    Protects my glass

I have read a lot about using UV filters as just protectors for you glass and have come to the conclusion they aren't necessary for me because I take really great care of my lenses on and off the camera. However, I use this filter as a protector during transport and when using in dirty/rocky/heavily forested areas.

I use this as protection for my Sony FE 20mm f/1.8 lens. At first I was concerned it might affect my astrophotography. But once I started processing my photos, I forgot I even had the Platinum 67mm UV filter on. My Milky Way images look great.

I bought the UV lens filter to protect the lens of our 80d Canon and I was so glad I did! One of my staff members accidentally bumped into a table with the camera and it cracked the UV filter but saved our main lens. I definitely recommend buying a UV lens filter for every lens!

Fits my Nikon lens perfectly to protect it from getting scratched, dirty, etc. and does not change the clarity or color of my photos. It’s an inexpensive piece of equipment to protect a pricey investment. Well worth the money! I have more time to take photos now because I don’t have to keep putting on/taking off a lens cap.

    Good added protection

Purchased this lens as a basic lens protector. I do a lot of sports or wildlife photography in dusty places and frequently lay my camera on the ground. It basically gives me added protection to my expensive lens. I don't notice much difference in picture quality w the filter being either on or off. When I want to add my polarized filter during bright sunny days, I first remove the UV Filter otherwise doubling up the filters could cause unintended distortion and reduced picture quality.

If you have a good lens you NEED to have a UV Filter on the front. Not only does it keep the lens clean, it cuts down on haze in your images, AND if (when) you drop the camera, the filter will 9 times out of 10 take the brunt of the hit and save the lens.

A good quality UV filter for the price. It fits right and is easy to use if you know how to take advantage of the filtering. Works well keeping dust and water drops off of the lens.

This product was recommended to me as a great way to protect my camera's lens and I am definitely glad I got it! We have accidentally bumped the end of the camera lens a few times and it is great knowing I would only have to spend a few dollars to replace the filter instead of having to replace the entire lens. And the picture quality is still awesome!

Love this! I had this on my camera lense while taking photos on a tripod. When a gust of wind knocked over my tripod and cracking my lense, this protected it and keep the actual lense in tacked.

I buy these for all of my lenses to protect them from scratches, dust, and fingerprints. I don't see a difference in my shots either (that's a good thing). I would highly recommend it. One scratch could ruin the images you capture. Fingerprint oils can also damage your lens. Ultimately, it is a very small price to pay to protect your investment.

For the price, a very good thin filter

A very good UV filter that I would use but might not consider carefully if keeping your lens hood on solidly is important. Yes, it stays, but this is a thin filter which may be important to you. For that purpose, it is a 5 out of 5. It is not a B+W filter, but that German engineering and manufacturing comes at a cost. This is a great and cheaper alternative. I’d recommend this one well above the very cheap filters.

High-Quality UV Filter - Does the Job

I need to play catch-up on my filters. I just started purchasing them with each new Canon lens that I buy and now I really need to back track and buy filters for my prior Canon lens purchases. Not only does the lens filter out the UV rays so your pictures will look amazing but it also protects your lens as you already know.

I bought a Nikon 85 mm portrait lens online but didn't buy a filter. I tend to use a filter to protect the lens glass futuremore the UV filter tends to remove unwanted glare. Don't skimp on the filter, if you speed 500 bucks on a lens expect to speed about a tenth of that on a quality filter

    Camera UV filter

A UV filter isn't a necessary item on a digital camera. UV filters are designed more for use on film cameras. I purchased this to give a little more protection for my camera lens. I would rather have purchased a polarizer but the store was temporarily out of stock. The polarizer would have been more useful and would also have given the camera lens the added protection I wanted.

UV filter works in two ways

My UV filter works as a filter and a lens protector. It does cut down on glare but if you have fingerprints on it, it Will show as glare. Before I had this UV filter I kept my cap off. Even though I should always use it, I sometimes forget and there is a extra layer of protection.

I will not use a camera lens without it being protected. This was at a good price and I have used other filters in this line with no issues. It is a UV filter but again my main goal is protecting a much more expensive lens.
