I bought this flash drive initially because I noticed that it was on sale for a good price, while browsing my local Best Buy store. Specs: 16GB, USB 3.0 It is smaller than most flash drives that I have come across, with a retractable function that saves space and protects the part that inserts into a computer. The design even includes a cutout that would make it easy to attach to a keychain. The surprise came when I first opened and used the flash drive. It has a bonus "vault" feature, that allows you to have a password protected folder within the flash drive. It's perfect if you want to use it to share data with friends or coworkers, but have some files that you want to be kept private. Very intuitive and user friendly, and an excellent way to make this product stand out among the normally uniform crowd of flash drive storage devices.

Super Deal for a USB Stick

$3.17 for a name brand 16 GB USB stick on sale! One really can't complain at that price, right? Best Buy has proven themselves to be seriously competitive this year, impressing just about everyone looking for seriously good deals. As far as I can tell so far - and this is minor - the only downside to this is the odd sliding mechanism meant to either expose the USB connector or somewhat hide it (I say "somewhat" because it never actually fully covers the end of it when "closed"). It's not the best thought out design, and it's stiff. But this is such a minor complaint, it hardly matters....especially because again, Best Buy sold it for only $3.17 (AFTER tax)!!!

You know people you say 16 gigs why do you need so much now they say 16 gigs enough well I always go well enough is enough until you don't need me anymore so I'll just go and buy the biggest amount of gigabytes I can for my dollar so if I can get 16 gigabytes it supposed to 8 gigabytes or if I can get 32 gigabytes but the price on 16 was the best price for the time and I use store credits and rewards to get it for free so consider that option if you're going to get some for free or you got a good price point on this product and it's always good to have something around your neck that you can use to grab photos or share files without really going too far with a computer just Grab & Go

I bought PNY USB flash drives before, but never this specific model. I was always very happy - they are fast, they were well made and I loved the fact that the cap cannot be lost - you just slide it on and off. The older ones had really nice, smooth motion. This one (and I bought 2) are just really hard to slide. There is this click at the beginning and at the end of motion. It is very hard to open or close it fully. I have to jam it against the wall to actually open or close the cap fully. And both of them have the same problem, so it is not just a defect. But I give them 4 stars, because they are still relatively fast for USB 2.0 :).

It's hard to imagine what you'd need a larger one for. So if you're asking yourself "Is this large enough to be useful for my kids/grandkids?" the answer is probably yes. But even the larger sizes are reasonably priced nowadays! We've come along way since the day of 256MB thumb drives. While I still own my first few (and now very ancient) thumb drives, I just needed something better. This is 64 times larger and far cheaper than what I got back when this tech first came around. These even come in larger sizes - but even this 16GB drive is more than enough for a student or general needs. At this convenient of a price, buy two or three because they would make great gifts! (More tech-savvy users could even boot an alternative operating system, create a startup/repair disk, or just use it as an automated backup - consider the possibilities!)

I ordered three of these 16 GB thumb drives as part of the Black Friday sales. The price was right and they arrived in great shape (shipping was free also). They are a nice size with the USB end retracting into the protective case. There is no separate cap so the USB end, though retracted, is still exposed. All three drives worked without any problems. There is a very little hole at the end of the thumb drive so a lanyard can be attached, if you can work with the small hole. A small split key ring will work as a transition from the drive to a lanyard. I have always been satisfied with PNY thumb drives.

It works fine, no problems. These drives read fast enough for most purposes but the write speeds are atrocious - it's like I'm using a floppy drive. I'm getting around 3 Megabytes/sec while USB 2.0 itself is capable of 30-40. This drive is around TEN TIMES slower when writing than the USB 2.0 standard. You'll notice the manufacturer provides no performance information whatsoever - that's no accident. In PNY's defense, nearly all low-cost USB 2.0 flash drives are equally slow, so this drive is no worse than any other cheap USB 2.0 drive. But it definitely works. If you're only occasionally backing up a few files, you'll be happy, but for large or frequent backups, you may want to get a faster, USB 3.0 drive, even if your computer doesn't support USB 3.0.

It's a big, relatively slow flash drive. It works well and I filled it to capacity and read back to make sure it is legit. My only minor issue with it is that it detects slowly. Most flash drives (even my 64GB PNY Attache) detect right away and are usable within a 5 seconds of being plugged in. This one takes about 10 seconds, then windows shows a dialog about installing it, and 20-30 seconds after it is plugged in you can use it. Also, one old computer with USB 1.1 didn't detect it at all, but did work with the 64GB Attache...but that's probably just a limitation of that ancient computer.

