I purchased 2 of these because we are redoing our new home and I have become a speaker junkie,
I bought all Klipsch and Definitive Technology and I was looking for something a little let than I spent on the larger 904 model.
This was perfect. One room is 10x12 and the other is actually 18x20 and the sound is amazing. I am pairing this with the RocketFish Wireless Rear kit, 4 Klipsch standing, 1 Klipsch center, 2 Klipsch subs and 2 Klipsch book shelf
The quality and bass coming from my system is perfect. The bass will knock you off your feet, but the clarity of the sound coming off the center OR off them off in Ext Stereo really makes movies pop.
We are big Marvel fans and I love action movies, and all of them sound like I am at the movies each time.
Buy this receiver you will not be dissapointed.
1. I love im able to use banana clips
2. I love the ATMOS. It does do something if you place the speakers properly
3. I love when its in EXT stereo because the sound is everywhere at once and my wife can hear it will cooking or laying in bed with our 3 puppies
4. It is fully controllable by Google Home (love it) and can do Chromecast and Bluetooth.
5. It is also easily controlled by the 4k Insignia TVs (new models) that I bought for those rooms.
It looks really nice too, because its screen color matches the Klipsch(as I have the covers off).
Totally worth it all.

I know this is long review but this is my experience in the last 24 hours since I got the amp and satisfied with some features but not all of them. I will give this product 4 star rating for the loudness and how audio pass though is so crisp and clear.
Long story short this amp is really great for the price no jokes on this and super loud, problem is the initial setup. Even if you fallow whatever the instructions says on the TV you still need to go in the back menu to re-setup options and features that you initially setup (manual that came along is joke you need experience in order to do the setup is not just plug and play requires some knowledge of audio equipment). For example the ARC if you use HDMI and Optical knows to be extremely painful process took me almost 30 minutes to figure that part out because features are hidden and need to enable and disable options to not have audio interruptions while using the TV remote. Next problem I came into was the automatic audio setup even though I have 8 ohms speakers (you should be able to get at least 100 watts per speaker and if you go with 6 ohms 225 watts) I still had to go in the backscreen and adjust the sound because everything was false (my previous $200 Sony did a better job in this department). Big problem for me is Bluetooth setup you connect to your phone and you try to play your favorite song from YouTube, NO you can’t play it because its video player. It drove me nuts for almost an hour and I can see that they locked up to be Audio Player only no exceptions for videos from YouTube unless you have premium and play music from YouTube Music then you can run videos but not the whole library like you can do on YouTube. Chromecast build in Feature is not working like it supposed to be working assuming they are going through updates and will wait till new update comes so I can see can it work. Another big NO NO for me is the way how this amp gets hot if you have no good ventilations better buy extended warranty because you will be running to the store quite often. All other premium features to stream audio and if you are not a subscriber don’t even bother to run them use your phone and play the audio and in order to do this you need to get the mobile app to control it and Bluetooth is not working like it should sometimes you need to disable and enable in order to work… Hopefully you guys won’t have any issues setting up yours like I did.

Great bang for the buck receiver

One of the very few 9 channel receivers in the market for under a grand, its definitely a great bang for the buck. I'm using it as a stereo receiver regularly in my apartment. It has absolutely no issues to power some bookshelf speakers. I love that I can also connect my phone to play spotify and also use the app as a remote.
I've tested it as a 5.1 in my apartment as well and am more than satisfied. Once I move into my home later this year, I'll be running a 5.2.4 atmos system. Looking forward to this set up.

Great upgrade from 5.1

Went through a lot of research and back-and-forth. My old 5.1 Pioneer receiver has lasted since the early 90s and is still going strong; however, too much content is now encoded beyond what my receiver can provide (Atmos, eDTS, etc.). Always wanted to upgrade to a 7.1 system so, after six months or so of research, settled on this receiver. Works great, really easy to set up--has options to do it for you (includes microphone to adjust to listening area/environment) or to manually configure. You do have to supply your own HDMI cable so I recommend spending a little extra for a higher quality cable--makes a huge difference (older Pioneer used optical and RWY). Pretty easy to connect to network for music--not the easiest to play--would be easier to plug my pc to the tv but works fine. Doesn't do videos or the like through network or USB, which kind of sucks the my Blu-ray player can handle that. Comes with a remote, antennas for the AM/FM, batteries, and a microphone as mentioned above. The only downside (for me at least) is not having an instruction manual. I can see trying to go green but I still like to have a book on hand. So, keep in mind you'll need to download the instruction manual and will need to supply your own HDMI cable. Sound is great, easily paired with my previous subwoofer and speakers of 5.1 system. Almost like being at the theater; I highly recommend!

