The one big deficiency is you can not pair 2 devices at the same time like you can with the 2100 model.

Terrible Product. The product had been lightly used and the case stopped charging one day after the return period ended. They are completely useless at this point and don't even make a good paper weight. Stopped charging just days after the return period. Very disappointed with the product and Best Buy in general for not standing by the products they sell. Will 100% look elsewhere before ordering from Best Buy again and Plantronics if off the list of products I would buy.

Hello and thank you for your honest review on our Backbeat FIT 3100 headset, however, we are sorry to hear about your experience. Charging issues with Bluetooth headsets can be a problem caused by the power source, cable or the product itself (it can be the charging connector or the battery on some cases). You may want to try charging the case using a different charging cable and power source to completely isolate the issue. Please also make sure the pins on the case and headset are not damaged or missing. If for some reason the charging case still has the same issue, it will be best to replace the unit. Remember this unit counts with a limited warranty since the first day of purchase, and if you need a replacement you can click on the following link for further instructions: https://bit.ly/2N637EC. TERRIBLE & does not work in the gym

These are really terrible in the gym. There is so much interference that your non-primary bud will continuously go in and out or lose connection. If you're a runner that's mainly outside, you probably won't notice as it seems this pair has a problem connecting indoors, specifically in 2.4 GHz environments or around a lot of people also wearing wireless headsets/headphones. For the price, this is a REALLY terrible product.

Hello! Thank you for your review on our Backbeat FIT 3100 headset, however, we are sorry to hear about your experience. If you are experiencing some connectivity issues with the headset, you may want to reset the Bluetooth connection with your mobile. To do so: 1) Unpair the headset from your mobile phone by accessing your Bluetooth settings. 2) Power off your mobile phone for 2 minutes and turn it back on. 3) Re-pair the headset. With the headset powered off, press and hold down the right ear bud until you hear "pairing". 4) Access to your Bluetooth settings and select "PLT_BBFIT 3100". Once successfully paired, you will hear "pairing successful". You may also want to reset the headset through the Backbeat mobile app and check if it doesn't have any updates available. Last but not least, we recommend testing the headset with a different mobile to completely isolate the issue. If for some reason you still encounter the same issue, then it means the headset has an actual problem and it is best to replace it. Hello and thank you for your review, however, we are sorry to hear about your experience. If you are experiencing some low volume on the headset, you may want to try increasing the volume directly from your mobile to see if there is an improvement. Next time, you may also want to reset the Bluetooth connection. To do so: 1) Unpair the headset from your mobile phone by accessing your Bluetooth settings. 2) Power off your mobile phone for 2 minutes and turn it back on. 3) Re-pair the headset. With the headset powered off, click and hold down the right ear bud until your hear "pairing". 4) Access to your Bluetooth settings and select "PLT_BBFIT 3100". Once successfully paired, you will hear "pairing successful" and the LED on your headset will stop flashing red and blue. Last but not least we recommend testing the headset with a different mobile to completely isolate the issue. If for some reason you still encounter the same issue, then it means the headset has an actual problem and it is best to replace it. Best wireless earbuds I have
|

I have tried a few wireless earbuds and they all vary in functionality and quality. These happen to be the best overall earbuds I have used.
The quality of the earbuds are very high right out of the box. Plantronics ear pieces are typically very high quality and these are no exception.
I powered them up and paired them up right away. Both earbuds worked right away with no issues. When you dock them in their charging case they power off. Then when you remove them they both pair with your device instantly. There have been no issues with this process so far.
The battery life of these is very good. They have lasted me easily over 4 hours. This is more than enough for basic workouts or even long jogs.
The comfort level of these sport earbuds are perfect. I have absolutely no complaints about comfort or fit. They wrap around the ear for a secure fit as well. I don't have to worry about them falling out or me losing them.
The connection stability is very good, sometimes can get choppy but way better than the other wireless earbuds I use.
Overall I really like these sport earbuds and they feel like they will last me a very long time.

