Love having this for using wireless android auto i have an samsung s22 ultra many people are havejng problems with but i had no problems and extremely easy to update firmware on this unit

Excellent stereo system. Easy to navigate and Apple car play works perfectly. The settings provide many options to fine tune your audio along with giving my subwoofer a higher punch. Very happy with this so far!

works good but is flaky waze maps, etc. when going through carplay only works about have the time. need to work on volume control too hard to adjust volume when driving. needs better noise cancellation when using hands free cell phone (using mic when on a call)

Radio looks good and has a bunch of features, but wireless CarPlay is very buggy. If you lose cellular service while driving, then the radio will completely disconnect from CarPlay and the connection has to be remade when the vehicle comes to a stop. Radio is also slow (up to 5 seconds) to recover coming back to the home screen before you can select a new source to listen to music from or go back to CarPlay. I have continued to update the radio as they come out, but these issues have not gone away. I have always recommended Pioneer as a brand, but this radio is a miss at over $700.

For the most part, it’s great. I love it. Very convenient. Automatically connected everytime. However the load up screen is irritating and takes too long in my opinion. The biggest con is randomly every once in a while, it acts like it doesn’t recognize my phone and I have to reset the connection settings. It’s not the phone because I’ve upgraded iPhones since I’ve gotten this and even on my new phone, it still doesn’t recognize it sometimes

This is a quick and easy solution to add modern features to an older car. easy install and great sound. Added Idata interface to use head unit to control factory systems.

had it installed. no issue with the installation itself. the unit is outdated compare to other newer product.

This is an awesome stereo I bought it for the simple reason it came with GPS Apple CarPlay it fits all my niece

This is a great unit. Make sure you do the firmware updates to get the latest features and get rid of any weird behavior. Install was easy with the plugs. Has pre-Amp outputs so that’s a plus.

Nice radio. Installed with a pioneer back up camera. Installed in a 2010 chev Camaro.

As a devoted follower of Pioneer's renowned Premiere line since the 90s, I eagerly anticipated the upgrade to my 2018 Dodge Challenger's audio system with the Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX. This decision was made with careful consideration, particularly due to the necessity of integrating the iDatalink Maestro RR Module to maintain essential vehicle functions upon replacing the stock radio. The Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX's inclusion on a very short list of head units compatible with the iDatalink Maestro RR Module played a significant role in my purchasing decision. Screen Size and User Interface: Despite the intricate setup involving the iDatalink Maestro RR Module, the Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX's performance left much to be desired. The disappointingly small screen, scarcely larger than a smartphone, pales in comparison to the stock radio. Additionally, the user interface feels antiquated, failing to meet the standards set by Pioneer's esteemed Premiere line. Touch Screen and Controls: Navigating the Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX's touch screen proves to be an exercise in frustration, with an alarming rate of unregistered touches and minuscule on-display buttons. Such shortcomings are inexcusable, particularly given the investment required to integrate this unit seamlessly into a Dodge Challenger. These issues present a serious danger to the driver and others on the road, as simple tasks such as changing the channel or adjusting the volume can lead to distraction and potential accidents. Amazon Alexa Integration and Phone App: The promise of Amazon Alexa integration, coupled with the convenience of a phone app, were compelling selling points for me. However, both features fell short of expectations, with Alexa failing to function altogether and the accompanying app lacking essential configuration capabilities. Settings and Performance: Configuring the Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX, despite the assistance of the iDatalink Maestro RR Module, proved to be an arduous task. The unit's settings are rigid and inflexible, and its performance is sluggish and unresponsive. These shortcomings are especially disappointing given the extensive integration process required for Dodge Challenger owners. CarPlay Connectivity: As a crucial component of modern vehicle integration, CarPlay connectivity is essential for Dodge Challenger owners seeking to enhance their driving experience. Unfortunately, the Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX's CarPlay functionality is unreliable at best, undermining its utility as a premium audio solution. Overall Assessment: As a loyal Pioneer customer and Dodge Challenger owner, the Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX's failure to meet expectations is profoundly disappointing. The necessity of integrating the iDatalink Maestro RR Module, combined with the unit's subpar performance and functionality, leaves much to be desired. I cannot in good conscience recommend the Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX. Conclusion: In conclusion, the Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX represents a regrettable departure from the standards of excellence that once defined Pioneer's Premiere line. As a long-time advocate for Pioneer products, I am disheartened by their failure to deliver a satisfactory audio solution. Moving forward, I will be exploring alternative options that offer superior performance and functionality, despite compatibility with the iDatalink Maestro RR Module. Pioneer must address the serious safety concerns posed by the device's shortcomings in the user interface and responsiveness before it causes accidents and potential liabilities for the company.

It’s a good looking stereo but I had it for a year and all of a sudden it started to rebooting on its own and sometimes it would look like the music would be playing but no sound would come out good thing I got the warranty

The Android Auto and music related features are excellent. The install by BestBuy was perfect. The reason for only 2 stars is the truly awful quality of telephone call audio (me to the caller on the other end - I can hear them very well). If I had understood more quickly how bad the outgoing call audios is, I would have returned the unit for a different brand. I have tried moving the microphone to different locations and, as my son described, I sound like "a bad 1930 radio broadcast from a movie" to whoever I talk to. The voice quality is much worse than the $15 SoundBot bluetooth dongle I used before getting the Pioneer headunit.

Great system, love having Carplay in my Explorer! I wish the screen was a bit more flush with the edges, but it is excellent overall and the touchscreen is as responsive as a phone.

I like the Radio, it does good job so far The only issue is the gps antena get lost sometimes

I like the unit but having some issues with the radio staying on to long after car is turned off but I love the pioneer stereo operation of the unit is awesome

By far the best Pioneer head unit I’ve owned. Apple CarPlay is a must have feature. Only complaint is that the screen is still bright at night even with the dimmer dimmed at the lowest setting.

Lightyears ahead of the stock radio. All the stock speakers woke up. Every option to customize the sound. Connects to phone perfectly.

The radio is really cool and it's nice to have wireless Android Auto in my 2017 Rav4 Platinum edition. I have the JBL sound system and I got it connected, the problem is you can't listen to the radio loud without the sound cracking above 29. The tech told me that I had to upgrade my speakers, even though I had the best sound system already. I was told that aftermarket radios tend to pump out a higher sound than the normal factory radios that come with cars. However, I had the pioneer 2330nex in my old car and never needed to upgrade my speakers. So I didn't like that. after spending over $500 on this unit, and 350 for the plug n play adaptors for my SUV, it sounded like it would be more of a hassle and it wasn't worth it. Its also hard to raise or lower the volume on the touch screen, which is inconveniently located on the side because it's not really responsive. You have to keep pressing it and messing with it in order for the unit to feel your finger. Another problem I had with this radio is that I couldn't update the firmware!! I tried doing it through USB drive and through the pioneer app. None would work. It also wouldn't let me do anything with the internet, it kept saying that I have to accept the privacy policy. So I did accept the privacy policy in the app, but it still didn't work.. Overall this is a nice concept, radio but they have to fix all the glitches that come along with it. I returned this expensive unit after 2 weeks and I put in my other pioneer radio 2330nex in my RAV4 and it's works flawlessly. On a side note, (for those with a 2017 Rav4 Platinum edition) I like that my tech was able to get my bird's-eye view camera and my backup camera both connected into one screen. But the original bird's-eye view camera button does not work, nor do the individual views, which would be with any aftermarket radio. If you could find a tech that can hardwire in the overall bird's eye view with the backup camera to show on one screen, then it's pretty cool to use an aftermarket radio without giving up all the cool camera features on this particular SUV.
