Customers are saying
Customers love the PlayStation Classic Console's affordable price and the inclusion of two controllers, finding it easy to use and a nostalgic trip down memory lane. However, many are disappointed with the limited game selection and some have noted issues with the emulation quality. The compact size is also a frequently praised feature.

Worth the sale price!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this on major clearance just to have around the house for the girls (Ages 5-8) They love it just cause it’s something different. System itself is super tiny and adorable. Does not physically “open” but comes with 2 normal sized wired controllers

Ok
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It has some good games but it is missing the classic games that made the PlayStation the iconic system it was back in the day probably wasn't able to secure the rights to the 3rd party company's to keep this thing under 100 bucks people compare this to the Nintendo classic systems but the majority of what is on the NES and SNES classic was published by Nintendo Sony got to making there own games later own in the PlayStation one era now if they made a PS2 classic with majority Sony games on that under a hundred count me in.

Gives a RasPi a Run for Its Money!!! Convenient!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ll Who’d’a thunk it? The PSC has become, by far, the most powerful single board computer, for the money. Whether $20 (I got it for that, on sale) or $40, and despite not aiming for Wi-Fi Internet or Bluetooth, at all you only simply $1 or $2, apiece, the games, alone, are worth the price of admission — especially given the games you get. The lineup COULD be better, but you can’t please everyone, with a set of ROMs with fewer than a hundred games, really. Throw in a beautiful set of Sony’s OG, PS1, D-pad controller’s with USB connectors and hand grips, and, even without analog sticks (which was originally the case, with the first PS1s) you have a perfect set of PC controllers, for retro gaming, to kill time, taking a quick break, from working, on a desktop or lap, too. Otherwise, I’d suggest getting a pair of 8bitdo Bluetooth receivers for those who can keep track of them. Those receivers can be bought, here, and I got two, on Lightning Deals, for $13/ea. However, that’s not with controllers, but I can use whatever BT controllers I want (I use PS3s or 4s, but my bud has and likes X-styled ones, which are no problem, either, minus their integrity). Seriously, though. Check out some stuff , on YouTube, and as much as is being done, with the PSClassic, to modify it, with software (see page 3 of the manual, for “authorization to modify,*” YOUR PSC), it has become an UNMATCHED deal, at $20, for an SBC (Single Board Computer). As compared to a Raspberry Pi 3B+, a very popular SBC, for emulating old games and can’t run the ($35, for computer board, alone, with easily another $20 - $60 of accessories, to put it in a case and get it running... The PSClassic** has a 1.5ghz processor with 1GB DDR3 (faster than DDR2) RAM and a 16GB Solid State-type flash storage memory, as compared to the RPI 3B+’s 1.4ghz processor. *NOTE; Many states in the US have already adopted “right to repair laws,” so,that one can modify one’s OWNED equipment, as one see fit, or one can take the machine to a local repair shop (kinda useless, at $20, but... ) to have it fixed. If you’d like to be able to fix (or to have fixed, without going to the company (to pay $$$$$$ for, perhaps, the same thing...) please do what you can, to help get “right to repair “ laws passed, in your states, or across the country, through local represent. ** The PSClassic needs a USB outlet or adapter, whether a USB wall socket or a USB port, on your TV, that is 5 Watts, @ 1AMP of electricity/resistance (most TV USB ports, especially recently, could most conveniently supply that, through the included USB power cable) supply that amount, and an Amazon FireTV or an average Android Phone comes with that kind of “standard” power (an iPhone/iPad adapter has over 2AMPs, and so check to make sure you can use one of those, safely, with a PSClassic), to power it. It comes with the power *cable* to plug. My total cost, for a Raspberry Pi 3B+ cost about $65 - $70, for a case, cables, microSD card (storage), and power cable/adapter. An NES Classic costs about $75, with included case and cables, a 1.2GHz processor on the SBC, 256MB (PSC = 1GB (4X) of DDR3 on-board memory, and 512MB (PSC = 16GB (32X)) of Solid State NAND Flash (Storage).*** *** These a basic specs for the various machines, to illustrate their relative capabilities, for the money. When setting up the machines, for your needs, to put it bluntly, there’s a LOT more room to Bleem it out. In turn, that means there are a lot more resources (including speed) available, on the PSClassic, to run more and bigger games — as compared to the other two listed, for a price as low as 1/2 or 1/3 the price...

Good if you get it on sale
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Whether you should get this really depends on how much the price tag is at the time. I wouldn't have recommended this at its original price of 100 dollars. I bought it in a flash sale of 30 dollars and don't regret it. It's the perfect gift for anyone that never got to chance to play the original PlayStation or anyone wanting to remember the glory days 3d Gaming. That's also the double edge sword, it's not as pretty as you remember it lol. Also, the games that are included are kind of strange. You have classics like Tekken 3 and metal gear solid and then games I have never even heard of like jumping flash . They definitely could have done a better job with the lineup, too missing classics. it also comes with two controllers so that's great, too bad the length of the cords makes you play on the floor.