Used for Drum amp application

The receiver works well for the application that it is being used for. Electronic drums are nice to use with headphones but the true sound of the triggers just don't cut through and definitely listening through headphones lacks the thunderous effect that a good receiver and an army of quality speakers provide. It makes the drums monstrous in sound. As a listening to music amp it also works good. I have a seven band equalizer hooked up to it to enhance the sound, though it may not be the loudest amp on the market it does well enough for regular listening needs. The major setback is that there is no owners manual so one has to go online for information on it's use. Overall it is a nice receiver. I did notice the heating up of the unit when pushing the volume, but that can be somewhat controlled with a household fan set on high directed onto the receiver. I would rather deal with a little dust than overheating wear and tear. Like the saying goes, you get what you pay for, and this unit is worth it's price tag in my opinion.

Great receiver... just wished it would have been on sale but still a ton for your money..atmos 5.2.4 or 9.2 plus other options, dolby vision, dtsx, hdmi 2.3, 3d and 4k passthrough, chromecast built in, alexa compatible, imax enhanced, video and audio format input and output on tv display...etc..
I switched from Yamaha to Pioneer elite a few years back and have been extremely happy with all my AVRs. First one was pre 4k, then 4k and 3d, and now upgrade to this for 9.2. All were easy to use and sound is awesome, short of paying for high end amps and processors. In my opinion, my dedicated 24 x 12 home theater basement room sounds awesome.

Both the sound quality and the picture coming from the Pioneer AV receiver are excellent. The system is user friendly and the markings on and controls on the receiver itself are much better and more legible than other receivers.
The Geek Squad service agent was very competent and friendly. He knew what he was doing and explained how things work. He went out of his way to leave his card and let me know that he is available if there should be any problem. Great guy.

Amazing value, Atmos experience is really immersive. I am really glad I found this receiver as an open box item in a close by BB store. It was just at the price I was looking for and is a complete solution for what I needed (5.1.4 Dolby Atmos). Sound quality is excellent and has plenty of power to drive my speakers.

I purchased the Pioneer Elite VSXLX304 for a 7.1.2 home theater system. The sound is excellent and full. It has plenty of power. One of the great features is a multi band equalizer for each individual speaker. The Dolby Atmos is impressive. I believe it is more than worth the few extra dollars to step up to this Home Theatre Receiver.

Sound quality is much better than Sony products, and overall good functionality. It did not have the functionality the Best Buy rep said it did (enable separate audio and video feeds at the same time) but I was able to find a work around and it works very well.

I am very impressed with this Receiver. It’s got plenty of power and has been very easy to use. I hate to put other products down that I’ve had in the past that I’ve liked but. We used to have a BOSE surround sound system that we liked very much but this, along with the Klipsch speakers we got with this blows the BOSE system away “Hands Down” there really is no comparison.

1st receiver. I have a super small home studio so I'm picky about sound, I needed a home theater setup for the big living room. Now that I've owned this receiver for over a month, I can say:
0 problems,
1 smooth setup process, &
2 great 2 pass up.
Uh -- anyways, bought this in-store, super helpful employees, and an overall great receiver for bigger home theaters!
Grandpa won't go back to blasting his Dish DVR recordings any other way, because it looks better and sounds clearer -- that much of a difference compared to a normal HDMI connection & 2 little-old speakers in a big-old room.
Best part? Had a super bowl party & wanted to hear the game in 3 different rooms (I have custom volume knobs built into the wall of the house to control zones). & because I have 13 average sounding speakers, I just piggyback 4 speakers into 2 of the (not exact names) "last back surround L" and "last back surround R". Point is, for a normal home, it's perfect. Could you get 13 channels sent to a bunch of average sounding speakers? Everything from cable to music still sounds perfect once you boost the gain of the piggybacked speakers in the settings!

I needed to upgrade my receiver for my newer technology mainly I needed to have HDR pass through for my Xbox one X. I originally bought another unit that said it had 4K hdr pass through but it only passed through the video and wouldn’t do gaming. I have always liked Pioneer receivers and this one is the newer version of my last one. Once I plugged everything in the on tv setup was smooth and easy. Everything worked as advertised and the sound is great. I like the option of adding to high speakers down the road when I get a bigger place for the full digital Atmos experience. I have been happy with this receiver so far. The Bluetooth works well with my IPhone and holds connectivity. I would recommend this receiver to anyone interested in upgrading there home theater system.

This has been an upgrade that I’ve been wanting to do for a while, My Denon AVR 987 was great back 15 years ago when I bought the house and put in main zone surround and zone 2 patio. Since then Televisions and the broadcasting (streaming) source has completely evolved and so must I. This Pioneer-Elite VSX-LX304 Fits the bill and then some. My 5.1 with Sunfire sub is plenty to enjoy movies and everyday Tv, so I opted to do 3 zones of whole home audio. The Patio Tv zone 2 and outdoor speakers finally can work in unison!! It’s freakin fantastic. Big plus is the APP based functioning of all of the above. Its a bit clunky but it works for now.
