Customers are saying
Customers express satisfaction with the PlayStation 4's impressive graphics, enjoyable controller, and ease of use. Many also praise its performance and find it to be a good value for the price. However, some customers point out the lack of backwards compatibility with previous PlayStation consoles and disappointingly short battery life of the controller. The absence of a bundled camera was also noted as a drawback by some users.

Excellent value for the tech
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned the system for approximately 30 days now and could not be happier. Sony did a great job making a system that was powerful and relatively inexpensive. A good value overall.

love it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PlayStation 4 serves up dazzling graphics, runs on a simplified and logical interface and boasts a fantastic controller. It has the upper hand on indie and digital-only games and can stream legacy titles via PlayStation Now, too. The PS4 makes it super-easy to capture and broadcast gameplay online and generally delivers zippier performance than its direct competition. And it doubles as a Blu-ray player and solid streaming box.

Sony PS4
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony has improved over the design of the PS3 prompting a sleek design, increased user functionality, and the ability to play & watch you're Blu-ray and DVD movies. The one downside to the PS4 is the fact that it has a 500GB hard drive in it. Eventually once you start to build up your library you will find yourself running out of space. Overall it is a great product despite it's limited library of games available.

PS4 Moves gaming to the next Generation
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the PS4, it has a lot of new features to offer. The new touch pad is a nice feature but not a main selling point. The speed and responsiveness of the games are amazing. The 3D gaming is impressive, played some CoD Ghosts in 3D and it was very cool. Disappointed to now have to pay to get online but so long as there isn't a security issue like there was circa summer 2011, then I am happy to pay a couple of extra $$'s. There are a lot of new features with the PS4 and still discovering them all.

8th generation is good to go
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Minimal waste involved in packaging and exceptionally straight forward initial setup make for a stress free first day. As with all new consoles the software library is still quite sparse, but if there is any one game you're interested in (your "killer app") I would encourage you to take the plunge - the raw graphical output power of the unit is quite impressive. The Dualshock 4 controller ergonomics are a vast improvement over the 3, though be prepared for stubborn muscle memory reaching for the old position of the Start (now 'Options') button. Playstation Plus and Playstation Now as services are both exceptional values.

Next generation exquisiteness
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As an avid gamer and Sony fan, this new system was lacking titles at first. This is why I waited till now to purchase it. It was well worth the wait as the graphics and interface are perfect (I have a Sony bravia). It's smooth layout and ease of use are key for first time buyers who are switching from Xbox or are new to gaming.

Great gaming console
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS4 is an amazing console, cheaper than the XBOX One and gives you more free apps to use. I highly recommend getting a one year PS+ superscription specially if you find it for a discount in some store. I regret buying the camera so early, because there aren't many games that uses it. When it comes to better quality, yes it's way much better and faster than the PS3. Simply this gaming console is the best right now

Really like the improvements
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS4's OS is much improved over the PS3. The PS4 Dualshock controllers are wider than the PS3 controllers, and surprisingly feel pretty good. The triggers feel a lot nicer too. The touchpad is pretty nice, but I haven't found a use for it yet. The HDMI port does not output enough power for you to use a passive HDMI switch. In fact, I had a hard time getting the PS4 to work properly with two HDMI switches that I tried. I had no problems getting my PS3 and Sony-branded Blu-Ray player to work with the two switches. If I plugged the PS4 directly to my TV or receiver, I had no problems. For whatever reasons, HDMI switches do not want to work with the PS4 properly.

With Ps4, Sony has gotten it's mojo back.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First let me admit, I am a Sony fanboy. I have had just about every console ever made during my lifetime but there's something about Sony that keeps bringing me back. Sony emerged in 1995 with their original Playstation console to battle the then king Nintendo, and came out on top. It continued this reign of supremacy until the Xbox 360 arrived, sadly the outrageous $500-600 price tag of the PS3 was a stumbling block when the system first launced. With the PS4, Sony is fixing it's past mistakes and offering a top of the line next-gen console at friendly $399 price point. The system features a lightning fast UI and many features that really set it apart from it's predecessor. Sony is also courting the indie developers this time around to ensure a very robust selection of games available on the console in the future. I have always been convinced that Sony has the BEST first party developers in the business. As an early adopter there really isn't much choice in the launch titles but starting Spring 2014 some big name titles like Infamous are really going to make the PS4 the console to have. My only real complaint is that Sony followed Microsoft's example and are requiring gamers to pay for an annual subscription (PS+) in order to play games online. At least with Xbox Live the mone seems to go to paying for dedicated servers and overall network stability, so far PSN doesn't seem much better than it's older counterpart. Lastly, as an ower of both the PS4 and Xbox One, I personally recommend the PS4 over the Xbox One.

