I purchased this on sale for $20 and it's probably one of the best bargains I've managed to find. Five films, blu-ray, and Planet of the Apes (not that Tim Burton one either). It's a recipe for success. The sleeve and packaging is nice and admirable. If you like, especially love, these movies you must buy them!

I remember the first time I seen Charlton Heston looking at the ravaged Statue of Liberty, and I was in shock that scene made me a fan forever and to have it on Blue Ray was a real treasure and something I will enjoy for many years. I had this set on DVD but I had to have Blue Ray .

I ordered the Planet of the Apes box set on a Best buy daily deal. From the discription I thought that I was getting a DVD set but to my surprise it was on bluray. I watched it with my 2 boys but they think it is too old school with poor special effects. I love the classic with Roddy Mcdowell and Charlton Heston.

So ok: The first one is still interesting and entertaining although nastier than I remembered...Does ANYBODY "like" the Heston lead character? I think we're not supposed to like him, but that makes the film hard to watch. The second is Not Bad and each of the following 3 is pretty terrible. BUT....the Series as a whole is greater than the sum of its parts and remains fascinating for all sorts of reasons. So watch the whole thing and THINK about it!

I think one of the reasons there is so much animosity against this one is that it this series undeniably dated and its over 40 years old. I thought all of these were fun films traveling to different planets and into the future. The computer technology wasn't were it is today with the new planet of the apes movies they are up to date. if you like SCFI then you should enjoy this series.

I got this set for about $20 and it's a wonderful item for that price. The transfers are done well and the sound is balanced well on the blu rays. Of course the effects haven't aged that well, but these are classics and I think this set is the definitive version to date.

Great series of 5 movies that speak to the social injustices of the day. Talks about prejudice, ethnic cleansing, excesses of war, slavery, animal testing and environmental issues. By the standards of the day, these were very progressive movies. Their social statements are are still applicable today.

I haven't seen these movies for years, The discs are loaded with extras and Documentaries with some interactive content also. The version I received didn't have this cover it was the Legacy collection cover .Picture and sound quality was good for such old movies.

Was inspired to pick up this collection after seeing the most recent one in the theaters. Probably had the original Planet of the Apes movie on VHS (yes, I am that ancient), but it's long gone. Am giving a 4 star rating for the collection in it's entirety. For myself, only 3 of the five movies are worthy of 4 or 5 stars. But hey, for the price, I sure cannot complain. Great way to catch up / fill in on the entire arc of the Planet of the Apes franchise.

Yes, the producers of this series really "did it." They made a series of movies that remains interesting and provocative to this day even though they didn't have the CGI resources available to them that the new films use so well. The first film is the "classic" of course but all five are well worth seeing. The set comes with a good set of 'extras' as well which will add to your appreciation of the movies.

I loved this series since i was a little kid, talking apes, alternate earths were apes were the dominate species was unheard of. This collection has all 5 original films and they look and sound great in blu-ray high def. Fans of Planet of the apes should buy this collection

These movies have been a favorite of my since I was a kid! There are lots of extras, which I dig! The picture on blu ray was outstanding! If you have never seen them you in for a treat. Beware they are from the 60's & the 70's.

Picked up this 5 Film Box-set for a very low price of 12.99 on New Years Day. Worth every penny as it was on my wishlist for quite a while and at that price; it's a no brainer. The Transfer/Remastering on the picture could've been better but I'm not really complaining at this price.

I was a kid when the first one came out , my mom didn't think it was suited for us kids so we had to sneek to go see it. I love it, and remember I couldn't wait tell the second one came out. Now I can see the first five anytime, thanks best buy.

Planet of the Apes is one of the all time classic movies, great to see it in high definition at last. Also great to have the whole collection in one package. A few of the later films are a little cheesier, but still great for their time and for pure nostalgia.

Bought this set at a great price. I remember going to see Beneath the Planet of the Apes as a kid. Instantly became a fan of the franchise. Even watched the short lived TV series with Rodney McDowall. The movies look great and the sound is fantastic! This was a great buy!

When these movies were first in theaters that's where I saw them. Today they look even better on Blu Ray and being on sale for 19.99 it's a real good buy. The newer franchise in theaters have more CGI with bells and whistles but the storyline was better in the older format. Plus they didn't have CGI and had to use visual effects and real people to do all the stunt work.

Have always loved the POTA movies and had to add them to my blu-ray collection! The picture and sound are top notch and there are some pretty great and in depth special features too. If you're a fan, you won't regret picking it up.

What's there to say? Great series of movies on blu-ray at a great price. If you're an Apes fan, what's there to think about? I personally prefer this box set to the new one that collects all of them in a single case. There's a little more flair here.

I grew up on these movies, well at least the first three - love having the all in a set. Kids these days don't seem to get it... too much CGI now a days. But these movies are classic and for the time they were revolutionary... can't help liking these movies.