many advantages, one shortcoming

Plantronics has addressed many of the shortcomings of other earbuds in this category. Battery life is much better than most of the competition. I usually have to travel with two sets of earbuds because they don't have enough battery life to last an entire flight. These should have enough juice to make it through even the longest flights. Most true wireless earbuds don't have volume control built in; you either have to pull out your phone to change volume or, if you have a compatible smart watch, use that. These have one touch sensitive ear bud and one with a clickable button. The touch sensitive bud can either be used to control volume or for special actions that you can select through the associated app, for example selecting a playlist. However, you have to pick one or the other; you can't do both without changing the settings in the app. The clickable bud handles all the usual functions you find on earbuds. The only issue I found with these is that they fit loosely in my ears. There's no danger of them falling out thanks to the ear loop, but it degrades the quality of the sound. That may be good if you're running and want to hear street noise, but it's less good if you want better bass or to isolate yourself from outside sounds. There are also no extra tips in different sizes to adjust the fit; these are one size fits all. They're certainly comfortable to wear, but you're not going to be able to adjust them much. The app works fine, but it's not useful for much other than switching the special function of the touch sensitive earbud. Although, there is a nice feature to help you find a lost set of earbuds by remembering the last place they were connected.. if you're the kind of person who leaves them places.

Best Earbuds I’ve Owned

These BackBeat Fit 3100 earbuds are hands down the best earbuds I’ve ever owned. For starters they come well packaged and ready to go right from the box. Upon unboxing them I found a nice carrying case inside. I noticed right away that the case was what charges them. When I opened the case up I found these 2 very sharp looking earbuds. Once placed in my ear I noticed immediately how comfortable they are to wear. Pairing was extremely easy and the sound quality is great. I really enjoy using them during my daily run and workout. I thoroughly enjoy these earbuds and find them great for an active lifestyle.

Great true wireless alternative to other options

I love these headphones. They are an upgrade from my previous, original Backbeat Fit which I also loved, but had become long in the tooth (mainly because of degraded battery life after 2-3 years of heavy usage). The thing that is great about these headphones is the unique shape of the ear "buds." Rather than buds, they are more cone-shaped that not only allow for fitting in ears for people whose ears are not amenable to other shapes, but they also allow some minimal background sounds through, so you're not completely isolated from the outside world. And, because they don't need a high pressure seal into your ear canals, they can be worn longer without discomfort.
I haven't run into any issues with the true wireless features of the headphones and the quoted battery life seems to be spot on - I can get about a full week's worth of daily half hour work outs before needing to charge them via the included charging case.

Excellent Wireless Workout Earbuds

The BackBeat Fit 3100 wireless sport earbuds are great. I love that they have over-the-ear earpieces, as they stay on very well when running or working in the yard. The have a five hour play time, but then the case for the earbuds can recharge the,m up to two times, giving a total of 15 hours of playtime, which is a great amount if on a business trip.
As for the setup, they paired easily and sound great.

These things are great when they work , i.e. when I am sitting down or moving slowly. But every time I move fast, even walk fast, this thing goes down the toilet. The secondary earbud (left one by default), starts cutting off, and that is an extremely irritating experience when listening to music
These earbuds are not meant to be my workstation earphones, they are meant for activity and they are useless in that category due to this defect.
To top it off, the controls again are very finicky, especially the touch "tap" to change volume, instead of a click. It works when it wants to else you just take out your phone and change the volume from there.
The only reason it is 2 stars and not 1, is because when they work the sound quality is good, and when I have received calls the other side has been able to hear me well, and I can hear their voice crisply.
Ohh, and they do not have a great range away from your source, so beware.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on our BackBeat FIT 3100. We're sorry to hear you were not able to find a secure fit. Please try rotating the eartip between a plus and minus 20° range to achieve an optimal fit and sound. Regarding the audio issues, please try resetting the connection between the phone and the 3100. https://goo.gl/XqaAdw You might also want to ensure your unit's firmware is up to date through the BackBeat App. Resetting through the app as well might solve the issue. Testing your headset with different phones and also at different locations and while connected to a single device at a given time is ideal in order to isolate the cause of the problem. Please note this unit has a one-year limited warranty from date of purchase. We thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will forward your comments to our team for consideration. Our Customer Care Team is available at: https://www.plantronics.com/us/en/support/contact if you require further assistance

I like these headphones but they don’t get loud enough which is bad since these let sound in. These deserve a 3.5 more then a 3 but it’s not a 4. They are like the power beats 3 which Apple sells but without the wires. These won’t be falling off yourself during a workout. They are also waterproof with a IP57 rating so I wouldn’t worry about it getting wet. The case it comes in also works as a charging case as well with an extra two charges and these are rated at 5 hours of playback on one charge. These lack bass but that could just because of the open and not a good seal. Overall these do a good job but it just doesn’t get loud enough for me.
