I've had my PS4 for about a month now and I absolutely love this thing. I was a long-time xbox360 fan and like so many others, was turned away by the initial requirements microsoft was going to be forcing on its members at the release of xbox one. Even though they quickly saw sought to bandaid their announcements soon after, it was too late for me and my heart was now set on getting a PS4. Now... Onto the good stuff... This thing is simply awesome! Stunning graphics, silky smooth dashboard, hardware looks sleek, the new controllers feel great (I never liked the old ps2/ps3 controllers), the whole machine just runs super smooth, as it should being a nex gen console. Had a chance to play an xbox one recently and have to say that the PS4 definitely has a noticeable edge on graphics. Very very happy with this purchase. Will definitely recommend!

Took a chance between the two "next gen" gaming systems and glad I went with the PlayStation 4. I've been through almost every console from Super Nintendo on up and am still blown away by how each time video gaming gets better and better... and was even more blown away with the PS4. After reading tons of reviews I was able to get my hands on one of the limited quantities Best Buy had an within a couple days I was blasting my way through COD:Ghosts and Battlefield 4. I've been blown away by the graphics and content within the two games, and am even more so impressed with the redesigned UI of the PS4 compared to the PS3. Sony amped up the ease and accessibility I feel, making the environment on a lot more user friending when navigating through options. Using the PlayStation Network seems a bit easier since the last time I used it on the PS4 (approximately three months ago) and everything seems more stream-lined. I have, however, noticed that if my internet connection is not strong enough (e.g. streaming too much, a download eating up too much bandwidth, etc...) the PSN will not connect and any sort of online gaming is limited. This could be to poor ISP quality though. All in all, I'm glad I went with the PS4 vs. the Xbox One. It seems to have been the correct choice for wanting to play games, rather than have a social media box sitting in my living room.

The Playstation 4 is THE next gen console. If you aren't already a PlayStation fan you will be after seeing this console in action. Games look beautiful and action pops off the screen with the graphics of this console. The system comes with everything you need to get started. There are games available for all gamers from action packed shooters to fun family friendly platformers and adventures. This console has your entertainment covered. Watch Blu-ray movies, stream video, play games, share gameplay clips with friends. I highly recommend this next gen powerhouse.

Everything I would expect from Playstation. No complaints. Good graffics, great speed. A nice step up from the PS3 without losing any features.

This is our family's first time trying a Sony gaming council. We love the ease of use and great dvd quality. Love the rechargeable controller.

Serves up dazzling graphics, runs on a simplified and logical interface, and boasts a fantastic controller. It's $100 cheaper than rival Xbox One and has the upper hand on indie and digital-only games. It also doubles as a great Blu-ray player and has plenty of streaming entertainment apps.

I have been using my PS4 for about a month now and I am completely blown away by how incredible it is. Coming from PS3, I think it is noticeably faster than PS3 all around. The new cross-media bar (or whatever they call the new interface) is much simpler and streamlined compared to the PS3's. I also like the included 500GB hard drive since that was one of the first things I upgraded on my 80GB PS3. The only thing I can find wrong with it (and this really doesn't pertain to the system itself) is that the PlayStation Store could be organized better. I actually liked the layout of the old PS Store when PS3 first came out. I think it was a bit easier to find games and add-ons, but that's probably just me.

Graphics on this gaming system are crazy! Sony has out done themselves with this one. The options packed into ps4 almost seem endless.

Sony has done very well with the PS4. It works as advertised with very little problems. This statement might seem pretty small, but if you have ever purchased any electronic system on the launch timeframe, this is huge. Everything is so much faster a clean compared to the PS3 and Xbox 360. The menu system is very straight forward and easy to navigate. I have an Xbox One as well and can say if you want to primarily play Video Games with your friends, the PS4 is the better system. The graphics are pretty much identical. I have each exclusive title for each respective system. If you can tell a difference, good on you, They both look great. The Xbox One is good in it's own right, but is a lot harder to navigate and figure out what you want to do. The Kinect is frustrating. I much prefer using the controller to navigate. There is a ton of things going on in the Xbox's backround that seem to slow things down. The PS4 is very much more responsive. It seems that the overall system and party chat items have completely reversed. I loved the Xbox 360s chat system and overall OS compared to the PS3 and now I really like the PS4s chat system and OS more than the Xbox One. Hopefully this review helps. I know it is long but they are expensive and seem pretty similar.

I love my 360, but man does the PS4 blow it and the One out of the water! Fast, powerful, beautiful, and most importantly, it's FUN!

