Customers are enthusiastic about the RIG 500 PRO Wired Dolby Atmos Gaming Headset's amazing sound quality and comfortable fit. Many appreciate the convenient flip-to-mute microphone and the immersive Dolby Atmos experience. While some users wish for a longer cable, the overall positive feedback highlights the headset's lightweight design and effective volume control. The headset's bass response, however, has received mixed reviews.

These headphones are absolutely perfect. My son plays his online games with them. I turn on my music in the house and no one is disturbed.

Comfortable, but BIG warning to PC Gamers

Let me start this review off with a warning to anyone planning to purchase this for a PC. This headset while being supposedly designed with PC gamers in mind comes equipped with a single 3.5mm cable. For those gaming on some laptops that may present itself as a non-issue as they often times come equipped with a single 3.5mm jack with combined output and mic capability. For the rest of us, the design is problematic unless Plantronics had seen fit to provide a 3.5mm headset splitter. This would have allowed for one audio output jack and one mic input jack. This is such a glaring oversight that I have docked them an entire star. Why you might ask? Mostly because Plantronics makes it a point to market the headset as being optimized for PC. I am sorry, but without the adapter it is useless as a PC gaming headset in my book. I ordered one and am now in business... fact is, I should never have had to order one.
Ok, on to the actual review. The RIG 500 Pro is a supremely comfortable headset to use. It is very easy to adjust and once fitted can easily be worn for hours without fatigue. The mic has a physical flip up/down on/off setting which is very convenient if you need to quickly mute yourself during play. The audio is nice and balanced for the price. No, it isn't going to replace your $1k magnetic planar headphones for music listening, but they still sound decent regardless. The mic is clear and easy to understand based on my testing with a few remote players I asked. Overall, the headset is comfortable and offers clear audio. The headset also comes with a code to access Dolby Atmos for Headphones on Windows 10 PCs, as well as, Xbox and it works well enough. Is it the same as having discrete speakers? Of course not, but the effect is real enough that you can pinpoint objects behind you and even above or below assuming the game supports it. I did also test the headset on both my PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. The headset worked without issue on both as I would expect. My biggest complaint aside from the lack of an adapter is the rather short cable it comes with. For console use it was fine as it was connected to the controller, but for my PC it was a real stretch. Fortunately, the spliiter cable I picked up gave me an extra 3ft to work with. On the plus side, the supplied cable does have an inline volume control which is always nice.
For the price it is a solid, wired gaming headset. Just be sure to pick up a headset splitter if you are intending to use this with most desktop gaming PCs.

I like these headsets, but if you use them for the xbox one they seem to be really quiet unless you turn the xbox volume to the max setting. I also found the same to be true with the computer. I would get the next step up that's wireless to see if it's better.
