I really enjoyed this movie. I have only seen the first one, and just parts of 2,3, and 4. It’s hard to capture the magic of the first one, but I think this comes close. The quality on this transfer is top notch. Image is crisp and the colors really pop. I hope they release the others on 4K also. If you’re a fan of these movies, this is an absolute must buy. Highly recommend this 4K SteelBook!

I first saw this on Disney Cruise line at sea. So much better when you feel feel the ocean and in 3D. Which of course is True 4D. Lol...

The case was pretty good and the disc wasn’t scratched at all. The only thing I didn’t like is how it comes with a tiny packing and not that much bubble wrap.

A Great Finish to the Pirate Franchise!

Packed with visual tails, a powerful sound-track and gloriously realistic sound effects that are coupled with 7.1 immersive sound-treatment – all for a crowd-pleasing view. Very judicious use of CGI, lots of imagination and very creative “big-scenes” that are all designed to satisfy and thrill the audience. This grand 14 year old franchise very effectively connects to earlier sequels and its’ incredible cast of prior sequel actors are joined by a new generation that beautifully follows suit making the film. And the story-telling is not remiss – there’s plenty of action so that there is no boredom. This film effectively continues the original “spirit” of the Pirates of the Caribbean. In the end all are united, Sparrow is once again joined with his beloved ship the Black Pearl and her “following-winds” are fair. A superb and pleasing view that will be remembered and viewed again.

For anyone new to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, here is a list of all the movies in order of release: 1. Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl 2. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest 3. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End 4. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides 5. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales I would say that the first installment is the best of the bunch, the others not nearly as much. I did enjoy the fifth installment when I saw it in the theaters, but that may be a matter of preference. So the first and the fifth were the strong points of the franchise for me, and that was enough to make me purchase the in-between films just to round out the collection and revisit the stories. Overall, the series isn't bad, but if it can be helped, wait for the 2nd-5th films to go on clearance before purchasing - which they are now, except for the 5th (which was just recently released). The first one is well worth even at full price. Best Buy is the best place to get these because they have all the films readily available.

Jack Sparrow, Captain Jack Sparrow That Is, Is Back In The 5th Installment In The Swash Buckling Franchise. This Time With Javier Bardem’s Sinister Ghost Captain Salazar To Terrify & Seek Revenge On Captain Jack. Some Elements Of This Installment Are Familiar & Feel Like A Return To Form Like The First Two Films. While Other Things About It Might Feel Been There, Done That. It’s Definitely One That Comes Full Circle & Completes The Journey & Arch For Our Favorite Characters. Depp Always Performs As Captain Jack Sparrow & Has Given 100% Since The Curse Of The Black Pearl. Some Might Say It’s Played Out & Leave Well Enough Alone, But I Would Never Say No To More Installments & New Stories. It’s Fun For The Family...Check It Out!

The "Pirates" Saga Goes Out With A Bang!

I have thoroughly enjoyed each of the entries in the Johnny Depp "Pirates of the Caribbean" saga. Captain Jack Sparrow has become as iconic in the this last twenty years as Luke Skywalker was in the twenty years preceeding him. This latest entry is outstanding and ties the entire saga together in an ending that is as uplifting as it is satisfying. If this is indeed theend of the "Pirates" saga, as many believe, it goes out with a bang!

New writers bring change and the familiar

As a fan of the series, especially the original three entries, Dead Men Tell No Tales is a bit hard to review. If you simply want to turn off your brain and be entertained by more Captain Jack Sparrow hijinks then this will satisfy that urge. But if you're looking for a solid continuation that respects its predecessors but forges its own path, then that's a problem. Disney kicked out the writers from the last four movies and brought in new writers who either couldn't care less about the established lore and continuity, or simply ignored them. While it results in something a bit fresher thanks to Javier Bardem's casting, there's also a ton of retread to familiar elements that pay homage to what came before. My suggestion is to enjoy the eye candy visuals, the over the top action, and revisiting fan favorites (however brief), and have a good time watching a summer blockbuster.

This is the shortest of the 5 Pirates of the Caribbean movies if I'm not mistaken, but it is still full of action, adventure, and comedy. This one also has a few tearjerker moments, although I won't go into any detail to avoid posting spoilers. I will say that you get to see the more human side of some of the key characters that you hadn't seen in prior movies. There are also some new characters including the son of Will Turner and Elizabeth Swan. The plot of the movie is that everyone is trying to get the trident, which controls the sea and has the potential to undo all curses. So of course each character has his/her own personal reasons for wanting the trident. I really enjoyed the movie and will likely watch it again and again.
