I've always hated in-ear earbuds, and was skeptical buying anything from Plantronics as I've never bought any of their products. The comfort, ease of use, and the SOUND QUALITY completely blew away my expectations, and that's coming from someone who prefers Bose QuietComfort-25's. I highly recommend these to anybody looking for something relatively inexpensive. Pros: Cost | Audio Quality | Lightweight | Long Battery | Comfort Cons: Charges using Micro USB That's it. Buy them.

    UltraLight Wireless Earbuds-Outstanding Sound,Life

There are many options for playing music from your phone: internal speakers, external speakers, wired earphones and wireless earphones. I believe that for active users like me wireless earphones are the best choice. If you run, bike or work out regularly you certainly want to be free from wires and cannot use external speakers. The issue with wireless earphones is whether to get expensive self-contained earphones which fit in the ear and have no connecting wires (such as Apple AirPods) or earphones which have a cable connecting the right earphone to the left earphone. Plantronics has a great product called the BackBeat Fit 305 which are the latter type. The BackBeat Fit 305 earbuds offer wireless connectivity and fit very securely in the ear. They are priced less than half the cost of AirPods and other fully wireless earbuds but offer some significant advantages. The battery life is much longer, the earbuds are much lighter and they are more secure and harder to lose. Included in the box (see photo) are the earbuds, instructions, three sets (small, medium and large) of alternate tips with loops (which fit into the ear to secure the bud), a USB charging cable and a nice mesh drawstring pouch to hold everything. Plantronics also has a free app (of course!) that you download to your phone (either Android or iPhone versions) which gives you additional instructions and a “find my headset” feature. Everything looks very well made and the earbuds have a special sweat-resistant coating to protect them from moisture. The cable is braided and has a reflective stripe to make the earbud easier to spot if you drop them. First step is to charge the ear buds. Just attach the charging cable, plug it into your computer or a USB outlet and LED lights will tell you when they are fully charged (about two hours when fully discharged.) Plantronics says a full charge will provide six hours playing time but I have used my set for at least seven hours before recharging. Next, pair the earbuds with your phone via Bluetooth. An audio prompt guides you and the app gives full instructions, but my phone paired them quickly and without drama. Put the earbuds in your ears and the loop will secure it there. You can now start playing music immediately. The Fit 305 will respond to various voice commands, allow you to interact with Siri, take calls, etc. The inline control has three raised symbols (+, -, square) which turn the earphones on/off, raise/lower volume, skip tracks (forward and backward), pause and repeat tracks and has a microphone for use during calls. Full instructions are included in the app but the use is pretty intuitive. Sound quality is superb, very clear, distortion-free with excellent midrange and highs. The bass is not as deep as you could get from over-the-ear headphones but quite acceptable and definitely better than most wireless earbuds. The earbuds are very light (about one-half ounce) and the connecting cable is not noticeable when you use them, especially if you use the included clip to attach the cable to your clothing. I have two minor qualms about the earbuds. First, the control unit is placed just 3 inches from the right earbud. It was probably placed there to give quick access but I think if it were located in the center of the cable between the two earbuds it would be easier to use and provide better weight balance. The other issue is the odd aesthetic choice by the designer. The short right cable from the control unit is a different color than the longer cable going to the left earbud. Each color version of the BackBeat Fit 305 has this strange color combination (dark blue/light blue, black/grey, grey/lime green, grey/red.) Not a functional issue and maybe some will like the combination, but it just seems a bit off to me. The Bluetooth connection is super-reliable. I have used the earbuds in my home and can walk 30 feet from my phone without a connection break. If you lose connection it quickly restores itself when you come back into range. Bottom line - the Plantronics BackBeat 305 earbuds are an excellent value for serious music fans who want a dependable workout partner. You will be glad you chose them!!!

Plantronics - Backbeat FIT 305 Wireless In-Ear Headphone audio quality is very good and it is comfortable to use as well. Setup is very easy and able to pair with phone very quickly using Bluetooth. Plantronics makes very good headsets for business and this one is another great product from them. The build quality is great and it looks stylish as well. Right and left sides are clearly indicated by different color (Light Blue for Right) and it is a great idea rather than trying to find small R, L letters. The bass is really good. Sound quality is outstanding as you expect from Plantronics products and it is crystal clear. Battery life is good up to 6 hours of continuous use. Bluetooth range is great and no need to worry about disconnect while you are few feet away from phone. I am pleased with Plantronics - Backbeat FIT 305 Wireless In-Ear Headphone sound and build quality and recommend to anyone without any hesitation.

