This was a replacement for another UV filter, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much thinner it is than my original! This is particularly useful since it's on a wide-angle zoom lens.

Purchased a Canon EF lens and needed a UV filter. My store had this size available , at a great price. Quality build for the price. Will check Best Buy now versus my local camera store

It will protect the glass and front of your lens from some minor damages for sure, but it's obviously not a life-saver. I would not advise using these to cover your lens during actual shooting, but to protect it between shooting, when you're not going to use any other more time-consuming means of protection.

It's a good insurance policy for your lens. It protects the lens from dust, scratches, and other damage during use. I never use the camera without a filter attached.

Must have for photography. If you don't have one you're not protecting your lens. My hubs dropped his new $900 lens. Fortunately he had a UV filter that protected the lens. He need a new filter, but beats buying a new lens.
