I bought this with a new prime lens to ensure that my lens would be protected. However, since my purchase I have used various UV filters. This is a good filter, but I have noticed some flare within my photos while shooting in certain lighting. Overall, the filter is durable and I like that its strong glass, instead of paper thin plastic like some other filters feel.

Always a good idea to put a UV filter on your lens to help protect from damage to your lens. The US filter will have the least all around impact on your pictures, still providing that great look without altering the image.

I was pleasantly surprised at this filter. It was purchased with a Canon 85mm F/1.8 prime lens to act as a protector for the lens. It is far slimmer than UV filters from other manufacturers in the same price range. Functions well and is not obtrusive.

I am completely satisfied with this platinum 58mm lens filter. I always buy one of these filters to protect my lenses, and this filter satisfied my requirements while not costing a great deal of money. Well made and attached to the lens easily.

This UV Filter works fine. Purchased while my lenses were new, it keeps fingerprints and dust of the optic entirely. No noticeable image degradation and definite piece of mind for protecting the lens.

I use the 58mm filter on my Nikon 50mm f 1.8G lens. This is a store brand filter but still works great for protecting your lens's glass. I love the value and the quality is nearly as good as the Hoya filters I have.

To protect your camera lens. I have a small grand daughter who is fascinated with my camera and dropped it once. My lens was protected and all I needed to do was to replace this lens filter.

I remember when stuff like this used to be hard to find, had to go to specialty shops. If you only have one filter at least use this one. Though technically UV isn't a problem with Digital Cameras since they don't have film. It's just good practice to at least use a UV filter.

I went to Best Buy to get a polarizer. However, a rep talked me out of it and said he recommends the UV filter. I’ve got it, but returned it for the kit instead. That kit had a ND filter, polarizer, and a uv filter