    Clear, Comfortable, However Sensitive

I really enjoyed the headset, overall it was very comfortable to wear, fit well within my ears and lightweight to prevent fatigue. My only concern was the mic being very sensitive and position of it sometimes cause it to rub against some of my clothes. The charging via USB was easy and quick with a single charge lasting over a week of usage. Hardware - Made well with additional ear bud sizes available to help fit your ear. The USB charge insert was well hidden and the flap appears durable. I really liked how they included a clip to help keep from falling completely off. I used the clip when I ran just incase it falls or when i need a place to hang them for a moment. Software - No software needed, it connects through Bluetooth without any problems. The instructions were clear and helpful with pairing and paired with my Note 8 on first attempt. The volume controls and play feature was very responsive to the point I never had to look at my phone to verify. Battery - Battery life was above average on moderate usage. I used for about a week before it needed to be recharged. The charging was slow but with it lasting a long time I do not mind it. Just be careful when using the plug as the connector is small on the headset and you dont want to over exert it.

The Backbeat FIT 305 headphones are very nice. They are lightweight, the ear-tips are EXTREMELY comfortable, and they sound great. Right out of the box, these even leave you with a good first impression; the cloth covered cord is a nice addition that gives the headphones a quality look and feel. These headphones came fully charged, so all I had to do was pair them with my phone which was quick and simple. There are additional ear-tips that can be used, but the ones that came installed were perfect for my ears. The ear-tips are super soft, but instead of being round, they're oval. The fit, at least for me, was incredible, and subsequently the noise isolation was superb. I wore them for 2-3 hours while I was doing yard work (raking/blowing leaves, moving downed branches, trimming bushes/trees) and not once did these headphones feel like they were going to move, let alone fall out! The clip that's included on the cord allows you to clip the cord to your clothing and greatly minimized the typical 'rubbing' noise I expected from the cord hitting my jacket. The typical 3-button controls are a nice change from some of the similar headphones I have because they're easily distinguishable from each other and spaced a bit farther apart, so it's fairly easy to find the button you're looking for. As far as the sound goes, I was more than pleased; talk radio was crisp and music was rich and clear. I also took a call during the first use and the sound on that was perfectly clear on my end as well as the caller's. The only thing that I didn't like is that I couldn't figure out how to pair to another device after the headphones were powered on (I'm not sure you can even do that); you have to turn the headphones off and then back on to pair. Not a show stopper, just something I noticed. These headphones are supposed to offer about 6 hours of use on a full charge, but mine still stated the battery level was high after well over 2 hours of use. Overall, these headphones are a no-brainer. They offer extreme comfort and fit, very nice noise isolation and great sound. What else do they need to do? I would definitely recommend these.

The Plantronics backbeat 305 wireless headsets come in a minimal package. Package contains a storage bag with micro usb cord and various sizes of ear tips which can be easily swapped. They last about 6 hours on a charge and have a standby time of 10 days which is quite acceptable. The charging time from zero to full is about 2 hours. The headset has a braided cable and feels really good quality in hand. They are two tone, the left and right are different shades of blue. There is a clip in the center that can be attached to your t-shirt so they dont slide off when not in use and stay n place while running. Voice quality on calls is very good and the other end party never complained they couldn’t hear me. Plantronics does say these are HD voice certified. I was also able to pair them up with my mac and use them on Skype without any issues. They are BT 4.1 compliant. The ear-tips have a very secure fit and feel really comfortable blocking out a decent amount of surrounding noise. The sound was very balanced and had no issues staying connected. The headset is IPX5 certified waterproof and after using them for runs and biking they have held up really well. Very happy with the quality and features of this headset.

Just got the Plantronics BackBeat FIT 305 wireless earbuds, they connect to your device via Bluetooth and each of the earbuds are attached to each other via a nice braided cord, with the usual on/off, volume, multifunction control block of towards the right ear bud. These wireless earbuds connect via Bluetooth seamlessly and sound awesome. I was actually pretty surprised by the clarity of sound provided by these earbuds. When listening to my goto set of tunes I noticed sounds that I have not heard since I used higher end, closed ear headphones. These are comfortable to wear and the battery lasted me about six hours at moderate volume. The package includes a small bag with USB charging cord and two other pairs of different size earbuds. I am very happy with these earbuds as they sound great and are built with a high level of quality. Pros: - awesome sound - braided cord between earbuds - good battery life - supplied alternative size earbuds (2 additional sizes) - storage bag, with charging cord Cons: - Control block slightly larger than usual and “blocky”

