I absolutely love my new wireless Plantronics 3100 earbuds. It took me a little bit to get them paired with my phone, but I think that was just operator error. I use these at the gym all the time. I would definitely recommend these earbuds.

Great earphones for working out or jogging. You can still hear outside noise such as a car, etc.

I’ve been using the BackBeat Fit 3100 headphones for a week or so and I’ve been relatively impressed. They are light weight, pretty comfortable, and the battery life suits my needs. These are definitely NOT noise cancelling and are not advertised as such. They are intended to let you hear what’s going on around you. Because of this, the seal in your ear feels loose and at first I was afraid they would fall out. However, even with pretty vigorous movement I haven’t had any issues. The eartips are not interchangeable, so if they don’t fit your ears, you’re just out of luck. That’s a drawback for me even though the fit is decent. Sound quality is about what you’d expect from true wireless headphones in this price range. Fairly good, but not excellent. Bass response is minimal but there is no tininess to the highs. Unlike another pair of true wireless headphones I own, I haven’t had connection or dropout issues with the Plantronics. Once connected, they work which is kind of the point. The tap controls leave a little to be desired and could be more responsive. Overall, these are a solid set of entry-level true wireless earbuds.

Had Bought a few other Plantronic headsets so was hoping for more good service with this latest version but was majorly disappointed by this product. Response time between pressing a button and the effect was way too slow like dialup causing multiple presses and confusion. Also poor sound quality and low maximum volume.

Thank you for sharing your feedback on our BackBeat FIT 3100. We're sorry to hear our product did not meet your expectations. Unlike our previous BackBeat FIT, this model has capacitive touch buttons. These are larger buttons, making it easier to navigate and causes less pressure inside the ear. In regards of its volume capacity, please note the BackBeat FIT 3100 have Always Aware™ eartips that allow you to hear your surroundings for safer training in any environment. In addition to this, all of our headsets meet and exceed OSHA standard regulations/requirements. None of our headsets exceed 118dBA. In any case we thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will forward your comments to our Product Development team as a consideration in the future when making new products. If you would like to see a detailed user guide: https://goo.gl/4B6fu6. Feel free to contact our Customer Care Team at: https://www.plantronics.com/us/en/support/contact if you have any questions!

These were pretty easy to set up and fun to use. They appear pretty well made and are also lightweight. They are waterproof and they stay on pretty snug so they are also great for workouts which is what they are primarily aimed at. Ambient noise does get in and also they do not get very loud. Decent audio quality and lasts around 4 hours.

Nice upgrade

I've used the original BackBeat Fits for almost 2 years and absolutely love them for my use. Recommend them to any one asking about wireless headphones.
These will be the one's i recommend now! They connect easily, have longer battery life compared to already great battery life of the original.
Can operate as dual or single mode if you just want to use as a headset.
Fit is awesome definitely softer than original as they took a few uses to break in and hurt your ears a little in the process, once they warmed up on the sun they molded to your ear. The 3100 fit perfectly, light and no ear soreness after a few hours of wear while doing yard work.
I love that they're NOT noise cancelling. I can hear the ambient noises whatever I'm doing.
Sound... Awesome! Again an upgrade over the original. Using just the right earbud I did notice a little distortion and sound level is quiter overall than original.
Use, took me a little bit to retrain myself on button presses. And the instructions give basic info.
If you only use right ear bud then you don't get volume control (still can on phone obviously), but can start/stop/advance song and launch voice assistant as well as turn on/off.
Left ear bud has volume by tapping (think touch screen) and on/off via button click.
The only thing a little awkward is the case design, as the earbuds sit opposite of the ear they are, right ear left-side of case. I'm guessing the case doesn't have a battery, as the documentation does not state it.
When taking a earbud out of the case it automatically turns on and will first connect to the opposite bud saying "headphones connected" . Then connects to a device saying "device connected."
My phone is in pocket with each use so cannot comment on range. I wouldn't expect much.
I did not try to pair with my Moto 360 Sport Watch, so cannot comment on watches.
Like every new product on the market these days that has a battery, it does not state anywhere the proper or accepted voltage the buds/case can handle.
I do like the case it keeps everything compact and neat. Easy to stick in a cargo pocket or small compartment in the vehicle.
Highly recommend to anyone in the market for true wireless earbuds. If not can't go wrong with the original/2100 series.

Great Bluetooth Headphones!

Wow, what a nice set of headphones! They have a great, rich sound!! Bass sounds really good (have it turned up in the music player equalizer). These are much better than other bluetooth headphones I have, even with the "Always Aware" design. I have the volume turned almost as low as it can go or they're almost too loud for me. They are fairly comfortable to wear, just haven't tried for longer than an hour yet. Having the ear loops to hold them in place are nice, and can't really tell they are there. I don't run, but seems that staying wouldn't be a problem. It took a while to get used to the multi-function buttons, being different for each ear.
It comes with a nice zippered charging case with about a 3" micro USB charging cable, but it's a little weird that they are stored on the opposite sides in the case.
The BackBeat FIT Companion app isn't working, at least on Android (and at least on my phone). It won't show the connected headphones. The app itself hasn't been updated since August 2017. Hope they update it soon so I can manage the button functions.

This is Plantronics wireless version of their popular wired Backbeat GO 3. First off they are comfortable and the audio quality is quite good.
Plantronics designed the SRS-XB501G with user safety in mind, and honestly I wasn't sure that I'd like that. I mean we wear buds to drown out the outside world, right?
They did it right. It was quite easy to enjoy the music but still be completely aware of my surroundings. Being waterproof, I couldn't resist taking them into the pool for a float and swim. They stayed put and remained comfortable.
The controls are easy to get used to. Download the app on Google Play or Apple to customize your control of the left ear bud. The right controls volume. As for charging, simply put them back in their case and they'll be good to go.
The SRS-XB501G is completely compatable with all popular personal assistants.

Biggest in-ear problem solved!

I’ve tried several different in-ear headphones, and these actually work for me! Of the several different models I’ve used in the past, these actually stay on. Every time I’ve tried them in the past, they’ll be in for a little while before one ear just pops out. I don’t know if my ear is shaped differently, but I’ve never been able to keep them in before. With the hook over the ear, I have no problem keeping these on/in.
I like the style of these better than most that I’ve tried. Many in-ear buds have bright colors or bright white, but these are a bit more non-descript. The metallic finish is a very nice touch.
Audio: The audio quality on these is pretty nice. It’s not to the level of Bose or Sony’s high-end offerings, but it also costs about half of what those do. There’s no noise-cancelling, but if they stay in and sound good, that’s a welcome trade in my book.
Controls: The touch controls are easy enough to get used to, and versatile enough for most any need. I find it a little odd to push hard enough to click something that is inside my ear, but controlling volume by just touching the left ear is nice.
Battery: I’ve used these for a few hours, and haven’t had a problem with the battery life. It certainly helps that placing them into the case turns them off and charges them.
My only real issue with these is a pet peeve that they make you install a product-specific app just to connect with Bluetooth. This seems utterly unnecessary.
Overall, these are great headphones for athletics that actually stay I your ears. If you’ve had problems with in-ear headphones coming out, these have reasonably solved that problem.
