This Hard drive was priced great. The speeds are very good for transfers. Worked out well for the laptop I put it in as well. Would recommend for anyone needing an upgrade or replacement.

purchased this as it was in sale and it was perfect for the need I had for a cheap option storage for a very old PC (12+yrs old) It worked right off the start, formatted to ntsf and installed windows 7 which took a whole 15 minutes due to the extreme fast speed of the disk. Overal a great buy

I got several of these for and used them to refresh a bunch of older PC/computers and install a fresh copy of Windows. They may not be the fastest SSD out there yet they are a super good buy to make an aging machine same almost new - and faster than it was originally. The smaller ones a great as boot only devices, these have enough extra space to be functional for daily use unless you need a lot of storage.

I have bought three of these and I have not been disappointed. I am using them as boot drives for three older PCs. They were easy to install and seem to perform well. If you are moving the OS and apps from a larger drive you of course have to ensure whatever you want on these fits and then choose the proportional option in the supplied Acronis software. Now all three of my PCs boot up in about 30 seconds.

This drive was purchased to replace a failing system drive in an older MacBook Pro computer. Comparing the products on the shelf, this one seemed to be a bit faster and more premium, and I've used PNMY in the past and trust brand. Installation was easy, formatting worked, and the drive handled OS installation very nicely. I havent had a chance to run performance tests but there are no issues with speed so far!

My desktop is 7 years old but still going. Recently I had problems and determined it was the harddrive. I've swapped out a laptop's harddrive before so this was easy. It comes with the software to clone the old drive. Boot up time is much quicker. Since I clonned it, all the unused programs were left installed. I might do a reset to minimize programs. Overall, great prodict.

The 240GB PNY drives have proven to be great drives, the fact that BestBuy has them $5 cheaper than anyone else is just GRAVY! I use them in Laptops, Desktops, and ALL-IN-ONES.

I have used a few of these now and have had no issues. They are older tech but that is why they cost less. They should last a long time regardless. Getting a high performance upgrade for $30 is a great deal. Yes there are faster, with better warranties but this is budget or low cost affordable upgrade piece of hardware. If performance is really important why read about this model.

I have a 5 year old laptop that’s been slowing down over the years. I upgraded (RAM) memory a while ago and that helped for a while. But it started slowing down again and decided to upgrade to an SSD when a good deal came along. This definitely did the trick - Windows loads way faster and I can get to work with virtually no wait.

Right now I have enough space to watch my video collection and game. Thanks God and PNy engineers.

Good solid state drive, easy to install and a very good price

My old laptop started failing, and I didn't realized that my old hard drive still ran on mechanical parts. Upgrading to this solid state drive was the best choice I could have made! My laptop runs like it is brand new. The 240GB storage is more than enough to perform well. Highly recommend!

Faster than a speeding 7200 rpm IBM type drive.This solid state drive won't let you down.I use it myself for video and audio editing. I know space is a option.But, this ssd drive does just fine.When I turn on my PC its fast as can be. So, if its fast and good for video.You know it's faster for regular web browsers and office work.

This ssd is very fast to use and install. The price was reasonable too!

I upgraded my wife's laptop with this drive. For a mainstream SSD, it has good performance. For the price, it was the best way to breathe new life into an i5 laptop.

These days an SSD drive is really the way to go for either a desktop or a laptop. They are speedy and use less power. I have a friend who needed to go from a nearly dead hard disk to an SSD. I bought the drive, was able to clone her old drive. Swapped the drives out and everything is great. This drive did the job and my friend is now very happy. So am I.

SSD drives bring ne life to older laptops. Extend your dual core laptop a few more years by adding the speed of an SSD drive to your machine. Highly recommended.

Computer was beginning to slow down and didn't want to spend the money to upgrade completely. Add this drive as my OS drive and made the old hard drive my storage drive. computer is like brand new!! Yes, the drive is small but very fast and works for what I needed. No issues to date and computer goes from off to ready to use in less than 10 seconds!
