I’m a travel vlogger and needed a clear cover to protect the lens on my camera from debris or scratches. This gets the job done and doesn’t cause any distortion or glare in my footage/photos. Definitely a must have and is priced really well too. I got this for my Sigma 16mm f1.4 - Sony E-mount.

I bought this w/ the new Nikon P950 superzoom camera. It's affordable protection, and screwed on flawlessly. Gotta protect that 2000mm lens!

I had purchased one of these several years when I bought my new camera. I have always used lens filters on every lens that I have ever owned. Recently while taking photos for my granddaughter's yearbook, I dropped my camera on the pavement. I landed right on the corner of the lens cover. I was shocked as I had never done that before. To my surprise the only thing that was damaged was the lens filter. It was cracked all the way across and the point of impact was dented. I am very glad I only damaged the filter and not the lens.

I've seen a lot of mixed reviews about this piece. This review is based on my usage of the piece with my Canon70D and 28-135mm lens:
I purchased the 72mm piece to go on the lens I use the most, my wide angle 28-135mm IS lens from Canon. I always have the lens cap on when I'm not using my lens and when I'm using it, I always have the petal on it. This filter screws perfectly on the lens. In addition to the filter I can also use my petal and the lens cap if needed!! Big plus!
I haven't noticed any "ghosting" effects like some users have reported. I've taken photos in the early morning, mid-day, and at dusk. Still no ghosting effects when using the filter.
The filter is solid and has some weight to it. I feel as though its of high quality. The weight of the glass has no impact on shooting.
You can't beat the price for the quality you get!

Lens Filters Protect The Camera Lens

The Platinum 67 mm UV Lens Filter protects the camera lens from getting scratched or damaged otherwise. The reason I purchased this lens filter is that I was in an automobile accident and the original lens filter was cracked, but protected my lens. The damage would have been much more expensive if I had to replace the camera lens.

Works as advertised. It would be nice if there was room for the lens cover cap to fit on while this filter is attached, but it’s not really that big of a deal. I used it while photographing a large waterfall in Alaska…mist everywhere…it kept the lens in good condition.

Excellent Diffusion-Great Packaging

The Platinum-67 mm UV Filter has excellent diffusion and great packaging. This filter prevents UV rays from casting a bluish tint to digital photos. "Platinum" in the packaging is a catch phrase; I doubt that there is any platinum in the frame or coating. Nonetheless, when this filter is not attached to a lens, the plastic, filter case, which has a great, rounded, design with Styrofoam padding on the inside, will adequately protect the filter.

What can you say about a UV filter. It seems well made, nice and clear, coated glass, and a nicely machined ring. A UV filter is not as much of a necessity now with digital as it was with film photography but it will protect the top element of your expensive lens from scratches, finger prints, dust, and whatever else the world throws at it. I would rather replace an inexpensive filter than repair or replace my lens.

This is an excellent UV lens filter at a reasonable price. This is the second one I have had on this camera. The first one shattered when the camera bag feel off a luggage cart. Not only did it protect a very expensive Nikon lens, it did not leave any glass fragments on the Nikon lens that could have caused significant scratching. All my Nikon lenses now have this UV lens filter...highly recommended!

Good filter for typical lenses.

While there are uv and clear filters that cost hundreds of dollars, there is no need for them on typical lenses. I use this on a Tamron 18-300mm lens, and it is perfectly acceptable for the quality of the lens and its optical properties. If I were running a lens triple the cost, with infinitely better optics, I would use an expensive boutique filter, but this Best Buy store brand filter is excellent for the price.

It is very difficult to review something which you hope is going to be invisible.
However in the case of this filter, that's exactly how it is, invisible.
Optically it seems very good, there was certainly no evidence of the optics upsetting the quality of pictures.
I bought this lens along with a Canon EF-70-300 lens, which means that the pictures were being subjected to even greater scrutiny than normal and I have to say that I was very pleased with the results.

After losing one lens cap after another, I decided I needed to stop supporting the lens cap companies and place a filter over my lens to protect those optics. It has been exactly what was needed and so far...no scratches! I do have to look at my exposures with a bit more care, as sometimes I get flare from the sun, but other than that, it's worked out well.

A must have to protect your lens and keep it clean

I have always put a UV filter on my lenses as soon as I buy them, mostly for protection. If you scratch this, you can get another new UV filter, rather than having to buy a new lense. I purchased a new 18-300mm DX VR lens, and bought this in-store to protect it right away.

My last filter broke when I dropped my camera. If I did not have the filter on, the lens would have cracked. Everyone should have a UV lens filter on. This on screwed on tight and has no visible effect on the picture quality. The UV feature does help keep the picture from becoming "cloudy" due to excessive uv light entering the camera. Works great on digital and film cameras ( I have both).

When the Nikon representatives Christina and Katie suggested this, I didn't think I needed it, but I bought it anyway. Taking my new 7200 DSLR out to a photo shoot, as I put my camera around my neck, the camera brushed up against a wall...I let out a silent scream... looked at my camera thinking I scratched my $350 lens...what a relief to know it scratched the lens filter. Thank you Christina and Katie for your highly recommended suggestion.

I bought these filters to protect my lens from dirt and scratches. I was worried about the quality of photos using a lower priced filter, but the photos taken with this filter still look very good. I've had no issues with using these filters with my high end canon lenses.

UV Lens Filter

Bought this UV Lens Filter primarily to save my 18-300mm Nikon lens in case I drop the camera or falls somehow. I like the UV Lens because it doesn't change the settings much vs a Polarizer Filter. Both are good filters for what they are made for but for everyday use, I go with the UV Filter. All this is for when I take photos on automatic vs manual setting.

I love this lens very much this is not just a lens but a protector too which I fell in love about. Takes pictures as it is. I love my 80D camera and protecting the lens is a must have. Good thing for this filter is you can just leave it on to the original lens for more protection and if you decide to put another lens you can just screw it in on the top and you’re good to go.

I’m vey happy with this filter. I have a Canon R6 Mark 2 and protecting the camera lens is of utmost importance! Does not adversely affect picture clarity which us always a concern
