Unsure if the product is bad or if geek squad installed it incorrectly but after a month I’ve yet to get appropriate assistance and corrective action. Worst retail experience ever.

If i listen to music past volume 40 with wireless CarPlay i get an error message. Attach gps antenna?!?! It was installed by bestbuy too. So yeah

I got this receiver because I wanted wireless Android Auto, and this was one of the cheaper receivers with wireless and it had pretty good reviews. As far as that goes, works great, as good as I hoped. But the SiriusXM support is pretty basic compared to other stereos I've used. Overall, still very good for the price. Pros: - Wireless Android Auto/Carplay! This is the killer feature. If that's what you want, this has it, and it works great. I haven't tested Apple but works great with Android. Works great for Google Maps, Spotify, etc. - Capacitive touch screen. Another receiver I was looking at in the price range was a Sony, but it had a resistive touch screen which I was not too fond of. Not as responsive as your phone or high end systems, but gets the job done just fine. - Sound quality is noticeably better than my stock 2012 Subaru system on all sources. Especially FM which sounded like garbage on stock. - Supports backup cams. Switches right to it when I shift to reverse, and right back once I go into drive, easy peasy. I'm sure almost every receiver with a touch screen does, but nice bonus for me since my old one didn't have it. - Price is super competitive if you're looking for a wireless AA/Carplay receiver, it's one of the cheapest on the market. Can't fault the value here. Cons: - Biggest con, and the reason I docked a star, is because the SiriusXM support is pretty basic. Most other modern systems I've used support some advanced features, notably TuneStart. TuneStart means if you change channels, it stores a buffer of each channel so you can start listening at the beginning of the song, rather than partway through. I've had this feature on my last standalone SXM device, as well as a cheap ~$100 aftermarket unit in another car. I was surprised this does not have it. It just lets you change channels and set presets, like you'd expect on FM, but nothing beyond that. It works, but I wish it had TuneStart. I can use the SXM app through Android Auto if I have cell service though, so that is a workaround. - I wish it had physical buttons at least for volume control. The capacitive ones work, but buttons or a dial would be better. I do have steering wheel controls so it's not a big problem. - The backup cam is not as robust as stock backup cams in newer cars. Eg. the lines on the screen are not as accurate, and it doesn't know when you're steering. I assume this is a limitation with most/all backup cams and receivers that aren't tightly integrated into the car. Not necessarily a problem with the product, just something to think about.

This is a great entry into owning a CarPlay head unit/vehicle. I've installed it in my 1996 Toyota Tacoma. I am generally very happy with it and was able to use the existing wiring harness for my previous Pioneer head unit without any issue. The pinouts for the major components are the same (power, ground, speakers, etc.) This model's wiring harness does have a few extra wires compared to the other head unit but they aren't wires I am able to use on my truck anyways (speed sensing, steering wheel control, Reverse, Parking brake, etc.). For Wireless CarPlay to work, all you have to install is the included GPS antenna. Speaking of CarPlay, it is a bit tricky setting up for the first time, as you would think you could go into settings on the unit and pair your phone over bluetooth. For some reason, the bluetooth settings menu on mine is greyed out. I was able to open bluetooth on my iPhone regardless and see the head unit ready for pairing. After pairing and enabling a few permissions on my iPhone, car play came right up. It works fast, smooth, and automatically lists all of the CarPlay compatible apps on your iPhone. A couple reasons why I took off one star: There is no volume dial and the buttons to adjust volume aren't very bright, nor are they physical buttons. If you need to turn down the volume on your radio quickly while driving ...good luck! You might not press the volume button at all or you might press too high and accidentally turn the volume up. If you have steering wheel controls, this won't be an issue. My other issue is that the screen doesn't have the best brightness in the daylight. Just a few more nits of brightness and it would be perfect. I do like the fact that you can turn the display completely off so it isn't a distraction while driving at night. Audio still plays with the screen off unless you stop it first or hold down the power button and turn the unit completely off. In summary, if you have an older vehicle like me that has a double-din slot and want to bring it to the modern age with CarPlay, this is a great head unit to accomplish that.

Was very happy to upgrade to a CarPlay system. Syncs well with my phone Bluetooth and was installed well by Best Buy. It took a few days for it to connect well over Bluetooth and my biggest complaint is the volume has to be increased or decreased by pressing a button to change it one level so it takes a bunch of clicking to turn it up or down. It is also a pretty bright screen sometimes at night but if I don’t need directions I can turn the screen off. Just a heads up there is a hidden cost of installation gear. Says the price of the unit and markets free installation but they don’t mention until you make an appointment that you need to purchase hardware to connect the system to your head unit. Kind of lousy but predictable.

This ended up being a really great purchase, I was able to install this in a Toyota Camry 2001. And add significant value to my driving experience.

Good fit for my 2005 Acura MDX Touring car. Able to connect Bluetooth, there is no disconnection issues till now. Once at bump and pot holes, carplay got restarted, I am not sure this is the issue of carplay or connection issues due to cable issues. GeekSquad at BestBuy team had done fantastic job, suggested best navigation with its feature and installed on time. I had to wait few days to get all parts together and install it on my car. Camera also having perfect fit i.e. Metra license plat backup camera. Finally, it energized my old car, now my kids want to travel always in this car because of this carplay installation. Apps are working fine, able to change volume from steering wheel. I got this for $379 since labor day offer was going on. Will update this comment after few months.

The best head unit I’ve ever had. I’m a big music junkie. I’ve had all the brands imaginable but pioneer is my go to. I choose this unit for the option to play dvd’s for the kids in my Tahoe in the rear while being able to use the head unit for music and CarPlay.

The young man in the installation department was friendly, extremely knowledgeable and very helpful in finding exactly what we were looking for. After receiving the Apple CarPlay receiver, the installation was done in just under two hours and looks amazing (as if it came with the car from the factory). The receiver also works great, and my daughter absolutely loves it. Overall, this was an amazing buying experience, and I highly recommend both the product and the Best Buy location where it was purchased and installed. Thank you!!

It works flawless love the wireless car play features are pretty basic though! Biggest complaint is no volume knob! Wish it had 4v pre instead of two!

We purchased it for our new RV so we could have hands free talking from our iPhone and Samsung cell phones. It works great! I am not crazy about the touch screen volume control on the unit it is hard to adjust when driving -small touch points on the left side of the screen. It does have a remote that helps out a lot. I would have liked regular volume adjustment buttons on the unit rather than touch screen.
