I do not like to complain about things, but this receiver was a real disappointment, and it really could be my understanding of what these receivers are purposed for. I have always had a good experience with Pioneer products before this. This receiver did in fact combine all of the different audio and video sources in my home into one signal that could be routed to speakers around the house or wherever. However, there is almost no control over the sound of that signal. There is only minimal control over bass/treble, and almost no control over left-right separation. Also, I never could make sense of the interface between the receiver and the TV. I played with this unit for 2 weeks and then returned it to buy a simple stereo amplifier. Luckily, Best Buy is the best at return privileges and customer service. I had no problem switching to a new product thru their largesse.

I've been a lifelong Onkyo customer, but have to say - this receiver blows most Onkyo receivers out of the water. It's powerful, yet balanced. More than enough to support my 7.2 Klipsch speaker system (including large tower speakers).

Incredible AVR - brings my Klipsch RP speakers to life and DIRAC set up makes dialing them in a breeze. Huge upgrade from a soundbar. Currently using this with a 3.1 speaker configuration with bi-amped front speakers. Will eventually expand to a 5.2 bi-amped set up, but for now this thing rocks!

The Pioneer Elite revived my old Mirage speakers and brought new life to my theater room . It was really amazing, I was missing out on so much sound. I was hearing everything it made the movie watching experience exciting. My wife and kids were amazed as well.

I like the unit. The options it has the 120hz pass trough at 4k my only complaint is the higher the volume the less bass it lets my sub produce and i cant figure out why or how to fix it. Sub is powered separate and sould hit harder the higher the volume but it works the opposite it hits harder the lower the volume

I’ve been wanting to upgrade my system for a long time and am happy I went with this unit. Set up was easy and the I like the many options for speak configuration. My only suggestion is to have more information about what each surround sound setting is doing in terms of EQ, speaker use and crossover. Toggling through the different modes is easy and I just let my ears tell me which is best for which content.

Really superb unit with excellent sound and 4K capabilities. Very impressive unit, I’ve been a Yamaha loyalist for decades but was a bit taken aback by the yet unreleased firmware updates required for 4K/120. Pioneer is back in a big way. So far, every source has exceeded expectations (for a receiver). Just running a 5.1 system right now, but the ability to upgrade is definitely there.

It's a good receiver with lots of potential.however it saddens me that after all the money I payed for it did not come with a owner's manual which all my pioneer Elite components have manuals.im very displeased about that.

Used it for one month with Klipsch Reference 5.1.2 audio system. Works great. Sound is deep powerful and clear. I love surround sound on this reseiver. Never uset it more than 70% of volume because it’s too loud. What I like less this is menu design and graphics and icons. It’s looks little obsolete for me. But it’s not effecting sound and other features. Great product!

Very good system, a lot more complicated as it is one unit replacing my old separate amplifier, equalizer, and tuner. Listening to Pandora through this system has a problem that needs to be worked out. After about 15 minutes, it stops playing, then resumes about a minute later, and then repeats this at shorter intervals, so I listen to Pandora through a different application but through the amplification and sounds great. Still trying to figure out the equalizer. As I write this, a record is playing and the unit just turned off by itself...Huh. Anyway, overall it seems like a very good system.

Easy to setup, no issues so far better than my previous Onkyo. Using Def tech Pro 1000 and they sound great. Running a 5.1.2 setup and love the way it sounds compared to my old Onkyo. Great buy
