Adds Ethernet capability but not at full speed

But my 200 Mbit/sec ethernet connection is downgraded to only 40 or 50 Mbit/sec when using this adapter on my MacBook Air. It might be faster if you have USB 3.0 but my eight-year-old MacBook Air only has USB 2.0.
