I bought this to replace my factory stereo on my new Toyota Tacoma. Awesome product. However, there is one glitch. When ending a phone call, it cuts out any music input and must restart the unit.

The radio is great! You need to ask more questions before installation. I have an Android phone and my son has an iPhone. There was only one USB cable installed for my Android phone and it turned out that it took a second USB cable to work the iPhone. I asked the installer why only one. He told me it only came with one and if he had told me It took a different cable for an iPhone I would have bought one. consequently I had to remove the radio myself and install a second one.

Got this item on sale for half price through an open box discount and it was a steal. I love the CarPlay and various other features it has to offer. Definitely would buy this again. Thanks Best Buy.

I have this deck in my Scion Xb and my wife’s Ford Edge. She had Wireless Android Auto and I have Wireless CarPlay.

I installed on 2005 Ford Expedition and I was very pleased to realize that this unit had very nice features. I really recomend it

So far, I’m really liking this head unit. Wireless car play is probably the main reason I bought this! It works well in my Ram!

Huge upgrade from factory cassette and disk changer in 2006 GX470. Finally easy hands free texting, talking, waze, pandora - it’s great. Add in the HD radio and back up camera and this car is good for another 200K miles. The only thing missing, IMO, is a ‘rewind’ while listening to radio - would be great to have like a 10sec back up or pause for radio.

I have a 2011 Mazdaspeed 3. I love the car and the OEM stereo equipment worked fine. But I had some (a lot) of Best Buy rewards points and had bought the Total Tech Support package with a new TV, so I splurged on this (TTS made the install cheaper). The unit is responsive (animations, menu changes, etc. are smoother than even a model below this one), which is a big deal for my visually obsessive self. No delays when I press or tap a button is important to me - and this model has satisfied in that regard. It fits nicely in the dash adapter and doesn't look out of place in the car. Along those lines, the customizable background, display theme, and button lighting colors are nice to have. Sound quality is at least as good as with the factory unit (driving 6 speakers, plus sub). I mostly use Pandora and my iPhone's music library, which are as easy to access on this stereo as they are on the phone itself. I use Apple CarPlay (wirelessly) and that generally works well. I say “generally” because, at least with this model, wifi interference happens in certain areas (perhaps it only supports the crowded 2.4 GHz band). For instance, in residential areas where there are likely a lot of wireless routers, the connection will drop in and out. This can be mitigated by connecting to the head unit over a Lightning cable, though. Unfortunately, I haven’t had the opportunity to try Android Auto yet. But in an interference-free area, the apps & audio work as you’d expect them to on the phone. It switches seamlessly between (for instance) Waze & Pandora. And, after launching Waze, it will continue to alert you in the background if you switch to Pandora, Music, etc. Bluetooth connections work well and I am able to keep both my personal & work iPhones connected over BT without issue. I haven’t had more than a couple phone calls since this was installed, but no one complained about not being able to hear me (and I could hear them fine). I also have a backup camera connected to the stereo and it immediately switches to its view when I shift into reverse (this model does NOT have parking assist lines overlaid on the camera video, though). I haven’t yet tried playing a DVD but it should play fine with the included remote (you’ll just have to have the parking brake on, if the stereo has been installed as specified). The touchscreen detaches easily for security and feels reasonably protected in its neoprene case. Touchscreen visibility hasn’t been an issue except in direct sunlight (which will be an issue for virtually any display). The display can be configured to automatically dim during specified times or when vehicle lights come on, as well. I’m happy I bought this stereo. My only complaint is how easily Apple CarPlay appears to be interfered with, but again, that’s worked around by plugging in your phone to the unit. Highly configurable, plenty of connection options, stable (I had to reset my older Kenwood touchscreen stereo all the time), and functional! And it looks good!

Works great. Easy to use. Connects to my Android phone quickly, and Android Auto works perfectly. Sound quality is definite improvement over OEM stereo. Also, I installed a Sony media center in my previous Jeep. It worked well, but dropped Android Auto connection frequently. Has not happened at all with the Pioneer.

