This filter works pretty well! I recently just used it while filming outside on a sunny, snowy day. Instead of typical lens glares, I got some really nice rainbow-type colors that I thought made an otherwise colorless shot really colorful. I am attaching a screenshot of it so you can see what I mean. Definitely recommend buying!

It does what is it supposed to do. Protect your expensive lens. I have noticed some minor contrast/darkness however it does not affect the quality of the shot. I am pleased with the purchase.

I've had a couple other Platinum filters which have worked out fine. This one, however, got a chip in it after a few months of use. I've never had this happen with any other filter, so I have to wonder if the quality is an issue in either materials or manufacture. I guess it's good that it protected the lens fom potential damage, but still...

46 MM UV lense protector fix exactly as if you do not have this the internals of the moving steady cam device will really muck up easily. Also got a 46 MM lense cap to support protection of the UV lense.

They're a good balance between cost and quality. I definitely recommend this over more expensive UV filters if you're using it primarily to protect your lens' front element. I use this filter to protect the lens on my Sony Handycam CX675

Bought this mainly to protect the objective lens of my Panasonic 25mm f1.7 lens. I seldom need to actually filter UV, but that does no harm under most circumstances and it keeps the front lens clean and safe.

My camera fell. The frame surrounding the UV lens protected the camera exterior from cracking as well as preventing sand from entering the inner lens.
The UV lens cracked on impact, but thanks to this product, I was only out of a $10 lens protector, instead of a pricy camera

I always buy a new Platinum UV filter when I get a new lens. They're cheap protection for the front element and I've never had problems with color cast or other distortions.

I bought this filter for my Sony HDR CX675 to protect the fine lens from dust, dirt and extraneous light from effecting the quality of my recording.
