The Plantronics edge us a great bluetooth. It has most features people yearn for in a earpiece. My thoughts....
Pro: headset like the legend has great audio and better audio pickup than the previous model.
HD audio makes it sound similar to my higher end bluetooth or cabled headphones. Battery life is rather short but the pod is nifty should you want to use it. Can be a hassle at times to carry but gets the job done. And better yet it seems to charge my bluetooth at least 1.5 times.
Cons: this bluetooth has a major drawback. Plastic clip and horrid ear gels. I've kept away from this style because of the clips eating away at my ear like a blood suckling parasite. You tend to get sore after a few hours of wearing it. The ear gels don't hold the Bluetooth in my ear or I just simply don't get the concept of how these work with the hoop on the back side.
Conclusion: I would love to see options from Plantronics to channel audio into my ear canal and seal exterior sounds. And a better ear clip of a higher grade, one that's rubber or foam padded even.
Having the micro USB on the headset with the proprietary pod connectors gives me useful ways to charge my bluetooth givin' the scenario. I would rather pay another 5 bucks for a good ear clip and different style of ear gel like I had on my old plug 2.5mm Jabra headset. I give this a honest rating of 4.5 of 5. Ditch the plastic clip design and horrid ear gels that have hoops. Then I would have 2 or 3 of these.
Attached is photos of the style of gels and clips I'm referring they should include or sell.

I've been meaning to review this headset for months now since I've had this bluetooth headset for almost a year. It was not the first one I purchased, but I returned the others and I am so glad I didn't settle for anything less. This headset is practically perfect and I use it all the time. The sound is incredibly clear as the listener and my family and friends say the sound on the other end is very loud, crisp and clear. It is pretty much hands-free which I needed when I bought it because I had a job that involved water and I didn't want to have to touch the headset to answer a call with wet hands. This headset announces the call and the name of the caller. It will say "Call from Rick Smith, answer or ignore?" Then, you can either tap the headset to answer or you can respond with your voice saying either "answer" or "ignore". Then the headset tells you, "answering call", etc, all completely hands-free!
You can press and hold the headset button to activate your S-voice or Siri system on whatever phone you have and give your phone a command without having to take your phone out of your pocket.
I also use this headset to listen to music or an audio book when I am walking my dog, traveling or doing housework. I leave my phone on the kitchen counter because it has a pretty far connection range which really helps around the house.
Some of the others that I initially purchased either had low volume or weren't this hands-free or were too complicated to use. I can even wear it unnoticeably if I want to, because my hair covers it.
This headset is really incredible in every way. It comes with a clear snap-on ear hook or loop to go over your ear and can be snapped on to use it on either ear. It is pretty good staying in my ear without the hook, but will fall out every now and then, so I use it with the clear hook. It also comes with different size earbud covers with the little loopy thing to fit different size ears. But with the hook, it never falls off now, and I definitely didn't want to lose my headset or have it fall into a bucket of water. I also tweaked the hook because the angle that it was when it came out of the box hurt the back of my ear, even after only a few minutes. So, I took the hook off the headset and bent it (see picture) while running the curved part under my instant hot (boiling) water faucet. I kept it bent while it cooled and then ran it under cold water to harden it. The angle really changed the fit. It no longer hurts and, to be honest, sometimes I don't even realize I am wearing it, so I have to feel if it is on. This is pretty awesome and a great fix to an annoying issue. If the ear hook hurts your ear, give this a try. So, all in all, this was well worth the price and it is easy to use. It also comes with a case that can be charged and, therefore, can recharge the headset on the go. There is also an app to download on your phone to adjust settings. What more could anyone want? I love this item and I know that it is great quality because I have been using it for almost a year with no problems. I also use it instead of the bluetooth in my car. Definitely a great purchase. Go for it, you won't regret it.