I first got the Backbeat Fit earphones as a gift and I was hesitant but interested as well because I have had Plantronic's Bluetooth phone headsets and they are always a crisp and high definition quality for talking over the phone. These are very much the same and people say I sound great. I am sure you've gone through a pair or four of headsets that just don't cut it for talking on the phone while on your way to a workout. Plantronics did not play with bass either. The sound is clear and pristine. The bass gives you a pump enough to drown out the loud machines or weight dropping at your gym. These earphones are also so light your don't even feel them in your ear and the ear tips are soft and easy to fit. I love that the wire is nostalgic and reminiscent of a jump rope. So these have great features and the design is very hip and trendy. As you can see in the picture they are simple and great stocking stuffers for Christmas. Um... I love mine that I'm going to get some for this year's white elephant party!

Ok, it’s not that difficult for me to get motivated for a run or gym visit, but these Bakkbear FIT wireless headphones make me wish I could go more often. To me, headphones are a relatively inexpensive splurge that can improve a workout by shutting out the world (external sound) and taking me to my own place (getting into the music). So a few things have to happen for success: 1- they have to be super easy to set up and connect to my phone-every time. Check! 2-the ear buds must be comfortable. Check! 3- the ear buds fit well enough to eliminate external sound 4- they have to sound great. To me, that is full, balanced sound. Not too much base, good mid, no tinny highs. Check! 5- the battery has to give me a week of workouts (5.5 to 7 hours) Check! I really enjoy these and have gifted my old ear buds to someone less discerning.

These headphones sound really good for the price range that they are in there even comparable to some of my more expensive headphones I own, the base is deep the treble is high just overall good sound. They fit securely in your ear with the loop and I had no issues with them falling out or even feeling like they wanted to fall out. Battery life has been as advertised which isn't the greatest out there but it will get you through most workouts or most days. My only issue was the size of the control box it's a little bulky and big and if you don't secure the headphones right with the little clip that can take up the extra cord you might find it flopping around but secure the cord properly and you probably will not have an issue. It is also a nice feature that they are sweat resistant as well. I usually don't sweat a lot but you might and it's nice to know that your headphones won't be ruined by that or a little rain. If you're looking for good sounding headphones for decent price you should give these ones a shot you can't go wrong.

Finally found a really nice in-ear set of earbuds. The quality, both sound and fit is something you would expect from Plantronics. They rarely disappoint. I found these buds stay in my ear better than most. They have rubber oval ring that takes up the space of your ear to hold them in. I am using the largest size that was supplied and could actually use an even larger ring due to my large irregular shaped ears. (see pic.) Other than that the sound quality was a really nice surprise. Great bass response and clear mids and highs. You get audio feedback when you turn them on and off and you also hear battery level. (Low, Med. High). I would rather hear this in percentage personally. However, if you download and open the PLT Hub app, that will show you time left in hours and minutes. The app will also let you locate the headset if lost and also shows an instruction card. (no EQ though). Use the clip in the middle of the wire to attach to your shirt collar. This really prevents them from moving around. Simple, but a nice touch. Great battery life as well, more than many others I have tried. Overall, these are my recommended earbuds to date.

Very light weight in ear headphones. Came with three (3) size ear pieces. Nicely color coded ear piece and cable, baby blue for Right ear, Dark Blue/Black for Left. Microphone produced moderate quality sound on the callers end, so can easily be used for connecting to hands free calling.(This was my opinion but ambient noise can affect sound pickup). I liked the little clip in the center of the cable to secure it to my shirt or to shorten the 'noose' around the back of my neck. three (3) sizes of earbud cushions helps get a better fit. Also love the loop to remove the bud from my ears (always scared I will have difficulty removing earplugs. The cord rubbing on my shirt also produced a little noise more noticeable when no music or sounds are playing. Charging is easy with an included micro-USB cable. And small mesh pouch for storage and fast drying (sweat).

