Only hooks up an iPhone through Pioneers software and that has limited apps. No weather app. You can take calls through the radio. A functioning navigation map. Definitely not hands free. Best to do your settings while parked.

The packaging says so but the connection that requires the correct connection does not exist on the system other and the voice command is not functioning.

The software has fallen due to 3rd party apps disappearing from the Pioneer line. Waze is no longer available (per. Waze,) no Androidauto, or carplay. I find that I wish i had kept my older model. Being able to have options for a car stereo is why I use Pioneer products. I will keep this unit but I'm afraid it will be my last

Bluetooth connectivity with my s9 Samsung has a lag time and doesn't always connect correctly. The sound quality is awesome. And alot of other cool features.

So we asked why? when we were told it comes with free installation. He explained that the cost involves installation kit and labor. So we think you need to change the free installation sign on radios, because we are not the only ones who purchased a radio and thought we would get installed free like it said. So that is why we returned this radio because it was going to be $ 324.00 plus another $300.00 to install????

Posted .I am sorry to hear you had to return the AVH-521EX.
Most vehicles will require a dash adapter and/or a wiring harness adapter kit. Especially with newer vehicles, these adapter kits can get expensive.