Excellent BT Headset - Perfect upgrade from an M90

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I had a Plantonics M90 BT headset which I used daily for about a year. No complaints with it except occasionally the person I was speaking with would have trouble hearing me. This was usually due to wind or some other background noise.
I like my BT small and don't like to use an ear loop. The Edge and M90 both use the same rubber gel ear insert with the option to clip on a thin, clear ear loop for added stability so it won't fall off (when you're doing something like running). I never use the ear loop and the Edge has no problem staying put regardless of its larger size. Don't get me wrong, it's not large at all and sometimes I even forget I have it in all day! The Edge is a bit larger than my old M90, but the sound & voice quality of both the BT speaker and my voice on the other end is phenomenal! I never hear that I can't be heard and I never have trouble hearing them.
The battery life of the Edge is shorter than the 11 hour 'talk time' battery life of the M90 by 5 hours with a total 'talk time' battery life of 6 hours.
HOWEVER, (and now for the cool part) the Edge comes with an awesome little protecting dock that doubles as a mobile charger. With the charge you can carry in your pocket plus the charge of the BT itself, you'll be able to get 16 hours of 'talk time' before you have to plug it in! The dock and the BT headset can both be charged using a standard MicroUSB cable and charges to 100% in no time at all. When the headset is docked the dock's mobile battery will charge the Edge and display the current charge level of the dock & the headset with little pinpoint LEDs. If the dock is plugged in while the Edge is connected the LEDs will light up and show the current power levels and first finish charging the headset, then charge itself.
Basically, you get this cool little case you're Edge snaps into that keeps it safe and charges the battery when it's in your pocket or on your desk. You'll never run out of battery in a day. I use mine all day every day and have never run out of juice!
There are MANY other features, but for the sake of not writing a full novel I'll only touch on a few of the ones which have really impressed me.
First, it can connect to multiple sources simultaneously. I have to connected to my iPad, iPhone, and PC. It will notify you (it's a female voice that speaks to you) which device it's connected to and when you go out of range of a connected device. It makes it very easy to use multiple devices without hassling with pairing & impairing all the time.
Another really cool feature is the on ear/off ear detection. So for example, you have your headset on your desk and your phone rings - you pick up the BT and put it in your ear with the phone still ringing. The Edge will know you just put it in your ear and announce who is calling by and and ask you if you would like to 'answer' or 'ignore'. Cool right? It also knows not to ring the headset if it's not in your ear so you don't have to mess up the beginning of a call switching audio sources while your caller is waiting.
Go to the Plantronics or Best Buy website or just stop at a Best Buy and check it out. There are a ton of other little things it does, but I'll leave something to suprise! If you want an awesome Bluetooth Headset, this is the one you want! I know it's a little pricey, but if you need one, just get it. This is something you could have in your ear all the time and is worth every penny.
Don't buy anything made by Jabra. I stopped using BT headsets for a couple years because I had several Jabra headsets and hated them. I thought all BT headsets were all alike and was done with them! Not until I found an M90 laying in a hallway and tried it did I realize how convenient and fun they can be. There are great BT and really, really terrible BT - this is a great one! Try it! Otherwise Best Buy rocks and you could always return/exchange it anyway, but you won't if you buy the Edge. Thanks for reading!

I didn't know this kind of technology was out there this is one of the best things I've ever bought hands-free calling answer why you keeping both hands on the wheel I can't say enough good about it it is great and if you wear glasses this is the one to get because it didn't interfere with your glasses. I'm using it right now to write this note it's attached to my tablet to my computer and on my smartphone. Beautiful is all I can say.

This headset has good sound quality for both caller, and receiver. On average I get about five hours of talk time on a full charge. The saving grace is that it comes with a case that will provide another one and half recharges to the headset. It takes about 30 min for the case to fully charge the headset. The only draw back is it's not as loud as the Plantronics Voyager Pro. If you are in a noisy environment, or are a little hard of hearing this may not be the best option. I don't listen to music through it , so I can't comment on how good or bad it might be for that use. If it were a bit louder I would have given it five stars. It is also very comfortable to wear for long periods of time.

I've been very pleased with Plantronics headsets in the past. This is my 3rd flavor of Plantronics BT headsets and the best yet in my opinion. It is so comfortable to ware I forget I even have it on. The portable charging base that houses an internal battery that charges the headset is awesome. This keeps the headset lasting many hours longer than my other Plantonics headset. I also like the fact that it doesn't have to have an "over-the-ear" type config as those of us who ware glasses will appreciate. The vocal and audio quality is outstanding. It also does and extremely good job at blocking background noise. The only issue I've had with it is sometimes it cuts out and disconnects from the phone. I believe this has to do with outside interference (like where there are a lot of other Bluetooth devices around). Also at $130 it's a bit on the pricey side. This is why I didn't give it a 5 star rating.

Great bluetooth headset. Call quality is clear and you can adjust the volume from the headset which I love. Earpiece also has voice activated answer or ignore. Love that feature. I really like that you can recharge the headset with the included charging case. Although the available talk time is only 6 hours, you can always just pop it in the recharging case and get a quick charge. (The case is a bit bulky though). You can also download a useful app to keep track of remaining talk time. I sometimes have problems getting the earpiece situated just right in my ear, but once I do, it stays in well, and is relatively comfortable.Only complaint for me is that it is a little on the big side for me but you get used to it.

There are so many nice things about this headset. The case is awesome. The cord for charging is adaptable to car chargers with a usb port. And let's talk about the item itself: super lightweight! I'm fond of the headset earpieces that seem to disappear in feel when you wear them, and that's what this one does. I had tried a lower priced Plantronics headset, but it made my voice (and others), sound like we were taking va the old "two cans with a string connecting them" unit. This one is flawless and has volume controls as well as voice command. I'm so happy I paid extra for this one. You won't be sorry if you add this to your wish list!

While not perfect, the Edge is lightweight, comfortable, and has good sound quality. I have tried many other BT devices, but none had as complete of a package as the Voyager Edge. Battery life is good and the charging case is excellent for travelers and road warriors. Cool tech but can be a little quirky at times.

