This lens cover is typically purchased by those who think it's going to protect the lens like I did at the time. Yes, it will keep you from touching the actual lens, but it's not going to help protect from an accidental camera drop. I never noticed a difference with/without a UV filter. I do get a polarizer filter and that obviously makes a huge difference. I suggest using a lens guard that comes with your camera and to keep a cleaning kit in your camera bag in-case the kids touch the lens - haha. I had dropped my camera from about 2 feet and it hit the filter, shattering it, and while the lens was fine, the camera and lens were both deemed non-repairable by the folks who service the Geek Squad Protection Plan for Nikon Cameras. So, the lens filter did nothing for me. But if you have kids or a tendency to touch the lens then this filter may be for you.

Makes your photos look great, plus it definitely helps protect your camera lens. I took it on a hike and it i would have scratched it on a branch.

I bought this to protect my expensive lenses and that's what it does perfectly. No dust, fingerprints, no sand no dirt between the actual camera lens and filter. If there is any dirt , it will be on the filter glass and you can easily wipe it off.

I was a little skeptical of not buying a big name camera brand product for a filter, however it has proven to be just as good as any other I've owned. No distortion or defects in the glass. A good deal overall. It is just a UV filter so there isn't much that can be that good about it, but there is nothing bad about it. It does what I bought it for (protection) and the glass is flawless. My only complaint is this needed a little cleaning out of the box before I put it on.

The Platinum UV Lens Filter protects the lens from scratches and is money well spent. The lens filter has no affect on the picture taken but can save you the cost of a replacement lens if it gets scratched instead of the lens.

Really helps to protect lens. It's a must for any camera lens you consider an investment. Really provides good protection and is invisible with regard to photo quality. Would highly recommend and if I happen to damage it, I'm quickly getting another.

Had initially bought it to protect my lens but does a good job reducing glare

I have recently heard a man teaching a class say not to by these for protection because the lens cover is enough. This is in correct. I have dropped a lens and had it saved by the lens filter. The lens cover popper off like it wasn’t there. Spend more money for one. That glass will be between your lens and your subject. You don’t want cheap glass to impede your high $ lens.

Purchased with a Canon lens to protect the lens. Went on easily. Works with Canon lens cap.