Not too small and didn't need 32 GB or higher. Had a project where scanned parent's and giving the digital files to parent's and siblings. Had plenty of DVD's that could burn them to but this is far more flexible as can re-arrange files into different groups. Couldn't do that with DVD or if set up as slideshow presentation. Got this USB 2.0 version at the closest store so I knew 4 GB was good. Search nearby stores for faster USB 3.0 version which my closest store(s) didn't have but was noted was enroute to parents. Always expand out search if closest store indicates out of stock.

I bought this flash drive near my local Best Buy store while thanks giving. One major plus about this product is that the dust cover (clear cover part) is connected TO the product, which removes the chance of losing the cap like with other products. I will only buy USB drives that have the cover attached so that if it gets thrown in my bag or pencil case or whatever, I don't have to worry about it coming off. I trust PNY products as I haven't had any issues so far. I would recommend and would purchase again.

I bought this while on sale. I buy a lot of flash drives, and in my experience, PNY flash drives have failed less often. Normally I would buy a much larger drive, but I needed to create a couple of multi boot drives with Parted Magic and my backup utility. These work fine, but they are difficult to insert in the usb slots, and the shape is not ideal for labeling the outside. What I look for in a flash drive, if I don't have something specific in mind: 1. Can I label the outside with its purpose? 2. Is it usb 3.0 (which is a problem for older computers but is faster) 3. Can I put it on a keychain? 4. Size 5. If I could test it out, I would check how easy it is to insert in a laptop.

I used this flash drive to download my Garmin update for my navigation system in my 2017 car. I have a MAC computer and it was compatible. However, I was not able to update the navigation system in my car, but it was not because of the flash I don't think. The dealership called Garmin and they indicated that the software for the MAC updates for the Garmin was having difficulties. I had to purchase another flash drive but I did not purchase the same kind to be on the safe side. I will still purchase another one.

This is a dependable bit of hardware. I haven't noticed any difference between what the images look like on my desktop computer or what they look like when I've used this to transfer them to my laptop. The same goes for the documents. My husband uses them for his music compilations and swears by them. I recommend them for their quick transfer capabilities as well as the safety they provide your digitals. I've never lost data using these. Also, I reuse them a lot and have never experienced any bleed-through. For the dependability, convenience and price, the PNY Attaché 4 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive can't be beat. -PEACE-

Bought 2 of these because they were really cheap. Sorry to say that I did not keep them. Plugged one the USB port and NOTHING. Put it in the other USB port, again NOTHING. Checked the USB ports in settings, all reported OK. Got another flash drive and plugged it in, fine. Put it in the other USB port, fine, too. Rebooted the computer (when in doubt reboot, right??). Put the thing back in USB port and again NOTHING. Back to Best Buy. Both the opened item and the other one were returned. No clue as to nature of problem except the symptom - didn't work. Have had this brand "PNY" before and was fine.

I picked up several of these at a very low price. I wanted to make Windows recovery media, and that needs a flash drive. They might be closing them out because they are USB-2, but to be honest I don't have any need for the higher USB-3 speeds. They are small, have a slider that protects the connector (although it doesn't cover the terminals, so watch out for pocket lint), and are perforated so you could conceivably put them on a lanyard. It would have to be a very thin cord, though, since the slot is tiny. The biggest con is that there's no activity light.

Ok so first of if you have nothing to do other than sit in front of the pc or laptop waiting for this usb to write things as fast as you can drop them in, THIS IS NOT THE DRIVE FOR YOU! I have movies in mine and it is just perfect, No I don't mind that it's made out of plastic as I don't carry it around anywhere. It's either put away in a usb caring case or on the tv usb where I use it to watch movies. I bought it with one purpose and it achieves that. I got 1 16gig usb's they each cost me $8.00 and they work perfectly no problems and I've had them for almost 6 months.

I bought this to transfer data and system updates form my computer to my car navigation system. It is easy to use, holds more than enough data and works perfectly with the car navigation system to complete the updates to the software. Also works great for backing up other software. Particularly installation files for software that has been downloaded. Always a good idea to back these up in case your system crashes and things need to be re-installed. Keep the product codes and installation files on this device in case of computer crashes or if you purchase a new computer.

I bought these on sale at a great price. I shoot weddings and usually burn the pictures onto a dvd to give to the bride and groom. However it can be time consuming doing this. However with these jump drives being on sale, I purchased a dozen of these. I just copy and paste the jpeg files onto the jump drive and give this to the bride and groom. Saves me time and I'm able to give them a much larger file as this jump drive is double the size of a double layer dvd. If you can get them on sale, buy them up, I did.
