I bought 2 of these and tested them extensively., This adapter seems to work Ok but ONLY for a SINGLE USB DEVICE to convert it to a USB-C (also Thunderbolt 3/4) connection on a MacBook or Mac computer. I suspect it can only deliver a certain amount of current (power) to the device, so your results may vary, Your USB device might need more power than this little adapter can reliably carry. Some USB-C ports on some computers work differently. This is my experience on two Apple MacBook Pros, one running Big Sur and one running Monterey Mac OS. In detailed testing with two different USB Hubs (one Insignia and one J5create) each connected using this adapter, this adapter proved to be extremely unreliable with a MacBook Pro where the USB hub was hosting a single USB mouse AND a single 64GB USB 3.0 flash drive at the same time. Sometimes the flash drive would connect at USB 2.0 (slow) speed and sometimes it would connect at USB 3.0 speed. Regardless, actually using the hard drive showed that the connection was highly unreliable. Within 5-20 seconds, the connection to the flash drive would be lost. It might reconnect or might not until being physically reconnected and the cycle would repeat. It was clearly not reliable for use to read or transfer files. In contrast, replacing this adapter with another adapter that is actually certified for 15 watts of power and USB 3 "SuperSpeed" (according to its package) made by another manufacturer made the flash drive and the USB hub completely reliable with everything else being the same. This experiment was repeated a few times. Basically there are speed and power issues. This adapter likely can only carry a certain amount of power which may be less than you need. Or it could be an issue with the way it is wired internally that becomes an issue with a MacBook Pro port when using a hub to connect multiple devices. The MacBook Pro USB-C port is actually a Thunderbolt port which is supposed to be backward compatible with USB-C. Either way, it is not reliable in my opinion unless limited to a single low power USB device. You might think it's just an adapter, what could go wrong? Apparently there is more to USB-C and MacBook Pro Thunderbolt port connectivity than meets the eye. Hope this helps someone who might be thinking of using this as an adapter to connect a USB hub to a USB-C style Thunderbolt port on a MacBook Pro. It will not reliably connect multiple USB devices at the same time in my opinion and after testing it extensively. In contrast, a similar adapter made by a different manufacturer worked fine and was certified to 15 watts and "superspeed" on its packaging. Hope this helps someone. I was having all kinds of strange issues with my USB devices using USB hubs and this adapter before figuring this out. This is not a bad product, it just needs to be more clearly marked in terms of its power capacity and connectivity. Since it is marketed to Mac users who have Thunderbolt 3/4 ports, it should be more clearly marked and tested as to what those buyera can expect.

Does what I need it for! All that matters! A little long than necessary, but it not a deal breaker.

Needed a USB conversion plug to transfer data from old MacBook to a new one. Worked perfectly.

This is a nice way to connect USB to your Mac book pro. Not nearly as bulky as a lot of adapters.

Had to buy one of these because I recently got the new Google Pixel 6 and the adapter that came in the box was bent and wouldn't work. Not Best Buy's fault though because I didn't buy it from here; I bought the adapter here because they thankfully had one that could replace that broken one. I'm still giving only 3 stars though because there isn't much use for it after I transferred my data.

Does what’s it supposed to do. Goes from USB to USC connection. Unit is small not noticeable. Recommended to buy.

Since I prefer to use a mouse, this item was necessary for my new MacBook Air. I wish it wasn’t necessary!

The adapter does as described. I wish the cord was slightly longer. Overall a good buy.
