I bought this drive with intentions to make it strictly for the operating system only. I tried numerous times in various ways to get it on to the drive and it just would not work. You could use it to store pictures and data and all sorts of other items but not for primary operating system.

I don’t have a lot of faith in it but it’s a very good price point and for a budget conscious it makes sense

I was at first very pleased with this SSD. It crashed after about 3 months. I lost a considerable amount of important work files. I have no idea how to return it, as Best Buy won’t take it back even with the receipt. So I bought another one. I will update how long this one lasts.

You should buy a 500 Gb hard drive instead Bc it’s not a high price difference.

Not worth the price when there's ones online for the same price with twice the space available

This PNY SSD is very good at price and performance.

overall good drive but not compatible with windows for a boot drive.

I haven't used it yet, but the price for solid state storage can't be beat

In todays world you need more devices to work from home

I purchased this hard drive for the computer I was purchasing at the same time. The Geek Squad rep offered to install both this hard drive and the original hard drive in the computer I was purchasing. Unfortunately, whoever did that piggybacked the new drive into the existing drive for a power source. Almost one year later, when my computer crashed and I took it back to the Geek Squad, they found that this SSD drive had failed because the power supply was inadequate to power both drives. The result was the loss of all information on the SSD hard drive, additional expense for diagnostic and purchase of new hard drive, and loss of all data/files from the SSD drive. I don't know how else to lodge a compleint with Best Buy.

Can't say much. A friend of mine is the one who brought it.

It is just a basic SSD, I have had one of these drives fail.

Installed OS onto it, but cannot boot from disk. computer refuses to acknowledge the drive as a boot drive.. oh well, wasted money again. Back to the old spin drives. they actually work. maybe use this as a phone/camera storage then..

Works as expected. Used in plex server for about 2 yrs. After 2 years and running 24/7 drive fails.

This drive was purchased after our primary OS drive failed to boot, but still accessible. No software solution provided to clone old drive, so had to totally reinstall OS. Performance impact afterward not too noticeable.

Along with installing this you were supposed to upgrade to Windows 10. In the process you removed all my applications including Office. Other professionals have assured me that this was not necessary. Since Office was bundled with the original software there was no way to get it back without paying for it. I have complained and all I got was an offer to install Libre. Yes I can use Libre but it doesn’t do everything Office did. I am Extremely disappointed and I doubt I’ll ever trust you again.

Slow as my hard drive, no clue why. Was definitely not happy seeing this SSD going 100 Mbs rather than 500 which they claim.

I bought 3 of these drives. One of them stopped responding in less than a month. This fast of failure rate is terrible. My other complaint is there is no cloning software that comes from PNY. You have to get a third party software. Other hard drive manufacturers include this with their hard drives.

Worked great for about 3 weeks and then I get corrupted files and failure to boot. Wiped drive and reinstalled windows and I get about 30 min before it would crash again. Bought a Samsung evo ssd and have had no issues since. I may have gotten a bad one but I will not risk losing data over a cheap ssd again. Would NOT recommend.