I recently decided to upgrade the OEM radio in my 2008 Honda. After reading the reviews, I decided on the Pioneer W4400NEX because I wanted the wireless Carplay. It works seamlessly -- my phone can either be plugged in, or in my pocket or knapsack and it is almost immediately recognized by the unit. The controls are fairly intuitive. Along with a backup camera that I also installed, it feels like I'm trying a new car.

So far, this head unit has been excellent. I have never used android auto in the past. The only downside that isn't mentioned is that the android auto wireless is new and not yet compatible with my phone. I would like to see better search options for Amazon music. It brings up limited playlists and may not find songs, but if you play them from your phone it works for all songs. Other than the few very minor things, this is another great unit by pioneer, which is really the only ones I use.

I had this installed at our Portland Maine (Maine Mall) location. They did a great job. Looks like it was factory installed. Love the wireless CarPlay feature. Automatically pics up where I left off without having to plug in. Which is great for the short drives I do. Also love using CarPlay to acces maps, google maps, Waze, Spotify and Audible. We also had a backup cam installed at the same time. Although it takes a few seconds to come up, it works great and looks better than the factory cam on our other car. Definitely brings new life to the car. Was considering trading it in for a model that had CarPlay and backup cam. This was a great choice.

This radio is a good choice to upgrade your car dash! You will get almost all the latest features that u get from OEM and the good thing is free installation by Bestbuy geek squad. The radio has few software glitches, otherthan that it's a nice choice.

This model fit every desire I wanted for the cheap cost I got it during its sale of purchase for Satellite Radio to keep up with my favorite stations without losing signal (Paid Membership), being able to use Apple/Android control right on unit, and being able to have movies playing for the kids in the back seats during long trips. PROs : Both you and friends will be able to use there song choices easy between CarPlay or Blutooth & Equalize better sound quality than factory units CONs : GPS requires your DATA from Phone use while plugged into usb unit

Great stereo, wireless Android auto and Apple car play is nice to have. Unit sounds great, and is easy to use.

This is a great product I use to have the stock radio on my challenger and I got this pioneer as a gift it came with the installation included and after having it installed it’s just have great I have apple car play and I can use my Waze maps and the indash, it gave my car another look. I can also do mirror with a hdmi and back up camara as well.

Someone broke my CD player in my Audi A3 which prompted me on a search for repair/replace costs. Repair was so expensive I decided to replace. I was steered to this product by 2 different stores and I’m glad I did. I was able to upgrade to apple play, add a backup camera and get more radio stations. Now I have in dash gps through apple play. The sound and featured are much more robust than my OEM Bose system (8 years old) and I love it! Love my car and other than lane assist I’m up to date with latest tech. I might even add another camera. I had Best Buy install and the total cost was almost ½ the price of the high end car audio in town and it’s the upgraded radio (Bluetooth apple play) they were going to put in. I’m a happy camper!! One note: the unit allows for 2 USB dongles to be attached in install. The unit comes with 1. I would suggest getting a 2nd and having it installed at the time.

I have tried a few different double din head units.. This Unit is the best one I have tried. Its very responsive to touch screen commands, the boot up time is quick. The sound quality output even to my stock speakers is massively improved. I love the functionality of the menu's (it took a while to figure it all out) This unit plays, DVD's, and just about every file format you can throw at it. It has Carplay and Android Auto.. The 7 inch display is crisp.. You cant go wrong with this unit.. I'm 3 months in and its still working great.. The cost is high, but you get what you pay for..

I got this for my 07 Tacoma and kept the stock speakers. I saw an online debate about whether it was more important to get new speakers or head unit. For me it was hands down the head unit. I am thrilled with the wireless Car Play and the intelligent functionality of this stereo. The navigation is superb and having Siri a button away is excellent. I enthusiastically recommend this Pioneer AVH4400-NEX!!!