One of the best bluetooth headsets I've used.
Fits very well.
5 hour battery life. Stays suspended for days.
Comes with portable charger.
Connects with multiple devices.
Auto-answer (it knows when you attach it to ear and it you are receiving call at the time then it'll answer it automatically for you.
Has special attachments for ear piece for better fit.
Light weight.
IMPORTANT Feature if you have Apple Watch: Supports call hand off when call initiated from Apple Watch. I don't know any other bluetooth device which can do this.
Very good quality and excellent noise cancellation. This is my second Voyager Edge since I lost first one.

I purchased the Plantronics Voyager for my wife because she is a Real Estate Agent and lives on the phone in her car. The Bluetooth in her Mercedes went out and it was going to cost nearly $800 to fix it. We first tried 2 different brands and models of the most highly rated clip on the visor and suction to the window type and kept getting everybody tells me I sound like I'm in a cave. So we tried the Voyager after much hesitation that she would wear an earpiece. Well she loves it. It's comfortable, clear, easy to use, has great volume and best of all for a Woman like I said lives on the phone, the battery lasts all day.

I think I've had almost every BT headset ever made. Seriously, I have a graveyard of them in a desk drawer. I haven't found the perfect one yet, or even one that makes me stop looking for a better one. This replaced my Voyager Legend.
I think the sound quality on both ends is better than the Legend. This item is also much smaller and lighter than the Legend. Controls are easy to use and the voice prompts are helpful, not annoying. The Legend fits more comfortably, because it doesn't rely on an in-ear support... it goes over the top of the ear. This headset is in-ear.
A few items to improve on for the inevitable Voyager Edge 2:
1. More battery life is always better. The battery "dock" that comes with this item is too big for a pocket so I don't carry it around.
2. The ear gels are still not as comfortable as the ones Bose uses. I'd really like softer and better shaped ear gels.
3. The My Headset firmware updater doesn't recognize this headset. Considering how many firmware updates there were for the Voyager Legend, I'm assuming there will need to be some for this headset as well.
4. It would be really nice if they had an app that could update the headset, allow you to change settings, etc. from the app. They have this for the BackBeat Fit headset, but not this one. Also, their other app doesn't support any recent headsets. Seriously, everything has an app now... time to get with the program, Plantronics.
Overall, this is probably the best BT headset on the market right now. With a few improvements, it would be great.

I use my headset for work all day every day and this one definitely has good battery life. The voice clarity is great on both ends, the HD voice works flawlessly and is super clear. The ear bit that comes doesn't fit my ear properly so I have to use the clip to attach it to my ear, which can make it a bit uncomfortable after 5 hours if wear - but my ear is a bit weird so don't let that prevent you from making your decision. The voice commands work smoothly with my android Google device. The turn by turn directions on command from the headset work great, I've had no issues with it.
My biggest pet peeve and problem with this device. It says when you take it off your ear it auto pauses music or switches your call from headset to your handset... But the sensor has a major glitch sometimes. It's not on all devices but you could incur this problem. I bought it and had to exchange it for a different one. My first one would randomly switch my call in the middle of a call to the headset without any reason to and sometimes when I took off my headset would not switch it to the headset. I updated my firmware and it did nothing so I exchanged my device and was told I had a faulty sensor. I got my new one and it did the same thing so I updated my firmware and it fixed the problem this time. I'm at 20 days on this device on the new firmware and so far I have not encountered that problem yet. I have heard of a few people who had this issue so be aware when you decide on your purchase.
Other than that, I do recommend this device as it works great. Make sure to update the firmware though!!

So I've had the jawbones since they came out with the big jawbone 1.0 then the icon and then the era. I use them mainly while driving or generally noisy environments and the jawbones have been excellent. They're only down side is the fact that they need to be in contact with your jaw and long use can wear on your ear. Under normal conditions the sound quality from the plantronics headset is far better, however in specifically windy situations jawbone still has an edge in noise canceling tech. Also, since jawbone doesn't have the boom style mic I'm less worries that I'll snap the boom compared to my plantronics. I do however generally reach for my plantronics over the jawbone for all the additional features it offers like auto answer, built in unlimited caller announce and even the fact that I can see battery life right away without having to put it on. The charge case is also very handy! Not only for transport but to give you that 16hrs or talk time and you don't have to plug in your headset and can just leave the case plugged in as needed. Overall I only took 1 star off for the noise canceling but if I could do half stars I would give it back 0.5 because it is more comfortable to use than the jawbones.

This headset is definitely the best one that I've purchased and I would recommend it to anyone looking to get a bluetooth headset. It's not the cheapest, but that price comes with some excellent noise canceling that my others couldn't touch. The battery is fine, the additional charger case is nice (but you can't store the headset in it for charging with the ear hook attached), and the size is great.
So why only 4 stars? The actual piece that goes in the ear is too large to comfortably fit in my ear and there's no option to step down. It comes with 3 different sizes and they are all too large for me. I don't know if I have unusually small ears or if it has to be at least this big for some reason, but after a couple of hours it starts to hurt. Nothing unbearable or deal breaking, just uncomfortable.