It's going to be OK.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Reviews are correct about this thing. The library is weak, the emulation is spotty, and half of the games are PAL. But, it's still worth grabbing one on sale because of the simple modding process.

Great Value
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I literally bought this for Tekken 3, FFVII, Intelligent Qube & Ridge Racer Type 4. They all are just as I remember and the controller quality is just as accurate. I caught it on sale for the July 4th sale. It couldn't be passed on for $25

Definitely worth it for cheap
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a couple of these when they were on sale for $19.99. The design of the console and the controllers are nice and the build quality is good. The games installed are lacking but you can easily add more by using homebrew applications.

Wasted Potential
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this thing at full price at launch, this was a mistake on my part. Has a good selection of games, but most of them are set to PAL region by default so they end up running slower than they normally should. Can't change this without a USB Keyboard so If you have one that works, you can access the system's menu so you can set it to NTSC. Only then it might be a good buy, otherwise don't bother. Don't spend more than $40 for this. Does not include any Crash Bandicoot or Spyro the Dragon games.

Great for Retro Gaming fanatics
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Incredibly easy to use and great for kids because there are no settings and no WiFi required! I really loved the original console however the game selection is very limited. The controls are quite nice and at the price you can’t beat it.

Good product if you are a fanatic of video games
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good console if you really are crazy about video games, because the games on there are not very good and the emulation is the not the best on some because it uses the PAL version of the game which reduces de frame rate. But you can mod it and add your own games and that is what this console amazing other than that is not that great

Novelty fun
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This brings back all sorts of nostalgia. I do wish there was a way to unload more games, but I've spent many hours playing the preloaded final fantasy 7 on the original PlayStation form factor.

Semi nostalgia in a box
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Look this would get a 5 if it had more games that would be considered classic now (dino crisis, crash etc.) And tbh I bought this when it was 20 bucks cuz that's worth it. I can't believe they tried to sell this for 100 originally.

Not horrible, but not great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This isn't in the same league as the other retro mini consoles. The quality of the games isn't as good, the inclusion of PAL games for the US is puzzling, and the first generation 3D graphics just don't hold up as well as the 8 and 16 bit, 2D sprites. The original price was too high, but at the steep discount it's currently at, it's worth a buy. The controllers can be used for retro gaming on your PC or Mac, and the console itself can be modified to greatly enhance your experience.

Default config sucks - thank goodness for the ‘net
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The default setup just blows. Crappy game selection, slow and buggy gameplay, Sony used EU roms that play 10fps slower than US versions. But the internet can show you how to make it an awesome little machine, ESPECIALLY at $25!

It's okay
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is okay but only at the $20 price point. It would be 3 or maybe even 2 stars at any other price. The chords are short, the game list is just okay and the over all emulation is just okay. It's easy to hack so that's a plus.

Brings back memories for us old people!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered this gift for my husband and he loves it. Due to some of the early reviews, I was nervous about it. But, those reviews are obviously from purchasers who either take gaming way too seriously OR aren’t old enough to remember that this is simply the way these games looked and responded back in the nineties. We bought our first PS1 in 1996 and it was very advanced for the time. Since then, gaming systems have come a long way, making this system seem old and not worth the money. This system is geared towards people over the age of 40 who enjoy the simplicity of putting the smack down on their teenagers who can’t beat their parents at Tekken 3 because the controller doesn’t have toggles. If you are looking for a true throwback, this is it. If you are a young gamer with the latest and greatest, keep walking.

Follow mod instructions from Youtube
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just the few games included wasn't worth it. But followed mod instructions on Youtube to be able to play many games on it. Taking a star off as occasionally it needs to be reset to unfreeze it.

Out of the box it is a huge disappointment, but...
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s painfully obvious that Sony put zero effort into this PlayStation Classic, as the emulation is wonky running at PAL frame rates, even though we’re NTSC. This was a quick cash grab trying to compete with the huge success of the NES and SNES classic. At $100, it’s a total ripoff. However, there is good news. For $20 it’s a steal. Thanks to the community, this box can easily be fixed with a cheap thumb drive of 64GB or more, and some simple software. You can have full control over your PS games and even add more games and consoles. It will basically become an awesome emulation box. A simple google search will guide you.

Great Console but needs more games
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The console is small and durable. Comes with two controllers but only 3 or 4 of the 20 games allow more than one player. Would be 5 stars if more 2 player games were included.

Not bad for $20
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Compared to the other mini classic consoles, this was a perfunctory effort by Sony. For starters, DualShocks aren't even used and the cables are rather short. For the games themselves, the PAL version is used for some games like Tekken 3 so the game runs slower and not at 60 fps. Emulation wise, the console runs the open source emulator, PCSX ReARMed. So why the four stars? If you're willing to mod the console (rather simple), it has a lot of potential as an emulation machine. All you need is a USB flash drive (2.0 is better) and you can find instructions on the Internet on how to easily add more games as well as give you the option to use other controllers. So for $20 if you're willing to mod the console a bit, it definitely becomes worth it.