Just to disclaim, I own a PS3, a PS4, and a Wii U. I enjoy all 3 platformers. Each have their own talent which they bring to the table. The PS4 in particular is spectacular in its quality; the graphics and the variety of its many services. The games which I own show what its graphics engine is capable of, and a few more which are soon to be released (at the time this review was written) look promising. My only two gripes are this: 1) No backwards compatibility with the PS3. Sure, the X-Box One also has this downfall, but the Wii U laughs in both of their faces with this feature to play Wii games. With the massive, massive gaming library the PS3 has, I have no choice but to keep my old console system to play them. Unless... 2) The new feature (still in Beta), Playstation Now, is Sony's attempt at bridging the problem found in 1. HOWEVER, their pricing system is just atrociously absurd. Be prepared to shell out doubledigit dollar amounts if you want to RENT a PS3 game digitally for anything longer than 4 hours. Until I see that price go down, this isn't a feature that I'll be using. Sorry, Sony. All in all, you can probably wait until the PS4 has a larger library before investing in this console, but you won't regret it if you get one now. Just don't make the same mistake I did in not researching if you plan to play any of your PS3 games on it.

The Playstation 4 is a superb gaming console. Beautiful games, excellent design and build, the BEST controller, user intuitive UI, free top quality games thanks to Playstation Plus; with such great pros and insignificant cons, its hard not to recommend a PS4. Current game selection could be better, but its actually much better then any other console 6 months in. Current great games include: Infamous: Second Son, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, Resogun, Fez, Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition. Upcoming games I'll get: Watch_Dogs, The Last of Us Remastered, Destiny, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Batman: Arkham Knight, Uncharted, The Order: 1886, Final Fantasy XV, Fallout 4, and future installments in other excellent series, as well as exciting new IPs. The Playstation 4 has an amazing future, I didn't even mention you can stream PS3 games to it like Netflix in the form of PS Now, which launches soon. Get a PS4!

Bought this for my 12 year old boy's birthday. It is so much better in terms of graphics, speed compared to the PS3. So far so good

performs very good, excellent graphics, using for Madden (does not stop glitches in Madden :-( ), and Assasin's Creed-outstnading.

Made the switch from xbox to PS4 and couldn't be happier. The graphic, gameplay, controller is everything I expected and more.

Always been a sony guy. The controller feels great and is responsive. Graphics are smooth and can't wait for new games to launch.

the PlayStation 4 is a great upgrade from the PS3 it's faster strongerand appears to have a better buildthe DualShock floor is definitely one of the highlights of this console it was about time for a redesigned and it couldn't have gone any betterthe only real negative so far is that the Sony wireless headset doesn't work with ps4 definitely needs to be patched in and like I mentioned before lackluster lunch titles nothing too interesting except for resogun which is a psn game

The PS4 is an amazing entertainment machine with a few shortcomings. First of all, the games are mostly terrific. I've played through quite a few of the them and the graphics are impressive as is the framerate. Second, the available alternatives for streaming video are impressive. All the usuals like Netflix and Hulu, plus Amazon Prime and Redbox. But the more unusual ones like Vidzone are great (think Spotify for music videos, totally fun to run through all your favs and new videos on demand). And the controller is immediately familiar with the addition of a touch pad on the top. Doesn't add much for available games yet, but it does open up possibilities. As for the bad, there's no 3D Blur Ray support. Why in the world is that missing? It's in the PS3 and is really just firmware. Also, there aren't many exclusives. I can think of three big ones, Knack, Killzone and Infamous Second Son. Fun games, but really not much to set it apart from the competition or even the PS3. Arguably, equivalent games on the Xbox One have a slower frame rate and resolution (like Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition and Metal Gear Solid V), but there's not much difference otherwise. Plus you need a PSPlus membership to play online. Not a big deal, but just FYI. At the end of the day, it's well worth the purchase!

Used to play PS1, then PS2, then briefly played PS3 before switching to Xbox 360. At the time, that was where the games our household wanted to play were, even though we preferred the graphics of the PS3 and not requiring additional Xbox Live memberships for each person in the household. Now, however, we're back to the PS4. Really a great console, with amazing capabilities and, at this point, comparing it to the Xbox One, well, this is just definitely more of getting your money's worth.

I'll be honest, it took me a little while to figure out how to turn the dang thing on - and being a man I sure as heck wasn't going to look at the manual. But overall I've been pretty happy with my PS4! You can definitely tell it's an upgrade from the PS3, though the gap might not feel quite as great as it was from PS2 to PS3. Nonetheless, graphically, things are much prettier. And rendering distance is incredible. I'm currently playing through inFAMOUS: Second Son and you can look clear across the city to see building (quite clearly) on the other side. I was impressed. The controller took just a little getting used to, but I'd consider it an improvement, too. The joystick grips felt a little funny on my thumbs at first but I got used to them pretty quickly and now don't even notice. The touchpad is a neat little addition - the games the use it make it feel pretty natural, not forced, and its use for messaging makes typing a lot faster once you get a feel for it. The game selection isn't the greatest right now, but the line-up of games coming has my interest, so we'll see. Overall, I think it was a nice purchase!