    Great Sound, Painful Fit

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The FIT 305s are designed to be wireless headphones for the athletic or active lifestyle, lightweight with a durable sheath over the wires leading between the 2 buds. The sound quality is extremely good, including great low bass range and the silicone ear buds do a good job of sealing out outside noise. Unfortunately, that's where the PROs stop and the CONs start. I found the headphones uncomfortable to wear for more than about 15 minutes. The slide-on silicone 1-piece buds, which include a flexible loop meant to hold the buds in, rubbed and pushed hard on my ear canal, making them painful to wear, a pain that didn't go away for a few minutes after removing the headphones. This wasn't an issue with the size of the in-ear buds, rather the design of the slide-on 1-piece bud that encompasses both the in-ear bud and out-of-ear loop (see photo). Additionally, the cord, if not properly secured, transfers the sound from any motion or rubbing up against your shirt right into the ear buds themselves. So when running, where you have a constant up & down motion allowing the cord to move & flop, it converted all of that into sound which I found annoying. The cord does include a clip to secure the loose cord to the collar of your shirt, but isn't enough to stop that motion & the transferred sound. The controls (and mic) are located on the right side of the headphones, which makes them a little lopsided, allowing the right ear bud to pull itself out after excessive motion like running. I found myself having to push the ear bud back in (again, not due to the improper size). Also, the cord and right ear bud are a light blue color, while the remainder of the cord leading to the left ear bud & the ear bud itself was dark blue. I couldn't figure out what the concept of the 2 difference colors were and why everything wasn't the same color (see photo). In the end, the discomfort of wearing these far outweighed the incredible sound, which was disappointing. I really wanted to like these, but if you can't comfortably wear them you won't wear them at all, which makes this a waste for me.

Thank you for taking the time to review the BackBeat FIT 305, however we are sorry to hear you're experiencing trouble getting a comfortable fit with your earbuds.

The rubbing noise is a ‘stethoscope’ effect of any occluding earbud‐style headphone (fabric or rubber). This effect is slightly louder with a fabric cable rather than a TPE cable. As an active headphone, the fabric cable was intentionally selected despite this challenge because it has less friction rubbing on moist skin in motion (than a typical TPE cable has). Fabrics can also gather debris.

At first I was disappointed in the fit, I couldn’t get a good seal and bass was not at all noticeable. However, even though I usually use the medium ear tips for headphones, these needed the small ones for me. Once I used those and twisted the headphone ever so slightly in my ear, it locked in, made a seal and audio sounded crisp and clear. The build feels strong, though the braided cover is nice, it leaves potential to retain the smell of sweat. Unlike other short wired headphones where I could hear some wind whistling across the wire, these did not whistle but if they brush up against anything, you hear the rough texture. The retention clip is more secure than others that I have used, so less potential of losing it, though it is still plastic. I consistently get about 6 hours of straight music streaming time from a full charge, though if I use them here and there they can last for up to 10 days dependent on use. The rigid cable helps keep the control box from swinging wildly into my head, but it takes a moment to get oriented with the buttons every time I go to use them.

I've had 8 runs with these. If you use the clip closer to where the battery is on the cord, there is zero bouncing, and the sound quality is outstanding. After a week and then some, it still says 'battery high' when I turn them on. Sweat proof, excellent bass, very immersive audio experience similar to beats. 5 stars all the way.

The Running Buds I’ve been Missing

As someone who likes to go running and walking for exercise, I’m always on the lookout for earbuds that don’t move around and also have a full range sound. A lot of exercising earbuds deliver great treble, OK mid and no bass. They also seem to find a way to jostle out of my ears as I exercise. The Plantronics Backbeat Fits are an awesome find. The nylon cord that connects them resists sweat and also have a handy clip that keeps it securely connected to the collar of my shirt. I was able to listen to music that had a better quality of sound and even kick over to a conference call during the middle of a run. The Backbeats are also nice because they’re not stupidly expensive like some other workout headphones. There’s a reason we use Plantronics devices at work for all our headsets and I think the Backbeat 305 is another notch in the win column. No matter if you’re an avid runner or someone who just wants a nice pair of earbuds for music / work, the Plantronics Backbeat 305’s are something you should seriously consider.

Finding the right headphones for me was a difficult challenge. I looked, I researched reviews, I spoke with Best Buy employees...and more. First set were Bose. Nope! For that price, it better sound better than that! Second set were Beats. Nope! For that price it better sound better than that AND have a better battery. Plus, I found them to be uncomfortable. Third time's a charm, right? Jaybird. Nope! I remembered when Plantronics was a player in the bluetooth ear piece era (Come on, I know some of you reading this were walking around with that in your ear!). So, I figured that I would try these. If it didn't work, then I'm throwing in the towel! Thankfully, the fourth time is the charm. This headset is comfy, and the battery lasts a long time. The sound, for me, is great. To me, they are worth the price, but hey, definitely grab a pair if you find them on sale. I think you'll be pleased!
