glad to see Pikmin 3 get a switch release since the original was released on the Wii U. The switch deluxe version includes additional difficulty options, split-screen two player co-op and also some extra side story missions.

Cute and quirky little puzzle-solving game. The various Pikmin colors are capable of doing tasks specific to their type. There is also a day and night cycle that add a timing element to quest completion. Overall, it's a unique game that provides a challenging and pleasurable experience for those who enjoy puzzle games.

This version of Pikmin 3 is fantastic. There is new content if you owned the prior WiiU version, but unless you are a big fan and need to own it all or wish to play it again on the Switch it's not enough that I'd let it sway you. Otherwise it's a great game that looks great and is adapted to the Switch controls well.

Phoning It In...Again

Is the original a great game? Yes. I feel like Nintendo is phoning it in with these re-releases. I'm sorry so many people missed a great game on the Wii U but the Switch is not the same hardware. Very sad they didn't upgrade the resolution beyond 720p. It's very pixelated on large screen TVs.
If Nintendo had done something similar to LoZOoT: Master Quest, then I would be impressed. Instead, they slide some numbers around and call it difficult mode. Nintendo fans deserve better than what's happening with 2020 releases.
It's Pikmin 3 though so it still gets 4 out of 5.

The Pikmin series is such a great one. I'm glad Nintendo gave P3 the Deluxue treatment and put it on Switch for more people to try out. If you're in the mood for a fun game with gorgeous visuals and creative characters, definitely give this one a try!

Great but short game

This game is great no doubt about it but this game is short. If you want to just get to the final boss you can beat this game is 6-7 hours. But if you want to get all the collectibles that will take you about 12 hours. My only problem about this game is the endgame, there is none. Its just over nothing extra to do. You can go back to a previous day and try beat the game faster but thats not so fun. If you really want to get your money's worth out of this game you have to play the side stories, mission, and the harder game difficulty. Even if you were a new player to the series (like I was) its hard to run out of fruit (fruit is what keeps you alive).

They did a fantastic job converting the controls from the Wii's motion controls over to a more semi-traditional controller setup.
And I really enjoyed the new Olimar levels, with mission objectives that are all new to Pikmin 3.

I’ve only played the demo of the original on Wii U, but I already think the Switch version beats the Wii U version. I find the controls are better on here than on Wii U. Not to mention there’s extra content.

Great game. I never would have played it if it wasn’t for my best friend on the Wii U. The multiplayer on this was epic. Great addition to the switch. Looking forward to maybe a true 4th game

A lot of fun, nice story, some interesting puzzles and bad guys and great graphics. Essentially rescuing your colleagues , collecting fruit to stay alive, and killing alien life forms.
My two young kids enjoyed it a lot and had fun unlocking each type of pikmin. Took about 3 weeks playing an hour a day to complete the entire story.
Was originally reluctant to buy as the age guide said for much older kids but my 7 year old was able to muddle through it guiding her younger brother as player 2. Some of the “boss” monsters are a bit scary for younger folk but nothing worse than say “ninjago” lego tv programs. Highly recommended.

This game was wonderful and beautiful and perfect in nearly every way. EXCEPT - that it was a $60 game that I 100% completed in about 18 hours of gameplay. I wish this game and The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening had been priced at $39.99 at launch, since you're truly NOT getting the same amount of gameplay, as lots of other Nintendo games with the same price tag.

I bought the pikmin 3 on Wii U before. I bought it again because I like to play it again on NIntendo Switch. This game has a very good story and very fun to play.
