We recommend that you test the headset for at least a day or two to get accustomed to the leatherette material in its isolating ear cushions. If you still find wearing the headset uncomfortable or the cable coiling doesn't improve either, you might want to try another type of ear cushion or headset model. Some of our users find the breathable and open fabric ear cushions from the standard RIG 500HD more comfortable than the isolated cups on the 515HD, but it really is up to the user's preference.

Ok, i read the reviews before purchasing this headset. For those who said something bad to say, sorry I just don't see it. This headset is great sounding, lightweight and comfortable. I Choose this headset cause i have a bad habit of breaking the ear piece off. This headset allows me to take the earpieces off when i'm done, so its something I no longer have to worry about. When you first plug in your headset the sound is bad, you need to download the proper software from plantronics. after a reboot, AMAZING. I use for gaming, music, and netflix.

In my honest opinion, the headphones are very comfortable, and the 7.1 surround sounds incredible. for being a cheaper model, the headset seems pretty sturdy. Microphone also sounds nice.

First 7.1 headset

This was my first 7.1 headset, and I have to say I am very disappointed. They sound about as good as earbuds, and I can't even tell they're surround sound.
Honestly, my $35 Steelseries headset sounds way better. I've tested this on multiple PC games, all of which have sounded tinny and underwhelming.
I haven't tested the mic yet, but the headset itself is wonderfully comfortable at least.

We're sorry for your initial product experience. Plantronics RIG surround sound gaming headsets are certified by Dolby to provide exceptional directional audio performance. If you aren't hearing great audio, there are a couple of things to check. First, make sure you have downloaded and installed the latest drivers and the RIG audio panel from www.plantronics.com/RIG500drivers. Next, check your sound preferences and make sure no other drivers or hardware are enabled. Finally, in the RIG audio panel, make sure surround sound is on and then use the EQ sliders or presets to tune the sound. Great For Kids.

I am an amateur Gamer and Streamer on Twitch, and I have to say as much hype as I had for these I was extremely disappointed. Keep a look out on these though, because they have good technology and should go on sale for some big discounts. They would be great for a kid who likes playing video games and you are looking for a cheaper alternative to some better brands. As of right now, however, $80 is too high for the poor quality these produce. Almost every brand that makes a 7.1 Gaming Headset they have a MUCH higher quality product for roughly the same price. Those will never go on sale, and I can see these taking 20-30 dollars off on occasion.
Also, they fall apart very easily. The "Modular" part where they come apart makes it so the ear cups come off really easy, but they never did it when they were on my head.
