Optically clear. Needed as a protector for a 100-400l on my canon. Does the job

Went on a hike without my lens cap on and hit a branch on our way down. I was really glad I had this on there just for the protection purpose of my new lens. I purchased this for my Canon - EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM Telephoto Zoom Lens. I have had no issues that I've noticed with the quality of the photo in any way.

I am not fan of filters, but you always get situations where you just want something to protect that good lens you have. I use UV filters primarily for lens protection, for such moments as taking random day - random pictures of kids, family or especially when on a beach, but when things get to pro, it goes off. This is a very good UV filter and every photographer needs one. Trust me.

I ordinarily don’t use filters on my lenses, but picked this up before a photo shoot planned for a windy day on the beach. It stood up to the salt air and wind-blown sand just fine, and gave me peace of mind that the lens would incur no damage. I didn’t notice any image degradation whatsoever in my photos. Worth every penny!

With missing lens caps all over Europe, I knew my front element was safe! And there is absolutely no distortion in image quality. I LOVE this thing!

Was easy to put on my lens and helped with glaring

The UV filter is great for protecting primary lense from scratches, dust, and sand. Plus like any filter it will produce dark or light picture. If one does not get polarizing filter or a slim wide Fader ND filter UV is highly recomended.

I shoot professionally, and years ago you had to spend big bucks to get a decent UV filter for your lens. "Don't scrimp on the money," the adage went. "Your image will only be as sharp as your worst piece of glass." This filter puts that one to rest for me. No image degradation at all, and at a great price. I highly recommend a UV filter now. Easier to clean the filter than the front element of your lens, the filter avoids the risk of damaging the lens' spectral coating, and if you accidentally drop your lens, better to bend or break the filter than the glass it's protecting.

I put this on my Canon 100-400mm lens and can tell no difference in image quality. When you look through the filter it looks like you're looking through a black metal ring with nothing inside of it - the glass is so perfect that it looks like the air. I like it to prevent dust or surface scratches. Screw on edges fit well, no complaints.

I always keep a UV filter (skylight filter) on every lens, not only to filter the sometimes distorting UV rays but also to protect the expense outer lens. Sometimes filters this size are difficult to find and expensive when you do find them, but this filter was an exception on both counts. It also does an excellent job of filtering AND protecting.

I bought these filters to protect my lens from dirt and scratches. I was worried about the quality of photos using a lower priced filter, but the photos taken with this filter still look very good. I've had no issues with using these filters with my high end canon lenses.
