    EXTREME sharpness killer

I must say that the polarizing effects of this filter work phenomenally, and as far as I can tell there is no color distortion. However, tested on my Sony 70-200 f/2.8 GM, sharpness was drastically reduced. At 70 it's not bad at all, but anything past 135, and especially all the way at 200, and the sharpness goes away, creating an almost mirage-like effect around everything. The only way I was able to get the image relatively sharp was at f/10 or so. As I said however, it was seemingly okay at 70, so if you're using one of these on a prime around or below that focal lenght then this might be more viable to you. I guess it's true what they say, if you're gonna buy expensive sharp glass then you've got to shell out the money for good filters too.

    Trades color for clarity

Purchased this along side my 6Dmk2 with the intent of cutting down glare on water and reflective surfaces. I've tested this with both the Canon 24-105 f/4L IS II USM, and the Tamron SP 70-200 f/2.8 Di VC USD G2. In both instances, the filter was able to color correct the sky and produce a more vivid blue, but traded it for a steep drop in sharpness. When using the filter, less than 10% of the images shot were clear enough for use of any kind. I couldn't say whether it's autofocus or something else being thrown off, but every image appears as if it's both out of focus, and/or shot at low shutter speed, despite being shot at up to 1/1250. Will continue to test for a day or two, but this may ultimately go back as a return.

I do a lot of outdoor photography, I live in Florida, and in the summer when the temperature runs in the high nineties, the blue sky becomes white. Casual observers see a blue sky, but if one takes a really good look at it, it is white with a light blue hue. To correct nature, I use a polarized filter that I can rotate to get the depth, or lack of depth, of color. This filter I bought at Best Buy is fantastic and does what it is supposed to do. Can you say more for a product?

I recently bought a 70-200 mm 2.8L and I thought all polorizers were created equal but boy was I wrong. I was shooting and noticed that when using this polorizer that the images were blurry and unclear. I decided to do a side by side comparison of a polorized shot vs raw lens shot and the differences were amazing. Left image is clear and crisp but ruined by reflections - right image the polorizer has done its job but distorts the image.

I bought this to put on my 70-200 f/2.8, I initially thought that maybe with it being somewhat decently reviewed on here, that it'd be nice, but man, I was wrong. This filter is your average, run of the mill cheap CPL. Best Buy did a good job at packaging, very minimal, all black, and platinum foil box, but it just throws sharpness WAY off, and I'm not talking "barely," or "a little fuzzy," I'm talking about focus goes out of the bag if you're shooting something specific. I returned this product to the store, and decided to go with an actual Nikon CPL.

This is my first CP, and as a beginner, I think it checks all the boxes. Took it to Colorado for a trip, and drastically changed my photos, for the better!! Made the sky bluer, cut reflections on water, and made colors in general pop! I compared my photos to a buddy’s photos on the trip who didn’t have a CP. Can tell a major difference. It does everything a CP is supposed to do, for a fraction of the price of the higher end models.

I use this filter everyday. I work on the beach almost everyday and have to use my shirt to wipe salt spray off of it non stop. At ~$50, I don't mind using it in the elements, where I might not want to take a B&W or other filter that costs 3-4x as much! Also, the reality is that most people would be lying if they said they could tell the difference between this and a top end filter.

Bought this product to use on my lenses for car photography. A polarizing filter is essential for removing glare. Sadly this polarizer does a terrible job. It hardly has any effect on glare no matter which direction it’s spun in. Don’t waste your money on this. Pay a few more dollars for a quality polarizer from a reputable company.

When purchasing this filter I thought I'd make a huge change in how my photos came out, and boy huge change did I get. It really reduced the sharpness in my photos and it also took away some light from entering my lens which had me have to go to higher ISOs. Its pretty common sense that thats what a circular polarizer would do but I didn't think I'd be that much.

Essential for protecting the glass on those expensive camera lenses. I recently bought a 70-200mm Nikon long distance zoom lens and got this to protect the front element. Doesn't distort the image and haven't had any issues that others might have noted (threading, etc.). So far, so good plus the price is right.

I had just purchased a brand new 70 to 200 millimeter lens and was in desperate need for a 77 millimeter polarizing filter in order to capture sunset images for upcoming photo shoots. I was at first taken aback by the higher price tag, but was so happy with the results and quality of my image in the end :-)

I was going to the Ocean and needed a Polarizer to keep the glare from the water away. By the time I realized I needed one It was to late to order higher end glass. The price is a bit high in my opinion for the brand that it is but it did do a wonderful job.

I am hard on equipment and I'm working on the beach all the time... For ~$50 this thing is 98% as good as the best filters at a fraction of the cost. I have to deal with ocean spray, rain, etc... I clean my stuff with my shirt! Not good to do with a $250 filter, but for $50, I can deal with it!

I have an old Nikon D60. I admit is old, but it is my workhorse and takes beautiful photos, especially during my latest excursion to the Galapagos. I tried out this filter for water shots and took some experimental photos. Unfortunately, it messed with the camera's ability to focus. It's going back.

I purchased a new lens and always have a filter on the lens not only for protection but need the polarizer filter to get a true picture in bright sun light. This filter was priced at a good price compared to a more noted name brand and am very pleased with the results.

As a polarizer it gets a lot of glare out of shots. However, as a lower-end polarizer it does what it's really supposed to do: protect your expensive glass. I purchased this to protect the lens on a Sony 24-105 and it does the job nicely.

This lense gives me the span of depth I was looking for to capture wide angle shots. Coupled with my 6ti body it consistently returns solid shots. Only downside was the difficulty in attaching a filter, it seemed to have a poor design to screw it to the lense.

My last premium lens filter broke, so I had to purchase another one. These filters are nearly impossible to get off! That is the only downfall. I had to pay someone to take it off without ruining my lens. It did protect my lens from damage though!

This is a great quality for the cost polarizing filter. It provides enough filter to remove glass and water refractions; allowing for protection yet true to color filtering on my long hikes. The multi coat stands up well and is surviving the rough handling.

I use this filter for two reasons. To protect my lens' front element. And to darken the blues and greens, and remove glare, when shooting outdoors. It does both well. And there doesn't appear to be any image quality loss when using this filter.
