    USB 2.0

It doesn't mention it anywhere in the specs, but take note that this is NOT a USB 3.0 drive. This drive uses the slower USB 2.0, and is slow even as 2.0 drives go. For a drive this size the speed difference will be significant. If your expected use for a USB drive is to quickly copy files, grab the drive and go, this is not the drive for you. A 20gb transfer to this drive took about 2 1/2 hours. If you are going to actually fill the drive, plan on starting your copy before you go to bed--you might get lucky and have it completed when you get up, but to be on the safe side you should probably plan on waiting until you get home from work the next day.

I purchased this specifically for my Pioneer AVH1440NEX in my car. I currently have a Sandisk 64gb that is already at 50% memory usage with my mp3's, wav's, flac's, and my Matrix trilogy. I wanted a bit more room in case I get more movies or HQ song files. WAV and FLAC files are almost 10x the size of a 128k mp3. After almost all of Sunday moving all my files into the new PNY drive which I formatted to FAT32, same as the Sandisk, it is causing my Pioneer head unit to constantly go into the "format read" error. It's constantly restarting the head unit, than says "format read", then restarts and repeats. As good of a value as this drive was I should have stayed with a brand I can rely on like Sandisk.

At $20 on sale I thought this drive was a deal

I got this drive on sale for only $19.99 I thought it was a really good deal, then I went to write a large number of files to it, and the average write time was comparable to the old days of writing to a floppy disc, I was able to burn the files to a DVD faster than this drive would read/write. If it's really cheap and you have a lot of time to spare waiting on the read/write, go for it, other wise, stay away from this one.

Bought this on a online only flash sale for the incredible price of $20.00. Took it home and loaded 80 gigs of docs, photos and mp3's. Took a lunch break and went back to load some more files, and my machine wouldn't recognize it. Tried it in a different machine to no avail. Tried to reformat it but couldn't b/c it wasn't recognized by either machine.Returned it to Best Buy and they refunded my money no problem.

Installed it on my Mac Mini to use as my iPhoto storage drive. Was converting only 50gb of data but it took WAY too long. 5 hours later it still had not transferred the data. USB 2.0 is too slow. Returned it - no questions asked - for a 64gb 3.0 drive which worked great. Less capacity but much faster xfer rate. Unsure how it would work for Windows-based devices but it does work on Apple devices.

Transfer speed is extremely slow. Waaaaaaaay too slow! The ONLY reason I give it 2 stars is for the amount of storage for the $$$. Thats it. The plastic cover is hard to pull back and forth and some people can't figure out even how to open it. If I hadn't waited 6 hours + to copy off data from my system on the two I have, I would have taken them back. Too much time invested now.

This is an updated design and (maybe) firmware of pny 128GB 2.0. I think the old version was better. Sturdier, easier port sliding, and faster writing. The only reason I bought this because it supports mac os 8.6 and later. I have a twelve year old imac.

I BOUGHT THIS TO BACK UP AND TRANSFER FILES BETWEEN COMPUTERS. IT WORKS FINE ON TWO OF MY COMPUTERS - BUT USUALLY WILL NOT BE RECOGNISED BY THE THIRD ONE. USUALLY NOT SENSED AT ALL - OR DETECTED AS DEFECTIVE - OCCASIONALLY IT GETS ACCEPTED AND WORKS FINE. I HAVE SEVERAL OTHER PNY AND SANDISK THUMB DISKS THAT ALL WORK ON ALL 3 MACHINES.

It's a decent usb flash drive. But it's really slow if you're transferring anything big. And I couldn't figure out how to protect it with a password. The PNY rep I spoke with over the phone said that it would require third-party software. I would have bought something else, if I had realized that.

I bought this because of the great price. I know it was USB 2.0, so I know that it wouldn't be the fastest drive, but this drive is slow. Really, really ssssllllooooowww. I use it as a second backup of some important data, but would not want to use this for anything other than an occasional secondary backup.

I bought this memory so I could free up some space from my computer. I didn't know this brand. The memory was supposed to be 128 GB, but it's only 119 GB, where are the other 9 GB???? It is very slow. I bought two and I'll be returning the other one that is not open.

Connection doesn't retract, as all my other flash drives do. Would prefer if it had a chain, but I knew it didn't when I purchased it. Bought this one because of sale price (supposedly reduced from $69+) but saw it everywhere for the so-called reduced price of $19,99. Never would have been worth $69.

I found this at very good price and I bought it but then realized it was the same kind I had before that did not withstand much punishment. My last USB exactly like this one stopped working because I carried it in my wallet and I sat on it. I think USB itself is good but again cannot withstand even minor punishment.

While the device does the trick, don't buy it for speed. Attempting to write volumes of info to the USB can take hours. Great for occasional backups or file transport, but if you have large files to transfer → you might want to plan a vacation while it's writing.

Bought online and shipped quick. 2 weeks later I was reattaching the tip every other time I took it out of a port. Cheap enough with enough storage that I don't care that much, but come on 2 weeks.

The drive is pretty slow. Large files get up to about 6 MB/s. With lots of small files, the write speed drops to around 1 KB/s. That is very bad. Can't recommend this one.

The first one I bought went bad within 3 weeks, and I couldn't get a refund and the next one has been so-so. Sometimes it recognizes the content and sometimes it doesn't. I will probably try a different brand next time.

This is a great storage device for huge files, but its not that fast being USB 1 or 2 - copying files at about 12 megs per second compared to about 200 to my solid state external drive. BUT - I got it at a great price in-store!

It holds a lot of music but when I play it in the car there's a problem with searching the entire drive and it's slow. Don't know if it's the gb's because I have a 32gb flash drive that works perfect.
