Nice flash!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok, so it doesn't have all the extras as my Speedlight 430EXIII-RT, but it is quite powerful, and easy to use. I use it as a slave mostly, but it can be used as master as well (optical only unless you buy a radio transmitter/receiver). I've taken it on a few wedding shoots and it performed very nicely on my backup camera (7D). If you are concerned about it's power...DON"T BE! It has plenty. It even recycles pretty quickly if you are using high quality batteries (I use Eneloop Pro's) or an external source. I don't suggest alkaline only because of the recycle time.

I VERY rarely use flash so just can't justify spending much money on one. I was hoping that this would be perfect to have in my bag just in case I needed it. Well, it might have been ok except for the fact that the battery compartment pops open very easily, causing the batteries to all fall out. I shoot primarily newborns and children, so this is a horrible safety hazard in addition to being inconvenient. Save your money for a decently built flash.