Best console I've bought since the ps3!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ps4 purchased was perfect , the controller's light up function when playing certain games to differentiate between myself and friends is one of the little details that make up the overall improvements of the console. That along with the improved grip on the sticks, spacing of buttons and earpiece repositioning show that Sony pays attention to detail. The console is a futuristic design of a parallelogram which I found intriguing . The interface of the operating system was smooth and fluent and not only does installing games take far less time than on ps3 but you can actually play the game while it installs. I'm sure that the massive size of the games will force me to upgrade my memory eventually, but with simplicity of doing so it won't be a problem. The only drawbacks I can see are the battery life on the controller, and having to wait for the true potential of the console which really isn't much of a problem.

Best Game Console Available
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS4 is the best game console available. The graphics and processing speed are unmatched and the features are awesome. Games are native 1080p and look great. The ability to link my Facebook account to my PSN and use my Facebook id photo as a PSN avatar is really cool. There is now a section at the homescreen that has an information wall, much like a Facebook wall, that keeps me up to date on what my friends are playing and how they rate games, movies, shows and music. The ability to run multiple applications and go to the Playstation Store from in game or in app, purchase or view other content, then switch right back to the game or app. I was in is a huge improvement over past consoles. One of my favorite features so far is the built in speaker on the controller. It allows certain sound effect to come through the controller rather than the TV and adds new depth to the gaming experience. So far, Sony is just getting started with this console. It's the best machine I have owed for gaming to date and I know that much more is to come from Sony and game developers that will really make the PS4 features shine.

Best gaming plataform
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Comparing in performance with others plataforms PS4 do it better but my only concern is about their network system (on line playing), lately is being opeating with some difficulties and sometimes is crashed. In december happend the lizard squad issue that put down the system for 5 days in my case and I wonder how that happened that a few guys or maybe a couple can hack a huge company plataform for many days. The other concern is that you can not play your old PS3 games what makes no sense at all. Some info has been leaked that in future you may use them but is still rumors!

Really feel good about switching to PS4
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a xbox loyalist since the original. But after last years E3, and seeing how xbox one was more of a media machine rather then a gaming machine, I was really turned off by Microsoft for that. So I decided to look into PS4 and after a few months of reading news about both and seeing the directions that both were going, I went for the PS4. I feel like I have made the right choice, the few games that I have played are graphically beautiful as well as just overall nice to try a new piece of hardware and software. Just look at the sales numbers, PS4 is dominating the Xbox one.

Great for gamers, no matter your definition
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great system and user interface. It's so quick and intuitive. Very little lag time between selecting and opening apps, standby mode is great for quick access and low power consumption, controller battery a little draining due to light, but great controller nonetheless. Low amount of AAA games but that grows steadily and indie games have been great to get into. Give them a shot for sure.

Great system, just need more exclusive games
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this as our second PS4 (so my girlfriend and I could play together). The system is great, the interface is updated nicely (although it would be better if you were able to REMOVE things from it). The controller is updated, and feels a lot better in the hands, but the battery doesn't last as long as in the PS3. The biggest downside is the lack of games designed from the ground up for the system, so the graphics are top notch... yet. While there may not be that many games for it yet, I would have purchased PS4 anyway, so this was just a purchase for the future, but able to enjoy a couple of the games for it now.

Great console!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.-The system itself looks awesome. Very architectural. It was actually the first thing my girlfriend commented on and said she loved the way it looked. -The User Interface is basically an upgraded XMB. If you liked the XMB, you'll like this interface. It is also incredibly snappy and responsive. -Getting in to and out of the Playstation Store is seamless. Not like on PS3 where it takes 30 sec to a minute to load. It loads instantly and is integrated in to the UI. -Resogun is awesome in all its old school shoot-em-up glory. -Killzone: Shadowfall is beautiful but I haven't had too much play time with it yet. -Knack is surprisingly fun, despite what all the reviews say. It looks like a Pixar movie at points. Drop in co-op is a blast. It's so much fun with me as regular Knack and my girlfriend as Robot Knack. She is actually better at beating up baddies than I am. -Updated trophy support. Rarity of trophies is a fun little data point to look at. -Playstation APP/offscreen capabilities are nice. Typing using a touch screen is so much nicer than using a gamepad. -DualShock 4 (the controller) is nice to hold. Trigger shoulder buttons are a marked improvement over the DS3 R2/L2 buttons. -My favorite feature: VITA REMOTE PLAY! Works like a dream. Almost no perceptible lag. I was playing Resogun on it (a game that requires little to no lag or you'll die) and it ran so smoothly.
