Overall, good headset. Works very well with cell phones, but does have some issues with static when using with computer for calls. Typically, after about 20 minutes of a computer call, the static gets so bad you have to disconnect and reconnect to clear up the static.

Thank you for your honest review on our Voyager 5220, we are sorry to hear you're experiencing trouble with your unit.

In order to troubleshoot connectivity or audio issues you might want to try resetting the Bluetooth connection between your phone and headset to see if that helps the issue. To do so:
      1. Delete the headset from your cell phone's list of paired devices.
      2. Once deleted, power your phone completely off, then power it back on. This resets the Bluetooth stack in the Bluetooth software on the phone.
      3. Re-pair the headset with your phone. If this does not fix your issue, we suggest pairing the headset to another cell phone as a test.

If the issue is not present on the second phone, then the problem may be with the first phone, rather than the headset. If the issue exists on the second phone as well, you will need to replace the headset. Please don't hesitate to contact our customer care group at www.plantronics.com/support if you require assistance. Plantronics

This earpiece has off and on quality issues. It is also too big around the ear making it hard to keep on as well as challenging to wear seeing eye glasses.

Hi! Thank you for your review on our Voyager 5220 headset, however, we are sorry to hear about your experience. If you are experiencing some audio issues with the headset you may want to reset the Bluetooth connection. To do so: 1) Unpair the headset from your mobile phone by accessing your Bluetooth settings. 2) Power off your mobile phone for 2 minutes and turn it back on. 3) Re-pair the headset by pressing and holding down the call control button until you see the LED flashing red and blue. 4) Access your phone Bluetooth settings and select "PLT_ V5200". You may also want to test the headset connected to a different mobile to completely isolate the issue. Wearing glasses with this headset will probably not be too comfortable depending on the type or size of the arm of the eyeglasses. We know that one size may not fit all and if you find the product too uncomfortable for normal use we strongly recommend that you consider using a headset with a different wearing style. Please don't hesitate to contact our Customer Care Team at https://www.plantronics.com/us/en/support/contact if you require assistance. plantronics

Although this is an expensive, premium priced product, it gives me the same quality and reception as a $39 headset. Constant static and noise in the reception regardless of device it is being used on.

Hello, we are sorry to hear about your experience with the Voyager 5220 headset, please try the following: 1) Completely unpair from your phone. 2) Power off and on both devices. 3) Press and hold the call button until the LED flashes red/blue on your headset. 4) Reconnect. We also recommend to download the Plantronics Hub on your computer, from our official website, connect the headset using a USB cable, click on Notifications > Search for updates, and test. If the issue continues, there might be an actual fault with the headset, in which case a replacement will be necessary. The Voyager 5220 comes with a 1 year Limited Warranty, if you continue to experience difficulties, please don't hesitate to contact Plantronics Customer Care at 855-765-7878. plantronics

This headset had a lot of static even st close range The noise reduction was good, limitations in range and sound quality outweigh the good. I retuned the device.

    Static is annoying

I haven't been using bluetooth headsets that long, so I'm not sure what my expectations should be regarding static. I'm not completely satisfied with the quality of this one, considering the price. I had purchased a $30 headset before this, and thought I would get much better quality with the Panasonic. I'm going to keep it, as the quality is better than my $30 model, but the static is pretty annoying. Not sure if there's a way to'reboot' or'reset' the headset, but I did update the firmware. Perhaps this is as good as a bluetooth headset will get.

The headset is really good overall, Plantronics is probably the best brand for headsets but I get more static with this one than with past generations! Other than that really good!

I tried high end blue tooth ear pieces of other top brands and callers could Hear all background noise. The plantronics headset was cheaper and worked much better. The only down side is some static that I need to figure out.

Works great when directly connected to my phone. Noise cancellation is fantastic. When I tried to link with my laptop for Skype calls, there was a lot of static. Ultimately had to get a Logitech wired headset for the laptop, which is why 4 stars.

I'm highly disappointed in this product considering the cost! Comfortable, works well but not worth the price. I really wish Motorolla would update the H730 my best set by far which sadly doesn't work with iPhone 7. Bought it today returning tomorrow and I will try the voyager legend and pray for better luck

That may be an issue with the headset or with the connection between the headset and phone. You might want to try resetting the Bluetooth connection between your phone and headset to see if that helps the issue.

      To do so:
      1. Delete the headset from your cell phone's list of paired devices.
      2. Once deleted, power your phone completely off, then power it back on. This resets the Bluetooth stack in the Bluetooth software on the phone.
      3. Re-pair the headset with your phone and test.

If the issue is the same we recommend testing the device with another phone to determine if it's on the phone or headset. If the issue persists even on a different phone we can replace that device, it comes with a 1 year warranty. The one drawback is its size. I mean, it's like having a transformer plastered on the side of your face. That said, it's a comfortable fit. There shoudl be a way to adjust base as it can sometimes sound too deep. There's some background static too.

I have been using plantronics for the last 7 or so years. My experience has been nothing short of phenomenal. This earpiece however started off well with no issues. After a couple of weeks I started hearing static on the line during my phones which became progressively unbearable. Other than that it's a good product with could be better especially at that price point

    Voyager Pro+ is much better

I bought this believing Plantronics would've increased quality since the Voyager Pro+ but nothing matches the clarity of the Voyager Pro+. Range is good but the audio readouts have static and everyone said my voice drops out even though it doesn't sound like it through the headset. Go online and look for the Voyager Pro+. They're discontinued but you can still get them new. I bought 10 on a popular auction site so I should be ok for a while. Since you can get the Voyager Pro+ I wouldn't recommend the newer Plantronics models, but Plantronics doesn't support the Voyager Pro+ so there's no way to get any firmware upgrades.

I received one of the very early 5220's produced. There were problems with static only on incoming voice. This issue was resolved by the MANUFACTURER, who was wonderful. They replaced it with a 5200, the same unit (the 20 just designates Best Buy as seller). The replacement works well and noise reduction is reported to be outstanding. Great job by Plantronics. Unfortunately, retailer was not so great and refused to transfer the extended warranty that was purchased.
