I had great luck with my old pioneer Receiver so I wanted to upgrade and decided on the Elite. It was very disappointing as soon as I got it out of the box to see the build quality. Cheap plastic legs, which one was broken. I exchanged it for the Onkyo Rz50 and to my surprise it was much better built and sounded way better. Pioneer is going down hill.

Replaced my VSX90 with this AVR, within 2 months the amp started generating a popping sound through one of my Atmos channels before shutting off and going into protect. Best Buy will not exchange anything after 30 days so I was forced to deal with Pioneer directly who won’t stand behind their product. I sent it to an ‘authorized service center’. The repair was there for 3 weeks and sent back. Plugged it back in and it worked for 10 minutes before it shut off again, now it won’t work at all and i have no way to fix or exchange. $1000 lesson: always buy the warranty. Onkyo owns Pioneer now so naturally the quality will be sketchy at best. I wish I had my money back

    First open-box purchase

Was an open-box sold as good condition. Was handed receiver with no packaging, no box, no accessories and no power cord. Just the receiver. Was very disappointed. Brought it home. Couldn’t try it out until I ordered a power cord online, took about a week to receive. Finally plugged it in and nothing. The receiver did not work. Took it into the geek squad. They wanted to send it in to get worked on. But I decided to just return while I was still in the 15 day free return window. Extremely disappointed since I drove 3 hours to LA to pick it up. First time buying an open-box and probably be the last time too. Is a power cord considered non essential item? I consider it very essential.

started out well, but became weak sounding after running a while. I run 4 ohm speakers. The person at BestBuy said that this would handle it fine. Not so. They seemed to run the amps hard. I returned it due to this reason,

Basically a good a/v receiver. For a need in a home theater without spending 3000.00 on a receiver. It will get you all the basics and Diect live does sweeten the deal

Purchased the receiver in August 2023. By March 2024 I have already had to send the unit off for repair. The receiver simply shut off and went to an Amp Diagnostic mode. This happened without the receiver being pushed. I only powered speakers with 6 of the 9 channels and powered speakers that use less RMS than what the receiver is rated for by 50%.

GARBAGE receiver. Had the Geek Squad set it up. Now not putting out sound out of the blue. Best Buy will not help you with warranty. Can't hire Geek Squad to come diagnose it. Got the run around from Best Buy customer service AND Pioneers Customer service. For almost $1000 this thing should have worked for more than a year...

Not as punchy as my old Onkyo, lots of manual setting up, very noisy - terrible hiss coming from center and fronts. Bought a new center, same issue. I’ll experiment some more and let you know
